Linnie Arminda Culver, age 90, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005.
Mrs. Culver was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She preceded in death by her husband, William Otho Culver; and her parents, Seaborn and Rhoda Flannigan.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2005, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Albert Parker, Michael Malone, Stephen Foster , Darryl Foster , Heath Davis and Eric Garrison.
Mrs. Culver is survived by two daughters, Mae Foster and husband Harold, of Tuscumbia, and Fayrene Malone of Russellville; a son, Rayburn Parker and wife Jackie, of Russellville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Henry Defoor, age 80, of Haleyville, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2005, at Lakeland Community Hospital.
Mr. Defoor was a member of Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Drummond Coal Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Ward Defoor; his parents, William and Rosie Lee Defoor; a brother, Bayron Defoor; and three sisters, Betty Jo Beasley, Wilma Williams, and Mildred McCarley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Dr. Todd Evans and Dr. Jim Cooley officiating. Interment was in New Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. Defoor is survived by six children, Peggy Childers of Haleyville, Donald Defoor of Haleyville, Brenda Mashburn of Haleyville, Wayne Defoor of Iuka, Mississippi, Joan Defoor of Haleyville, and Johnny Defoor of Iuka, Mississippi; two sisters, Jean Parsons of Jasper and Sue Ivie of Bear Creek; a brother, James Defoor of Haleyville; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

Beatrice Crane Wilson, age 76, of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at her residence.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Joy Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Wilson; her parents, Walter and Mary Lou Crane; and three brothers, Frank Crane, William "Shorty" Crane, and Tommy Crane.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2005, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Ken Baker officiating. Interment will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sisters, Era Ward of Double Springs and Vera Carden of Haleyville; a brother, Julius Crane of Haleyville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Kenneth C. Black, age 58, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006.
Mr. Black was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the National Defense Medal, Marksman (Rifle) Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Author and Savannah Goins Black; six brothers, J.C., William, Dean, Bud, Tulon and James Robert Black; and three sisters, Ludy Smith, Austell Taylor and Pearl McDowell.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Justin Cole officiating. Interment with full military honors was in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Lela Faye Broadway Black; a daughter, Angela Faye Spain and husband Tim, of Russellville; three sisters, Barbara Broadway and husband Truman, of Russellville, Mary Berryman and husband Phillip, of Russellville, and Hazel Miller and husband Raymond, of Spruce Pine; a grandchild, Colby Wayne Spain of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel Lee Bradford, age 100, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Burns Nursing Home.
Ms. Bradford was a row crop farmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sally Graves Bradford.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel in Moulton with C.G. Reding officiating. Interment was in Old Bethel Cemetery in Leighton.
Pallbearers were Steve Bradford, Tommy Bradford, Jim Byars, J.T. Masterson, Darryl Bradford and Raymond Sutton.
Ms. Bradford is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Eugene J. Copeland, age 80, of Red Bay, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Copeland was born July 26, 1921, in Mississippi to Barney C. Copeland and Medda Montgomery Copeland. He was a salesman for Lawson Products for 20 years, a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Red Bay, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Copeland; and his parents.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill and Bro. Jerry Swimmer officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Copeland is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lola Faye Copeland; a son, John Copeland of Red Bay; a daughter, Janie Cromeans and husband John, of Birmingham; five grandchildren, Jay Copeland of Jacksonville, Florida, Catherine Cromeans of Oxford, Mississippi, John Cromeans III of Oxford, Mississippi, Nicole Roberson and husband Bradley, of Oxford, Mississippi, and Matt Copeland and wife Whitney of Golden, Mississippi; and one great-granddaughter, Riley Roberson of Oxford, Mississippi.

James Arthur Garrison, age 47, of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Baptist Montclair Hospital.
Mr. Garrison had served in the Navy and belonged to Double Springs Masonic Lodge #877. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Florene Garrison; and a brother, Jimmy Garrison.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Ricky Grimes and Ricky White officiating. Interment was in Posey Mill Cemetery.
Mr. Garrison is survived by his wife, Carolyn Garrison; two children, Timothy Garrison of Phil Campbell and Adam Garrison of Haleyville; four brothers, Sammy Garrison of Phil Campbell, T.V. Garrison of Phil Campbell, Travis Garrison of Sheperdsville, Kentucky, and Junior Garrison of Bear Creek; two sisters, Virginia Clark of Russellville and Linda Annette Adams of Hackleburg; and two grandchildren, Brenden Garrison and Haley Garrison.
