Jones, Mary Elizabeth, 87, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2006, at a local health care facility. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., from The Autaugaville Baptist Church, with Reverend Garner Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by one sister, Fannie Ruth Stewart. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 67 years, James Earl Jones, Jr., Prattville, AL; one daughter, Janice (Jim) Baker, Prattville, AL; three sons, Jimmy (Bess) Jones, Shalimar, FL, Luther (Kay) Jones, Autaugaville, AL, Kirk (Brenda) Jones, Selma, AL; eight grandchildren, Scott Baker, Marianne Estess, Adrienne McGeehee, Fonna Stephens, Lela Jones, Jodie Jones, Paul Kirk Jones, and Kalli Jones; six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Hardy, Eddie Jones, Billy Brooks, Clint Kent, Julius Brooks, Kenny Deramus, and Ken Owens. Shelia Hopper
HOPPER, Shelia Darlene, 44, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2007, at 12:30 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor John Varner officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who is survived by her beloved spouse, David Hopper; one daughter, Shalee Hopper, two sons; Derek Hopper and Jeremy Hopper; one sister, Gail (Ed) Wentz; one brother, Randy Hughes, and her mother-in-law, Marilyn Leigh. Seamon, Jeanette
SEAMON, Jeanette Messina, 82, a native of Naples, Italy and current resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at a local hospital. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with Father Philip McKenna officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Seamon is survived by her beloved spouse of 62 years, Loyal T. Seamon; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lettie Seamon; one niece, Doris (Jim) McCloud; one nephew, Johnny Smith; two great nephews, Bart Smith and Chad Smith; her “guardian angel” and caregiver, Fran Tillery; and many other dear friends, including those of the Italian-American Association of Montgomery, AL. Pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Bart Smith, Chad Smith, Jerry Cook, Kenny Cook, Danny Seamon, and Frankie Seamon. FULLER, Roy Eugene, 76, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Randy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Fuller honorably served his country as a Veteran of the United States Air Force retiring with the rank of TechSgt. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jeanette Gray Fuller; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janice Kelley, Darlene and Gene Shedd, all of Prattville, AL, Lisa and Eddie Beasley, Wilsonville, AL; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Gilda Fuller, Helena, AL, Michael and Mary Fuller, Sharpsburg, GA, and Randy Fuller, Prattville, AL; and twelve grandchildren. Mrs. Alcie Horton
HORTON, Mrs. Alcie H., 95, a resident of Millbrook, AL, died peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Jim Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery, Deatsville, AL, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Horton was a life long resident of Elmore County, AL, and was the daughter of John Moses and Cora Esco Holley of Deatsville, AL. Mrs. Horton was a long-time member of Coosada Baptist Church. Mrs. Horton owned and operated Horton’s Day Care for Children. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Reginald “Rex” and Raymond Holley; and one son, Charles V. Horton. Mrs. Horton is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Norman E. and Mary Horton, Decatur, AL; one daughter and son-in-law, Hazel H. and Wiley O. Weaver, Millbrook, AL; two grandsons, Dr. Randall W. (Chedabha) Weaver, Alexander City, AL, and Arthur E. Horton, Birmingham, AL; two great-grandchildren, Holly and Robert Weaver; one sister-in-law, Elsie Mae Holly, Deatsville, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. GANDY, “L.E.” Lena Esther Jones, 82, a resident of Prattville, AL, went to meet her Lord and savior on Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., from White Pond Baptist Church, with Reverend Doug Powell officiating. Burial will follow at White Pond Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Gandy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Lamar Gandy; two precious sons, Curtis and Johnny Gandy; her parents, William and Lena Jones; two brothers, John R. Jones and Sonny Jones; one sister, Emma Golson; and one precious daughter-in-law, Marsha Gandy. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gandy Henley, White City, AL; three sons, Jerry Gandy, Central, AL, Richard Gandy, and Donald Gandy, both of White City, AL; nine loving grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Clarence Evans
EVANS, Clarence Perry “Bo,” 64, a resident of Prattville, AL, won his battle with cancer and went Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 11:30 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Winston Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Annex in Montgomery, AL, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Bo was a devoted husband, loving Dad, and affectionate PaPa. He proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Air Force followed by a thirty-year career with Jay R. Smith Manufacturing Company in Montgomery, AL from which he recently retired. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sheila Evans; his parents, Joseph and Alcie Evans; and one brother, Joseph Lamar Evans. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Clarence “Bo” and Thelma “Pumkin” Evans; one grandson, Bryant “Bo” Evans, all of Prattville, AL; two sisters, Carolyn (Bobby) Lusk, Prattville, AL, and Beverly Bursey, Lake Worth, FL; one brother, Fred (Linda) Evans, Millbrook, AL; and one uncle, Perry Vick, Prattville, AL. Serving as active pallbearers will be William Dodd, Richard Dean, Dave Shows, Bob Dees, Paul Oliver, and Bryant Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be his Fellow Employees and Retirees of Jay R. Francis Grundy
GRUNDY, Francis C., (Col., USAF, Ret’d), 85, of Dublin, OH, formerly of Millbrook, AL, died peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father Albert Kelly, will be held at 10:00 a.m., from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Elmore, AL, on Friday, February 16, 2007. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Col. Grundy was born in Bronx, NY in 1921, and proudly served his country during World War II, the Berlin airlift, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War as a navigator with the United States Air Force, retiring after 33 years with the rank of Colonel. Following his military career, he was an educator in the Autauga County (AL) School System for ten years, retiring from Prattville High School. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Merri Laura Grundy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Merriam J. Grundy; his son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Tina (Henkin) Grundy, and his granddaughter, Lorena Grundy, all of Dublin, OH; one sister, Rosemarie O’Leary, Lakewood, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Heinrich, Green Bay, WI, and Marjorie Raschke, Bethlehem, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Church, Dublin, OH, and retained close ties with his friends in Millbrook, AL.
