Leon Faulk Jr.

Mr. Leon Faulk Jr. 26, a resident of Rutledge, died March 20, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Centenary Assembly of God with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating and Harrison Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Faulk is survived by his mother, Mrs. Linda Faulk, Troy; three sisters, Wendy Faulk, Rutledge, Lacey Faulk, Goshen,and Kelly Faulk, Elba.; two brothers, Kevin Faulk, Elba and Christopher Faulk, Rutledge; grandmother Frances Black, Rutledge and grandfather, Edward Earl Nichols, Montgomery. Mr. Faulk was preceded in death by his father Leon Faulk, Sr.

Andrew T. Sherman

Andrew Theodore Sherman, 88, a resident of Red Level, died Sunday, March 8, 2008 in a Georgiana hospital. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Watson, the Rev. Stacey Harrell, and the Rev. Marcus Sherman officiating. Burial followed in Elizabeth Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing. Survivors include: former wife, Adell Sherman of McKenzie; daughters, Elaine Crawford of Evergreen, Sylvia McCormick and Sarah Oswald, both of Greenville; son, Larry J. Sherman of McKenzie, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Keysa Boswell Helms

Keysa Boswell Helms, 39, a resident of Fernandina Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Gainesville, Fla. Funeral services was at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Res. Randy Harvill officiating. Burial was Union Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing. Survivors include: husband, Joe Helm of Fernandina Beach; Sons, Tyler Helms and Joey Helms, both of Fernandina Beach; father, Alton Boswell of Georgiana; sister, Tammy Butts of Luverne; brother, David Boswell of Georgiana; grandson, Colin Helms of Fernandina Beach.

Annie Mae Brown

Annie Mae Brown, 89, a resident of Greenville, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 from the chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Stephenson officiating and Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville directing. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, J.W. Brown and her son Johnny Mack Brown, both of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donald Ray Greene Sr.

Donald Ray Greene Sr., 57, a resident of Prattville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from the chapel of Prattville Memory Gardens at Prattville Memorial Chapel. Mr. Greene served his country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a dedicated member of the East Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Fannie Greene and one brother, Pete Greene. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 38 years, Pat Greene; one daughter, Cristy (Mark) Andrews; one son, Donald (Betty) Greene Jr.; three grandchildren, Tripp Greene, Megan Andrews and John Mark Andrews; one sister, Shirley Killough; three brothers, Bill (Dot) Greene, Russell (Maxine) Greene and Danny (Becky) Greene, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be the United States Air Force Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Saturday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to East Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1320 Old Ridge Rd., Prattville, AL 36066. Joe Harold Brazell

Joe Harold Brazell, 73, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Chapel services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial followed at Sunrise Memorial Park. Mr. Brazell is survived by his wife, Ida Vermell Brazell of Greenville; step-children, Billy Kendricks of Greenville, Bobby Ray Turberville, David Earl Turberville and Sandra Cumbie, all of Excel; sister, Lucy Pickren; nephews and nieces, Donnie Pickren, Tommy Brazell, Joe Pickren, Tommy Brazell, Joe Pickren, Stephen Pickren, Heather Brogdon, Brandon Norris, Stephanie Norris, Jennifer Turberville and Shane Turberville.

Alpha Dill Plaskett

Alpha Dill Plaskett, 98, a resident of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
Church services will be held Monday, February 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with Father Fred Lindstrom officiating.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Family will receive friends Sunday, February 24, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Plaskett was preceded in death by husband, John B. Plaskett and sisters, Louise Steele, Bertha Lee Sheskin, Irene Leith, Effie Klober, and brother, Elmer Dill. Mrs. Plaskett is survived by sister, Hattie Manasco, and several nieces and nephews.

Kerry Butler, Sr.

