William "Bill" Buck
Buck, William “Bill” Francis, 81, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at a local hospital. A full military service will be held at the graveside on Friday, April 22, 2005, at 3:00 p.m., in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Reverend Ocie J. Colley officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Buck honorably served his country for 32 years with the United States Army and retired with the rank of MSgt. He was also an active member of the VFW, Post 1349, in Prattville, AL. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Dora T. Buck; three daughters, Annette J. Barnes, Brenda K. (Joe) Walls, Fran L. (Phil) Holland; six granddaughters, Taryn Barnes, Stacey Barnes, Crystal Lyle, Jessica Wood, Tabitha Lyle and Shelby Holland; two grandsons, Jeremy Barnes and James Wood; and one great-grandson, Logan Barnes. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. “Our country is in mourning, because a soldier passed away.”
Don Cline
Cline, Don Choat, 72, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Monday, January 17, 2005. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at 3:00 p.m., with Titus Judah Jr. officiating with full military honors. Mr. Cline was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jonathan Adam Thompson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Charlotte Cline of Prattville, AL; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Richard Nugen of Grand Prairie, TX, Susie and Darrell Baker of Prattville, AL, Paula and Joe Thompson of Ashford, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Barbara Cline of Prattville, AL; nine grandchildren, Forrest Baker, Audra Baker, David Baker, Joshua Cline, Jennifer Spivey, Kristy Odell, Kerri Goodner, Tammie Hill, Jimmy Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Mykaila Baker, Breanna Baker, Emma Odell; one sister Charlotte Mae Longley of Cleburne, TX. Active pallbearers will be the United States Air Force. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
Wilbur Earl Thompson
Wilbur Earl Thompson, 78, of Huntsville passed away Monday at his home with his family at his side.
Mr. Thompson graduated from Greenville, AL, High School in 1948. He was a Korean War veteran having served 5 years in the Air Force as part of their Mobile Training Group. He received his degree from Troy State University. His first job after graduation was with NACA at the Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. He later transferred to the Space Task Group that was the forerunner of the Johnson Research Center in Houston. In 1960 he transferred to Huntsville and began a long career with NASA at Marshall Space Flight Center, retiring in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Illene Dexter Thompson of Huntsville; his mother, Lura Haire Thompson of Montgomery; two children, son, Larry Thompson, and daughter, Alicia Fanning and her husband, Michael; four grandchildren, Bartlett and Dexter Thompson and Anna and Rachel Fanning, all of Huntsville; brother, Malcolm Thompson and his wife, Jean, of Greenville; sisters, Betty Cardinale and husband, Frank, of Greenville and Carolyn Gibbs of Montgomery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 12:30 on Wednesday, April 9th at Trinity United Methodist Church at 607 Airport Road followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association of Alabama or Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.

Evelyn Ferriestine Gibson, 83 of Fort Deposit, AL, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Antioch East Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Boulware officiating.
Burial followed in Mt Moriah Cemetery, with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Visitation was held Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by husband, Milton M. Gibson of Ft. Deposit, AL; son, Ronald (Peggy) Gibson of Ft. Deposit, AL; daughters, Mary Dianne (Lionel) Lowe of Lemberton, MS, Ella Carrol Groebner of Ft. Deposit, AL, Angelia Margaret (Kerry) Lunsford of Ackworth, GA; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Stella Cowart of Greenville, AL. Anna Lois Hanks Miller
Anna Lois Hanks Miller, a resident of Monroe County and more recently of Mobile, died peacefully on March 24, 2008 surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Tolbert Miller; two sons, James Edward Miller and Ollie Benjamin Miller. She is survived by one son, Bruce Everett (Carolyn) Miller; two daughters, Dorothy M. England and Jewel (Tony) Duthu; daughters-in-law, Johnnie Faye Miller and Mary Agnes Miller; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, and many beloved great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana. Visitation is Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27 from Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville.
Patricia 'Pat' B. Stephens
Patricia "Pat" Brown Stephens, 73, a resident of Montgomery and a native of Greenville, died Thursday, March 27, 2008. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, March 30th at 2 p.m. from Leak-Memory Chapel with Dr. Mike Cassity officiating with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, Jabres Noble "Foots" Brown and Mattie Lou Holder Brown. She was a member of the Greenville High School Class of 1952.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Charles D. Stephens, three daughters; Gail S. Purser (Chip) of Hoover, Peggy S. Dendy (Sam) and Pam S. Loveless of Montgomery; sister, Kathi B. Clark of Deatsville; two brothers, Noble Brown of Millbrook and George Brown of Equality; four grandchildren; Cindy Patterson (Brian) Helena, Jennifer Sims, Abby Loveless and Kristen Loveless, all of Montgomery; and great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Patterson of Helena.
Pallbearers were her nephews David Rodgers, Trevitte Brown, William Clark, Nicky Brown, Chase Brown, Michael Clay and Steven Davis. Honorary Pallbearers were nephews.

Gloria J. Kaney
Gloria J. Kaney, 58, of Aiken, S.C., died March 30, 2008 while vacationing with family in Jacksonville, Fla. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 3 p.m. at George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue SW in Aiken.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name may be made to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervaise St., Suite 300, Columbia SC 29201.
Gloria was born and lived most of her life in Greenville. She attended Greenville High School in the mid 1960s. She moved with her family to Aiken in 1986. Gloria was a 17-year employee at the Aiken Wal-Mart who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Kaney. She is survived by: her daughter, Natasha Blackburn of Aiken; Belinda “Samm” Dorn and her husband, Brad, of Florence, S.C.; brothers, Robert Maples and his wife Clair of Washington State, Herbert Maples and his wife Mable of Missouri and granddaughter, Victoria Walton, many nieces and nephews.
