NELSON, Mallory Eugene, 49, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 12, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Bobby Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. At the time of his death, Mallory was Manager of the Eastdale Ice Palace in Montgomery, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Eugene Nelson. He is survived by his beloved mother, Lelis Joyce Nelson; one brother, Ronald Nelson, both of Montgomery, AL; two nieces, Robin Nelson and Michelle Nelson; and two nephews, Cody Mallory Nelson and Wesley Adams Nelson. McKNIGHT, Walter Earl, 71, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died peacefully at home on Friday, April 20, 2007. Mr. McKnight is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley McKnight, Montgomery, AL; son, Walter L. McKnight and beloved daughter-in-law, Rosalie McKnight, Prattville, AL, and son, Barry McKnight, Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Walter L. PETERSON, Glenn A., 65, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2008, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Ione Peterson, and two brothers, Robert Peterson and Carl Peterson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Ruby Peterson; six daughters, Kimberly Peterson and her fiance’ Ronnie Burch, Catrina Peterson, Melissa (Michael) Cothran, Rhonda (Mark) Levesque, Glenda Hagans, and Darlene (Raymond) Longiaru; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Sara (Ed) Batson and June Bullock, and a host of nieces and nephews. McCAIN, Melanie Yarbrough, 33, a resident of Prattville, AL, affectionately known and loved as “Mel,” died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Johnnie S. Collier, Sr. and Ruby M. Collier, James Sidney “Gran” Yarbrough, Sr., and father-in-law, Baker Austin. Stephen Barry “Mag” Magnus
Magnus, Stephen Barry “Mag,” 58, a resident of Autaugaville, AL, passed away at the home on Sunday, October 9, 2005 after battling with multiple myeloma cancer. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2005, at 6:00 p.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with speakers Richard & Kaye Font and Dee Hardin officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Magnus was born in Dexter, Maine on July 26, 1947. Steve was a member of the American Legion Post 122, VFW Post 1349, Masonic Lodge 89, and the ICV motorcycle club. Mr. Magnus joined the USAF in 1966 and served during Vietnam in 1968. Mr. Magnus was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Magnus; father-in-law, Carl West. He is survived by beloved wife of twenty years, Doris Magnus of Autaugaville; three sons, Eric (Julee) Magnus of Linden, AL, Brett Magnus of Montgomery, AL, Keith (Holly) Bland of Enid, OK; two daughters, Traci (Troy) Knox and Kellie Moncrief both of Prattville, AL; mother, Pola Magnus of Montgomery, AL; one sister, Susan Magnus of Montgomery, AL; one brother, Andrew (Teresa) Magnus of Panama City, FL; mother-in-law, Brownie West of Autaugaville, AL; eleven grandchildren, Stephen Ingram, Kayla Magnus, Jerra Ware, Adam and Sarah Knox, Jessica and Dawson Moncrief, Alex , Braydon, Braxton, and Bryce Bland; two brother-in-laws, Benny (Loretta) West and Joe (Vicki) West; two sister-in-laws, Lisa (Buddy) McLendon, Pam Lambert; Lee Ann McCain and many numerous, loving nieces, nephews, who will miss “Uncle Mag,” especially Benji West. Harry Long
LONG, Jr., Harry William, 73, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 26, 2005, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Long honorably served his country for 20 years with the United States Air Force Police during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He later retired from the Department of Justice after having served 20 years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Long; two daughters, Rebecca (Andy) Camerio and Rosemary Long; two sons, Joey (Diana) Paffe and James (Sandy) Long; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mabel (Bill) Stottler. McCORD, Samuel “Sam,” Edwin, 88, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 27, 2007. He was also the owner and operator of McCord Shell Service Station and McCord Exxon Service Station in Prattville, as well as the owner of a produce shop at the corner of Gaddis and Main Streets. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Margie McCord; one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Jimmy Powell; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bobby” and Judy McCord; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Lucille McCord, Brewer and Elizabeth McCord; and a host of nieces and nephews.
