James Raymond Callen
James Raymond Callen, a resident of Fort Deposit, died on Friday, April 11, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13th, with the Rev. Eric Jackson officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Interment will follow at Ruple-Davis Cemetery in Minter.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mr. Callen was preceded in death by his parents Jack Crum Callen, Sr. and Marianne Gibson Callen.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Davis; daughter Elizabeth Callen of Montgomery; sister, Beth Callen (Allen) Woodard of Andalusia; brothers, Jack (Jeanne) Callen, Jr. of Greenville, Scott (Kindal) Callen of Lowndesboro, Malcolm (Rebecca) Callen of Fort Deposit; six nieces and eight nephews.
James Austin
AUSTIN, James Arthur, 54, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Monday, November 8, 2004, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., from Mt. Zion Church in Cave-in-Rock, IL, with Reverend Arthur Austin, Jr. and Chaplain Greg Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Cox Funeral Home directing. Mr. Austin retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons as an Associate Warden after 25 years of service. At the time of his death, he was a Realtor with Aronov Realty in Prattville, AL. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 31 years, Donna “Sue” Austin; son, Jimmy Austin; son, Charlie Austin and his girl friend, Melanie Aldridge, all of Prattville, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Alaunda and Donnie Patton, Brighton, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in Alabama on Wednesday evening, November 10th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel. A second visitation will be held for friends in Illinois on Friday evening, November 12th, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Ridgway, IL.
Leslie Michael Mosley
Mr. Leslie Michael Mosley, 59, a resident of Georgiana, died Tuesday, April 08, 2008 at Georgiana Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with the Rev. Watson Wasden officiating.
Burial followed in Antioch West Baptist Church Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
The family received friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Wailes Carter
CARTER, Wailes Choice, 95, a former resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Karen Carter, in Theodore, AL, on Monday, September 26, 2005. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with Reverend Randy Woodham officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Elizabeth Carter. In addition to his son and daughter-in-law, he is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Statia McNeese, Niceville, FL; four grandchildren, Charles Carter, Jr., Monica Loyd, Norma Carter, and Carter McNeese; eight great-grandsons, and two great-great grandsons. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel one hour prior to her service on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Betty Gorum Dubose
Betty Gorum Dubose, Age 65, a former resident of McKenzie, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2008 in Atmore, Ala. She was preceded in by her parents, Comer and Minnie Gorum and one brother, Earl Gorum. She is survived by two sons; Michael DuBose and Dewayne DuBose of Andalusia, one daughter, Theresa DuBose Mothershed of Illinois, three sisters , Margie Palmer of Prattville, Barbara Gomillion and Olen Merritt of McKenzie, two brothers; George and C.W. Gorum of Andalusia, grandchildren; Tessa M. Sutton of Atmore, Amanda Bush, Eric Bush and Joshua Mothershed of Andalusia, and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana. Visitation will be from 12 noon until Funeral time on Monday. Burial will follow in Gorum Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mylan Murphy Odom
Mylan Murphy Odom, 88, a resident of McKenzie, died Monday, April 28, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband Rogene Odom and son, Lamar Odom. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Dwight Vickrey and Alan Odom officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and Winston Blackburn of River Ridge, La.; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Odom of McKenzie; sister, Betty Mosley of Mobile; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

COOK, Lillie M., a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2005, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Cook, and three sons, Buck, Donnie and Dee Dee Cook. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Otie Lemley, Millbrook, AL; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles and Sue Cook, Shelby County, AL, and Leroy Chavers, Prattville, AL; and 14 grandchildren.

Michael Farmer, and Kevin (Joyce) Turner; five great-grandchildren, Jared Farmer, Kelsey Farmer, Nolan Turner, Natalie Turner, and Cole Turner. Active pallbearers will be Glenn Farmer, Michael Farmer, Kevin Turner, Dale White, Wes Bonner, and James Cook. Auldridge, Prattville, AL; two sisters, Maureen Fresco, Ely, England, Kathleen Watkins, Coleford, England; two brothers, Tony Gambleton, Romford, England, and James Gambleton, Barkingside, England; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Vermon (Punk) L. Free, age 76, a resident of Old Bolling Rd., Greenville, died Saturday, April 26, 2008. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 from the chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Mayberry officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Park with Harrison Funeral Home directing. A visitation was held Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Survivors include: son, Lewis Free of Huntsville, Donald Free, Johnny Free and Mark Free, all of Greenville; daughters, Doris Reaves and Dorothy Mayberry, both of Greenville; sisters, Mae Stokes of Selma, Opal Misseldine of Millbrook and Ann Hudson of Texarkana, Ark.; brothers, James T. Free of Selma, Herman Free of Prattville and Lenard Free of Selma; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Dubose and Dewayne Dubose of Andalusia; one daughter, Theresa Dubose Mothershed of Illinois; four sisters, Margie Palmer of Prattville, Barbara Gomillion and Olen Merritt of McKenzie and Jewel Halford of Red Level; two brothers, George and CW Gorum of Andalusia; grandchildren, Tessa M. Sutton of Atmore, Amanda Bush, Eric Bush and Joshua Mothershed of Andalusia and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana. Visitation was from noon until funeral time on Monday. Burial followed in Gorum Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
