Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Jan. 25 at Williams Funeral Home in Graceville, Fla., with Pastor Travis Free officiating. Burial will follow at Big Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Christopher S. Howell of Coffee Springs died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 32. Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva will announce the arrangements later, 334-684-9999.

Mr. Ollie Jackson Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of Slocomb, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003. He was 73. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Jan. 25 at Countyline Missionary Baptist Church in Slocomb where Acy Tucker is pastor, with the Rev. Paul Grider officiating. Burial will follow at Countyline Historical Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services. The Cortege will assemble at 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Lucille Hicks (Granny) McCraney of Henry Road, Columbia, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, 2003, at Westside Terrace in Dothan after an extended illness. She was 85. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Jan. 25 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today at the church sanctuary.

Janie Bogert Pate of Third Avenue Extension died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 22, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 61. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today, Jan. 25 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with George Bogart officiating. Burial will follow at Espy Cemetery in Campbellton, Fla.

Mrs. Rose Kripper Pohl of Enterprise died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Medical Center Enterprise. She was 89. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Glenda R. Scott, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday night, Jan. 21, 2003, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Fleetie Blair of Stroud Avenue, Elba, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Gadsden Nursing Home in Quincy, Fla. She was 93. Roy Connell, II, a native of Mobile and a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his home in Dothan. He was 69. Melba Blankenship Brannon of Montgomery died early Monday night, Jan. 27, 2003, in a Montgomery hospital. She was 82. Mrs. Jennie Smith Cassady, a resident of Wiregrass Nursing Home and formerly of Wicksburg, died Sunday night, Jan. 26, 2003, after an extended illness. She was 86. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb. Interment will follow at the Goodwater Free Will Baptist Church near Wicksburg. Dr. James Hudson Crowdis Jr. of Lucille Road, Blakely, Ga., died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at his residence. He was 84. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at First United Methodist Church with interment in Blakely Cemetery. The Rev. Henry Bass and the Rev. David Crowdis will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Mrs. Opal Ruth Aycock of State Lake Road, Midway, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Crowne Health Care after an extended illness. She was 71. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at The Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints in Dothan with Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home directing. Officiating will be Second Counselor Mike Hornsby and Home Teacher Ron Jeffreys. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan, 793-1117, is in charge of arrangements.
