Mattie B. Bunch

Bunch, Mattie B., 71, a resident of Marbury, AL, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., from Faith Bible Church, with Reverend Frank Lowery officiating. Burial will follow, in Pineview Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Bunch was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and James O. Hicks; and one granddaughter, Angel Brock. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 51 years, T.O. Bunch; four sons, Leslie O. Bunch, David W. Bunch, Ronald K. Hennessee, and Darrell G. Bunch; two daughters, Regina C. (Gerald) Edwards and Kay Brock; five granddaughters, Gerina Cantrell, Kristy McReynolds, Heather Bunch, Misty Garner, and Dana Hennessee; eight grandsons, Billy Brock, Kelly Edwards, Brian Brock, Michael Bunch, Brandon Bunch, Casey Bunch, Blake Bunch, and John Bunch; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. Pallbearers will be Billy Brock, Brian Brock, Brandon Bunch, Blake Bunch, Michael Bunch, and Kelly Edwards.

Luna Luker

LUKER, Luna Gay, 85, a native of Clay County, died peacefully at his home in Prattville, AL, on Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Leroy Stringfield and Chaplain Larry Layne officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Luker was preceded in death by his son, Larry G. Luker. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Luker; daughter-in-law, Phoebe Luker; both of Prattville, AL; three grandsons, Glenn (Pami) Luker, Prattville, AL, Donny (Cheryl) Luker, Marietta, GA, and Todd (Beverly) Keese, Valley, AL; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Barron Luker, Lineville, AL; one sister, MacDean Smith, West Point, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Billy Foster, Keith Luker, Steve Luker, Chris Smith, Ronnie Lipham, and Tommy Ledford. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Betty MARTIN

MARTIN, Betty Jean Stanfield, 72, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 22, 2007, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor Rick Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Martin was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a long-time member of Fountain City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Carl Ray Martin; one grandson, Gregory Cody Martin; one sister, Jean Hodges; and two brothers, Billy Wayne Stanfield and Sonny Stanfield. Surviving to cherish her memories is her beloved spouse of 55 years, Loyal Winston Martin, Sr.; two sons, Winston (Karen) Martin, Jr. and Marty (Janice) Martin; three daughters, Elizabeth Wingard, Betty Ann (Stephen) Oberdeen, and Debbie Martin (Rodney) Logan; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Lorene Hill, Patricia Bishop, Mary Jon Laffin, and Margaret Davis; and two brothers, Bud Stanfield and Pete Stanfield. Active pallbearers will be Members of Fountain City Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Doris McGahee

McGAHEE, Doris Haygood, 81, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Greensprings Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at 3:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor Glenn Graham, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. McGahee was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend; a charter member of East Memorial Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Omega Sunday School Class; and an avid bridge player with her Thursday Morning Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, and the love of her life, Holmes Askew McGahee. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Swinhart (and husband Alan) of Prattville, AL; one son, Donald McGahee (and wife Teresa) of Alpharetta, GA; six grandchildren, Sunny Kalisky (and husband Pater) and Samantha Swinhart of Prattville, Jennifer and D. J. McGahee of Satsuma, AL; Olivia and Matthew McGahee of Alpharetta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Special appreciation is extended to her devoted and loving caregivers, Joan Austin and Ana McBride, and special friend, Sylvia Marshall as well as the staff of Greensprings Assisted Living and VistaCare Hospice. Pallbearers will be D. J. McGahee, Peter Kalisky, Charles Edmondson, Russ Still, Dwight Stafford, and Tom Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Gamble, Barney Deal, and Bobby Kelly. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mrs. McGahee loved flowers, which are welcomed, or donations may be made to East Memorial Baptist Church in Prattville or VistaCare Hospice in Montgomery.

