KEEN, William Henry, 54, a native of Maryland and current resident of Prattville, AL, died on Saturday, March 24, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Harold Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Keen was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Alan McDonald, and parents, John and Cora Keen. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lula G. Keen; four sons, William “Eric” Keen, II, William (Jeanette) McDonald, Jeffery McDonald, and Martin (Kim) McDonald; one daughter, Teresa Lynch; 17 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Blanche Ashford, Marjorie (Johnnie) Dry, Deborah (Michael) Crawford, and Roberta (Odell) Barrier; three brothers, Robert (Connie) Keen, Richard (Betty) Keen, and John (Jean) Keen; 26 nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Stanley Green
Green, Stanley Craig, 39, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2005, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Glenn Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Carter-Golson Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his father, Wendell “Bud” Green. He is survived by one son, Jonathan Hughes of Deatsville, AL; mother, Jean Green of Prattville, AL; three sisters, Marilyn (Ray) Walker of Prattville, AL, Janice Green of Houston, TX, Brenda (Daryl) Covington of Live Oak, NC; two brothers, Marion (Beverly) Green, Jr. of Madison, AL and Woodrow Green of Pensacola, FL; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Adam Green, Kirk Green, James Green, Jeff Carter, Chris Smith, Patrick Hester. JACKSON, Joseph Wayne "Wayne-O," 56, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at a Montgomery hospital. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., from Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, with Minister Buddy Bell officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Ralph Jackson, and one niece, Tracy Jackson. He is survived by one sister, Ann Thomas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudy and Ellouise Jackson, Alex and Cindy Jackson; one nephew; two nieces, and many friends. KENNEDY, Michael, (Capt., USAF, Ret’d), 51, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, September 23, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Kennedy retired from the United States Air Force as Captain with over 23 years of service to his country. He is survived by his beloved wife, Terri Kennedy, Prattville, AL; two daughters, Heather (Scott) O’Dell, Germany, and Nicki Carr, Elmore, AL; three sons, Shawn Kennedy, Illinois, Craig (Miranda) Carr, Deatsville, AL, Chris Carr, Prattville, AL; one sister, Patricia (Brad) Bostian; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. HAND, Edgar Denson, 83, a resident of Prattville, AL died peacefully on December 6, 2007 at his residence. He is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Gerald) Kelly, Greer, SC, and Janet (Jules) Hobbie, Montgomery, AL; seven grandchildren, Donna Fox, Tracy Sargent, David Kelly, Christopher Hobbie, Patrick Hobbie, Valerie Hobbie, and Amanda Fuentes; two great-grandchildren, Josie Fox and Corie Fox; and two brothers, Addison Hand, Birmingham, AL, and Ehram (Alma) Hand, Jemison, AL. David Duncan
Duncan, David Ulton, 69, resident of Prattville, AL died on Monday, November 5, 2007, in Clanton, AL. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor Mike Keehn officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Duncan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was well known in the community as the “Can Man,” and had been very active in the Dixie youth League. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Delois Duncan; one daughter, Nora Williams; two sons, Samuel Duncan and Alan (Rachel) Duncan; six grandchildren; five sisters, and one brother. Active pallbearers will be Charles “Bubba” Walters, John Wingard, Keith Wingard, Glenn and George Cook, Robin Williams, and Judge Jim Corley. Marion Dopson
DOPSON, Jr., Marion, affectionately known and loved as "Buddie," a resident of Millbrook, AL, died peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the age of 79. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor Gary Dopson officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Memorial Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Dopson proudly served his country during World War II as a Veteran of the United States Navy and later retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a dedicated member of New Horizon Church and a faithful minister to the Word of God and taught Sunday School classes at Merry Wood Lodge and at his church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Catherine Dopson, Millbrook, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Gary and Patricia Dopson, Prattville, AL; two daughters and sons-in-law, MeLisa and Danny Horton, Opelika, AL, and Shirley and Don Shealey, Columbus, SC; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Loftin, Montgomery, AL; and a host of very loved nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Hand retired from the State of Alabama, Department of Motor Vehicles, after fifteen years of service. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edgar Hand, Prattville, AL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Gerald Kelly, Greer, SC, Janet and Jules Hobbie, Dothan, AL; seven grandchildren, Donna Fox, Tracy Sargent, David Kelly, Christopher Hobbie, Patrick Hobbie, Valerie Hobbie and Amanda Fuentes; two great-grandchildren, Josie Fox and Corie Fox; and one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and James Pate, Wilmington, DE.
