Services for Herman Barnett, 66, of Calera, will be held Today, March 30, at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens with Reverends Ronnie Porter and Buddy Hayes officiating.
Mr. Barnett died March 28.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Pinelli of Illinois and Teresa Wakefield of Calera; sons, David Barnett of Mississippi and Andy Barnett of Calera; brothers, Mark Barnett of Calera and Lawrence Barnett of Alabaster; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John Bailey Dawson Jr.
Services for John Dawson Jr., 39, of Thorsby, will be held March 31 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Elmore officiating.
Visitation will be held today, March 30, at Martin Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m.
Mr. Dawson, a machine operator, died March 28.
Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Killingsworth of Thorsby; brothers, Phillipe Killingsworth of Jemison, Thomas Killingsworth of Clanton and William Killingsworth of Thorsby; sisters, Julia Smith of Jemison, Charlotte Taylor of Thorsby and Tommy Taylor of Thorsby.
He was the son of John Sr. and Charlotte (Gulledge) Killingsworth.
Knox Gillespie
Services for Knox Gillespie, 78, of Thorsby, will be held today, April 1, at Pates Chapel Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the church with Reverends William Kee and Alvin Porter officiating.
Mr. Gillespie, employee of L and N Railroad, died at his home March 30.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Gillespie of Thorsby; son, Tim Gillespie of Clanton; daughters, Gail Wilson of Thorsby, Kay Varden of Thorsby, Debbie Scott of Thorsby, Pat Pitts of Wilsonville and Penny Jones of Columbiana; stepsons, Keith Jones and Lynn Jones of Clanton; sisters, Mabel Froelich of Dexter Mich. And Louise Fisher of Thorsby; five granddaughters, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, two step-granddaughters, one step-great-granddaughter and two step grandsons.
He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Willingham) Gillespie.
Rodrick Houston
Graveside services for Rodrick Houston, 60, of Maylene will be held at Ryan's Baptist Church Cemetery today, April 6, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Ron McKeever officiating.
Mr. Houston, a master underwriter, died April 3. Mr.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Richardson Houston; son, Bradley Houston of Calera; daughter, Gina Dorough of Maylene; mother, Faye Houston of Pelham; sister, Sherry Turner of Villa Rica, Ga.

Ruby H. Davidson
Services for Ruby Davidson will be held today, April 6, at 2 p.m. Brent Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Robert Crider officiating.
Mrs. Davidson died April 4 at Bibb Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Wade of Brent; sister, Lorene Ingle of Jasper; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Davis Sr., Steve Deavours, James Wright, Ed Lightsey, John Davidson and Scott Davis, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Meigs Jr., Tony Caldwell, Benny Russell, Ray Connell, Johnny Dowdle and Aaron Murphy.
John Thomas Burnette
Services for John Burnette, 75, of Clanton were held April 5 with burial at Highland Memorial Gardens. Reverend Tony Burnett officiated.
Mr. Burnette, a machine operator, died at UAB Medical Center April 3.
Survivors include, his wife, Ruth Burnette of Clanton; sons, Roger Burnette of Alabaster and Tim Burnette of Hoover; daughter, Sara Justice of Hueytown; step-sons, Phillip Robinson of alabaster and Kenneth Robinson of Thorsby; step-daughter, Mary Clyde Jones of Montevallo; brothers, Henry Burnette of Guntersville and Perry Burnette of Jemison; sisters, Clara Gilmore of Hueytown, Elnora Smith of Bessemer and Alberta Gilmore of Bessemer; five grandchildren and a host of step-grandchildren.
He was the son of Will and Dora (Ellison) Burnette.
Nell Kathleen Merchant
Services for Nell Merchant, 86, of Clanton, will be held today, April 7, at Bell Lane Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Doug Powell officiating.
Mrs. Merchant, a dental assistant, died at Beverly Healthcare April 4.
Survivors include her sister, Hilda Burks of Albertville; nephews, David Gilbert of Tucson, Ariz. and John Burks of Birmingham and niece, Mary Burks of Louisville, Ky.
She was the daughter of Hubert Lindsey and Alice (Bean) Smith.
Dennis Oliver "Bud" Burnett Jr.
Services for Bud Burnett Jr., 72, of Maplesville, will be held April 8 at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Rasberry officiating,
Visitation will be held today, April 7, at Ebenezer Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. Burnett, a car salesman, died April 6 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis O Burnett, III of Maplesville and Mike Burnett of Plantersville; his daughter, Becky Burnett of Maplesville; granddaughters Christy Knowles of Montevallo and Kailee Burnett of Maplesville; grandsons Trey Burnett and Beau Burnett, both of Maplesville; great grandson James William Knowles of Montevallo and his sister, Agnes Friday of Stanton.
He was the son of Dennis Oliver Burnett, Sr., and Mildred Schuter Dennis.
Leila Belle Smith Moore
Services for Leila Belle Smith Moore, 99 of Clanton, are Thursday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Clanton City Cemetery with Reverend Jay Hurd officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Martin Funeral Home.
Moore, a former elementary school teacher, died April 6 at her home.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Clanton or Old Macedonia Church Cemetery Fund.

Services for Montreal Day, 87, of Clanton, will be Monday, Jan. 26 at martin Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Chilton Memorial Gardens with Reverends Denny Rogers and Doug Powell officiating.
Mrs. Day, a homemaker, died at Hatley Health care Jan. 23.
Survivors include her son, Tommy Sandlin of Wetumpka; daughter, Eunice Phillips of Clanton; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Jane Boyette.
Lois Hand Day
Graveside services for Lois Day, 84, of Montgomery, are Monday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at Six Mile Cemetery in Centreville with Rachel Shockley officiating.
Mrs. Day, a homemaker, died at Crowne Health Care Jan. 23.
Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Shockley of Montgomery; brothers, Ira Hand of Bessemer and Homer Hand of Gardendale; sister, Marjorie Hutchinson of Birmingham; grandchildren, Lisa Smith, Leah Hagan, Lara Lenox, Lori Dekle, Ginger Florey, Scott Florey and four great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of John and Ethel Hand.
William M. "Bill" Motley
Services for Bill Motley, 62, of Clanton, are today, Jan. 25 at martin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at New Liveoak Cemetery in Selma with Reverends Randy Strattus and Vita Roley officiating.
Mr. Motley, former president of the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, died at his home Jan. 22.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Motley of Clanton; daughters, Doreen Thomas of Birmingham, Jeannie Fountain of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Dione Bates of Alabaster; grandchildren, Ethan, Elliot and Leanna Hamilton of Deatsville, Nathaniel and Mitchell Thomas of Birmingham and hunter and Austin Bates of Alabaster; aunt, Zodie Pardue of Selma and step-daughter, Lindsay Esco of Tuscaloosa.
He was the son of Willie and Bertha Mae Motley.