Kerry Herschel Butler Sr., 66, a resident of Prattville, Alabama, died peacefully at his home on Friday, August 4, 2006, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 6, at Prattville Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. with Father Charles Troncale officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Mr. Butler retired from the State of Alabama after 28 years with the Highway Department. He later retired from the Alabama Air National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan S. Butler, and one brother, Keith Butler. He is survived by his children, Kerry H. Butler, Jr., Kelley (Ed) Rouze, Katrina (Robby) Anderson, and Kristi (Donny) Rollins. He was the Grandaddy of Katie Marie Anderson, Alec Butler Anderson, Haden Harris Anderson and Luke Kerry Butler Rollins. He is also survived by ten siblings: Kenneth (Glenda) Butler, Kathleen Spear, Karen (Bert) Weeks, Kavon Pontius, Keven (Chris) Butler, Kermit Butler, Korene (Bill) Schaffer, Kolene Barnett, Kim (Johnny) Basinger and Kris Butler.
His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Prattville Memory Chapel on Saturday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith and Grace Hospice, Inc. 540 Clay Street, Montgomery 36104.

Elena "Sue" Byars

BYARS, Elena, “Sue,” 84, a resident of Prattville, AL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at a local health care facility. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from Oakwood Cemetery in Moundville, AL, with Reverend Grant Parker officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Byars owned and operated Seale’s Amoco Station in Gallion, AL for many years where she also resided. She was preceded in death by two spouses, Ellis E. Seale and William Bradley “Red” Byars. She is survived by one daughter, Janet M. Byars, Prattville, AL; two sons, William E. Seale, Clanton, AL, and Bradley Barton “Rusty” Byars, Demopolis, AL; three grandchildren, Janet L. Byars and Mary Sue Byars, both of Demopolis, AL, and John Morgan Smitherman, Verbena, AL; and one sister, Florence W. Stone, Moundville, AL.

Fred Buford Stacey

Fred Buford Stacey, age 65, died Friday, February 15, 2008, at Georgiana Hospital. He was a native of Monroe County, Alabama, and had been a painter.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Stacey, Monroeville, Ala.; one son, Wayne Stacey, Pa.; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Warrick, Jay, Fla.; two brothers, W.T. Stacey, Greenville, Ala., and Cecil Stacey, Saraland, Ala.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday, February 18, 2008, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Graveside services followed at 11 a.m. at Excel Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Mary Atchison Rogers

Mary Atchison Rogers, a lifelong resident of Butler County, died on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2008 from the chapel of Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home with the Rev. David A. Atchison officiating and Dunklin And Daniels Funeral Home directing. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Callie Duncan Atchison; sisters, Effie A. Strickland, Natalie A. Hughes and brother, James Mack Atchison. She is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" (Georgia) C. Rogers of Greenville; daughter, Carolyn R. (Al) Middleton of Greenville; grandchildren, Melissa M. (Joel) Houghton of Wetumpka, Ben Rogers of Greenville, Susan R. (Gavin) Davis of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Wil, Leah and Sam Houghton of Wetumpka; special children, Cecil Atchison, Bill (Wanda) Atchison of Prattville, Joanne A. (Wayne) Saucer of Titus, Johnnie (Kathy) Atchison of Greenville, and the Rev. David (Angela) Atchison of Satsuma and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rogers was a charter member of East Greenville Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to one's favorite charity or to RSI Restoration: First United Methodist Church, 112 Adams Street, Greenville, AL 36037, in memory of Mrs. Rogers.

Horace Fred Martin Sr.

Horace Fred Martin, Sr., age 85, a resident of Camden, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2008, at Reaves Chapel Cemetery with Elder Barney McIntosh officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Alice Capell Martin. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Threadgill Martin; daughter, Beatrice Martin of McMinnville, Oregon; step-daughters, Phyllis Blackwell of Camden, Carolyn Stimpson of Coy, Katrina Wilson of Coy; son, Horace Fred Martin, Jr., of Fitzpatrick; step-son, Phillip Threadgill of Selma; eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Nell Kirchbarr of Camden; brother, Wilburn Martin of Globe, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Martin was a WW II and Korean War veteran. He was also a survivor of the Battle of The Bulge and fought in five major battles during his service. He was a member of the Dale Lodge # 25 of Camden and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Camden.
