William Hooper
Hooper, William Walter, 90, a resident of Clanton, AL, died peacefully Thursday, November 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., from the Chapel Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Dave Burns officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Hooper proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp, served during the Korean War in the Army, and in the Air Force during the Berlin crisis. Mr. Hooper retired with over 36 years of service to his country finishing his career with the Alabama Air National Guard. He was a dedicated member of the Selma Loin’s Club and the Rooster Club. Mr. Hooper was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Edwards Hooper. He is survived by one son, William David (Carlla) Hooper, Huntsville, AL; two grandchildren, David Gregory (Haden) Hooper, Madison AL, and Kara Hooper (Clay) Sawyer, Huntsville, AL; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hooper, Jenna Hooper, and Caroline Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.
Barbara Jensen
JENSEN, Barbara Sue, 49, a former resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at 7:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor W. L. Adams officiating. A private Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Jensen is survived by her parents, Archie and Barbara Bartel; one brother, Jim (Judy) Bartel; two sisters, Carolyn Fales and Shirley (Bill) McAlister; two aunts, Evelyn (Joe) Jack and Bertha Lousie Nusz; two uncles, Harry (Cherl) Bartel and Olan Bartel; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening one hour prior to her service from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Robert Fryer
FRYER, Robert Tyler, 67, a resident of Hope Hull, AL died peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Memorial services for Mr. Fryer will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2008 at Wadsworth Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Fryer was a devoted, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Alan Fryer. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 48 years, Carol Fryer; three daughters, Deborah (James) Trujillo, Lisa (Terry) Kirkland, and Stacey (Samuel) Roten; six grandchildren; two brothers, Roy W. (Norma) Fryer, and Daniel L. Fryer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Robert Fulton
FULTON, Robert Kenneth, (SMSgt USAF, Ret’d), 79, a resident of Prattville, AL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from Bethesda Baptist Church in the Independence Community, with Pastor Jim Otts and Reverend Charles Barnes officiating. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in the church cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Fulton proudly served his country for 31 years with the United States Air Force and was the recipient of several commendations and awards. Following his military career, he served in several civil service capacities at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL. Mr. Fulton was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Anita Jeannine Fulton, and his youngest daughter, Shirley Fulton Crumley. He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Fulton Tullo, Prattville, AL; two sons, James Robert (Hayden O’Rear) Fulton, Great Falls, Montana, and Kenneth Charles Fulton, Prattville, AL; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Ross (Frances) Fulton, Loganville, GA; and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Mike and Susan Romanowski, Montgomery, AL. Pallbearers will be The United States Air Force Honor Guard. The body of Mr. Fulton will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to his service. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Kathleen Norris Jones
JONES, Johnnie Kathleen Norris, 77, died peacefully at home in Prattville, AL, on Sunday, May 22, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Jones was born December 26, 1927, in Fayette, AL, the daughter of Johnny Thomas Norris and Estelle Newman Norris. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who was extremely devoted to her family and friends. Her life was her legacy and her love was her gift. Memories of her are the comfort we’ll keep in our hearts forever. For 16 years, Kathleen served on the Board of Registrars in Fayette County, AL, during which time she helped convert the voting registration to a new electronic system. While living in Athens, GA, she was a member of the Newcomer’s Club and a Board Member of the Georgia Dental Association. She moved to Prattville, AL in 1999 and was an active member of The First Baptist Church and the Ruth-Era Sunday School Class. She was also a Charter member of the Spinner’s Club, a member of the Prattville Study Club, and the Domino Club. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 59 years, Murray Eugene Jones, Prattville, AL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Murray Wayne and Nita Jones, Athens, GA, Michael Norris and Amy Stratton Jones, Gainesville, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Robyn Kathleen Jones and A. V. Moody, Greenville, SC; three grandchildren, A. V. Moody, III, and William Dean Moody, both of Greenville, SC, and Molly Meagan Jones, Gainesville, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Jo Norris and E. B. Franklin, Murphysboro, TN, and Helen Norris and Gaines Lawrence, Orlando, FL; honorary sister, Kathleen Durden, Prattville, AL, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and very devoted friends. GATES, Gary Edward, 65, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Thursday, December 14, 2006. Mr. Gates is survived by two daughters, Jada Campbell and Amber Leanne Gates; one son, Brian Gates; three grandchildren, Lacey and Heath Campbell, and Brian Gates, Jr.; step-father, William Clark; one sister, Sharon Davis, and fiancé, Candy Nowak. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rickey Gulledge; one son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Barbara Gulledge; one daughter, Shannon Crowe; four granddaughters, Heather Crowe, Chloe Gulledge, Courtney Gulledge, and Heaven Crowe; her mother, Mae McCord Hollon; three sisters, Sylvia (Gary) Pullen, Nell (Melvin) Graham, and Teresa (Robin) Stewart; two brothers, Gene Hollon and Charles (Vickie) Hollon; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
