Betty Headley

HEADLEY, Betty Jane, 72, a resident of Millbrook, AL, joined our Savior on Thursday, July 27, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend George Trapani officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Headley was not only a devoted wife, loving and caring mother and grandmother, but also a true friend to all who knew her. She retired from Barber’s Milk Company after many years of service. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Lewis “Bubs” Williams. She is survived by her beloved husband, Grady Headley; four daughters, Donna (Gery) Gensch, Carolyn Horton, Judy (Kerry) Springer, and Brenda Turner; six grandchildren, LeAnne, Gery, Stephanie, Nikki, Lindsey, and Josh; one great-grandson, Alex, and one brother, Seth (Joyce) Herndon. There will forever be a void in our life because of our loss and she will be truly missed. Our only comforting thought is that one day our family will again be reunited in heaven together. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel one hour prior to her service Monday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m.

Edsel Ray Davis

DAVIS, Edsel Ray, 81, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Tommy Roy officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Davis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed. He is survived by his daughter, Marguerite (Jackie) Walker; one son, Eddie (Angie) Davis; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; five brothers, Frank Pugh, James Pugh, Bradley Pugh, Winston Pugh, and George Pugh; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Active pallbearers will be Dalton Silvey, Trey Davis, Bobby Willmon, Jeremy Sheehan, Brett Abbott, and Johnny McClain. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Kirk, Yancey Lynn, Jimmy Milam, Leland Hall, and Leo Cook. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Grinnelle "Nell" Eskridge

ESKRIDGE, Grinnelle Chandler, affectionately known and loved as “Nell,” 98, a former resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2005, in Birmingham, AL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, July 2, 2005, at 9:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Henry Lewis Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Eskridge had a long-time career as bookkeeper for the Prattville General Hospital and later for the Prattville Convalescence Home. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Ira H. Eskridge. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Don Fisher, Birmingham, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Nancy Eskridge, Prattville, AL; seven grandchildren, William A. (Felice) Oldacre, Leah O. (Ted) Taylor, Suzanne (Trent) Boozer, Leslie O. (Douglas) Sellers, Chandler (Tammy) Eskridge, William I. (Josie) Eskridge, and Beth Eskridge; sixteen great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dorothy Rudd, Montgomery, AL. Pallbearers will be Ted Taylor, William A. Oldacre, Trent Boozer, Douglas Sellers, Chandler Eskridge, and William I. Eskridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, 211 South Chestnut Street, Prattville, AL 36067.

Terry Jones

JONES, Terry Ray, 46, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, December 23, 2007, after an extended illness. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with Pastor Ralph Mims, Chaplain Tommy Parker, and Speaker Ivin Hull officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. At the time of his death, Terry was a dedicated employee with the State of Alabama, and had worked with the Department of Revenue for over 23 years. He was a most loving and generous person; a man to whom all could look up to. He was dearly loved and will be missed more than words can express. Surviving to cherish his memories are his beloved mother, Undine Jones; his father, H. R. Jones, Sr.; two sisters, Gaye Jones and Debra Thompson; one brother, Hubert Jones; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel one hour prior to his service from twelve noon until 1:00 p.m.

Geneva Dilworth

Dilworth, Geneva, 80, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Brother Mike Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Dilworth was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Billy G. Dilworth. She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne (Ernest) Kelley, and Pam Sands, both from Prattville, AL; five grandchildren, Gary Wygant, Robert Wygant, Skylar Sands, Britney Scarbrough, and Dalton Scarbrough; two sisters, Dorothy Watson and Edith Morris, both of Montgomery, AL; one brother, Austin Martz of Trinity, NC. Pallbearers will be Gary Wygant, Robert Wygant, Skylar Sands, James Thebo, Jerry Thebo, and Roy Watson. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m

Roger A. Jones

Jones, Roger Andy ”Buddy,” 80, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2006. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., from Prattville Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Randy Woodham and Reverend Ed Henne officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his two sons, Roger A. Jones Jr. and Marion Dale Jones; one daughter, Nancy Jones Meeks. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia (Jenny) Jones, Prattville, AL; daughter in law, Kathy C. Jones; son in law, James Meeks; six grandchildren, Mike Meeks, Melanie Whetstone, Melissa Barber, Roger D. Jones, Amanda Jones and Kerry Jones; two sisters, Mildred Davis, Biloxi, MS and Frances DeLoach, Prattville, AL. Active pallbearers will be Mike Meeks, Roger D. Jones, Ray Kirkpatrick, Bill Lipscomb, Richard Stahli and John Mills. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 C. McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL, 36104. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Lankston McNeil “Mack” Gray

GRAY, Lankston McNeil “Mack”, 68, a resident of Prattville, AL, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 25, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial with Reverends Buddy Gray and Mark Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel Directing. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Gray; his mother, Berda Gray; one sister, Dorothy Gray; and one brother, Lloyd “Corky” Gray. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 44 years, Betty Gray; one daughter, Lisa (Sam) Jones; two sons, Darron (Angela) Gray and Duane Gray; four grandchildren, Shelby and Lindsey Jones, Jordan and Lankston Gray; two sisters, Marie Clemmons and Inez (Bill) Carlton; one brother, James Gray; one special brother-in-law, Ronnie Webb; and numerous other relatives. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Jeffrey Flournoy

FLOURNOY, Jeffrey Wayne, 21, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 10, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., from Boone’s Chapel, with Pastor Rodney Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow in Boone’s Chapel Church Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Jeffrey is survived by his parents, John and Rhonda Flournoy, Prattville, AL; two sisters, Kimberly Ann Flournoy, Slapout, AL, and Tiffany Renea Flournoy, Prattville, AL; one brother, John E. Flournoy, Jr., Prattville, AL; grandparents, Eloise and Al Miller, Ecletic, AL, and Betty Noah; and numerous cousins and other relatives. The body of Jeffrey Flournoy will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to his service. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