Mary Moates

MOATES, Mary Wanda, 84, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2007, at Homewood of Greenville Health Care Facility. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from Prattville Memory Gardens, with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Moates was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Moates. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Bobby Caver; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Talbot; five grandchildren, Chris Caver, Jay (Lauren) Caver, Stacey (Connie) Talbot, Scott Talbot and Spencer (Kristin) Talbot; five great-grandchildren, Kevin Talbot, Jackson Caver, Taylor Talbot, Anna Caver, and Toby Talbot; daughter-in-law, Brenda Talbot; sister-in-law, Vera Moates, and several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the T. E. L. Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Prattville. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel one hour prior to her service on Tuesday morning 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Roy Lincoln

LINCOLN, Roy Norris, 65, a resident of Verbena, AL, died peacefully, on Monday, July 16, 2007, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007, at 6:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Minister Bob Terrell officiating. Mr. Lincoln proudly served his country during the Korean War and the Vietnam War as a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Mildred Lincoln; four daughters, Rhonda Dawn Lincoln, Mary Louise (William) Leatherwood, Christina Delaine Lincoln, and Audrey Celeste (Benjamin) Chance; four grandchildren; Kendall Payton Mims, Triston Andrew Lincoln, Ashlin Nicole Chance and Ricky Benjamin Chance; his mother, Gertrude Lonell Norris; one sister, Agnes Louise (Bill) Groffey; three brothers, Chris (Marie) Lincoln, Ernest (Linda) Lincoln, and Louie (Eva) Lincoln. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Friday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Luther Quintin Porch

Porch, Luther Quentin, 85, a resident of Millbrook, AL, died peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2005, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Dr. Leroy Stringfield and Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Porch is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lee Porch of Millbrook, AL; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Turner of Millbrook, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Marie Porch of Bessemer, AL; four grandchildren, Amanda Wynn and Samantha Porch, Bryan and Kate Hughes and their father, Buddy Hughes. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Judson College, P.O. Box 120, Marion, AL, 36756 in his memory. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.

John McAfee

McAFEE, John Redden, 64, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 7, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., from The First Baptist Church of Prattville, with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove No. 2 Cemetery, in Lawley, AL, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Mr. McAfee was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and an avid outdoorsman, who particularly loved fishing and hunting. He was a graduate of Maplesville High School, Class of 1961, where he excelled in basketball and football. Upon graduation, he was the recipient of an athletic scholarship to Auburn University. At Auburn University, he lettered in football in ’63, ’64, and ’65 and played in the Orange Bowl and the Liberty Bowl. He was also a three-time heavyweight wrestling champion. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and forever remained a faithful supporter of Auburn University. At the time of his death, he was a dedicated salesman with Pratt Industries (Target Container) where he earned membership in the Chairmen’s Club for top producing salesmen. He was also an ordained Deacon at First Baptist Church of Prattville and a member of the “Teller” Committee.
Mr. McAfee was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rena McAfee, and one sister, Juanita McAfee Smith. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Carole P. McAfee; three sons, John Redden “Jay” McAfee, Jr., and his spouse, Amy, Jeffrey Bryan McAfee, and his spouse, Deborah, and James Robert McAfee; seven grandchildren, Jaden Elizabeth McAfee, Bryan Howard McAfee, Mary Pagel McAfee, Brannon Eagerton, Rebekah (Todd) Bradford, Sydney Eagerton, and Rachel Eagerton; two sisters, Marjorie (Curtis) Smith, and Joyce (Donald) Barrett; one brother, Bobby (Faye) Roy; one brother-in-law, Coleman T. Smith; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eddie and Helen Pitman; and two brothers-in-law, Eddie L. (Marybeth) Pitman, and Robert C. (Chea) Pitman. Pallbearers will be Bobby McAfee, William McAfee, Freddie Smith, Ed Smith, Greg Smith, and David Williams. In memory of Mr. McAfee, memorial contributions may be sent to the Auburn Football Lettermen Club Scholarship Endowment, P. O. Box 828, Auburn, AL 36831, or to one’s favorite charity. The family will receive friends at The First Baptist Church of Prattville on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Jeanetta Myers

MYERS, Jeanetta Juanita, 75, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 31, 2005, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Stewart Grenfell. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 55 years, Robert Myers; two daughters, Connie Grenfell and Linda Driver; three sons, Richard (Patricia) Myers, Michael (Pam) Myers, and William Myers; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Horn and Margaret Dilsaver; and one brother, Frank Lowe. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
