Charles Mann

Mann, Charles Edward, 70, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2005, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Mann was preceded in death by his son John Joseph Mann. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Marilyn Mann of Montgomery, AL; one daughter, Cynthia Sullivan of Wetumpka, AL; one son, James Paul Mann of Montgomery, AL; one grandchild, Donald Edward Sullivan; two sisters, Grace Newberry of Montgomery, AL, and Ruby (Glenn) Peterson of Prattville, AL. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Della Jean McGowan

McGOWAN, Della Jean, 58, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 1, 2007. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at 5:00 p.m., from the Prattville Community Church, with Pastor Bobby Hicks officiating. Mrs. McGowan was a devoted mother and grandmother who leaves four children to cherish her memories: Ronnie (Ricky) Painter, Roger (Christine) Vaughn, Cassandra Glenn, and Elizabeth (Wayne) Merrill; and 11 grandchildren.

Thomas Parker

PARKER, Thomas Glynn, 72, a resident of Autaugaville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Baptist South Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Glen Brock and Reverend Dan Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Parker was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Grace Parker; and two brothers, Robert Parker and William Parker. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved spouse, Sandra Parker, Autaugaville, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Selina Parker, Prattville, AL; two grandchildren, Mason Parker and Hanna Grace Parker; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Peggy Parker, Coldwater, MS; and his loyal companion, “Rocky.” Pallbearers will be Phil Burdett, John Burton, Judge Alfred Booth, Mac Clark, Art Wilkerson, Sheriff Herbie Johnson, Whit Moncrief, and Mayor Jim Byard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Autauga County Republican Party. In honor of Mr. Parker, memorial tributes may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 3054 C McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111, in lieu of flowers. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Ila Little

LITTLE, Ila Williamson, 83, a resident of Birmingham, AL, died peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2005, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend _________ officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, AL, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Little was born in Oaky Streak, AL and was a long-time resident of the Eastern Birmingham area and an active member of Huffman Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, George Little, Sr. She is survived by one son, George Little, Jr., Center Point, AL; two granddaughters; and one sister, Annis Peacock, Montgomery, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, Southeast Affiliate, 1685 Terrell Mill Road, Marietta, GA 30067-8320. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Monday afternoon from twelve noon until service time.

Louis A. Martin

MARTIN, Louis A., 84, a resident of Millbrook, AL, formerly of Dixfield, Maine, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., from St. Michael and All Angels’ Episcopal Church, with Rector Mark Waldo, Jr. officiating. Mr. Martin proudly served his country during WWII in the South Pacific in the United States Army Mr. Martin was born in Aroostook County, Maine to Theodore and Clara Martin on June 18, 1923. He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 49 years, Joan Martin. He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Martin, Peru, ME, and Malinda (Sanford) Brannon, Wetumpka, AL; three sons, Arthur L. “Marty” (Karen) Martin, Millbrook, AL, John (Jan) Martin, Carthage, ME, and Vance Martin, Dixfield, ME; nine loving grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Michael & all Angels' Church Building fund, P.O. Box 586, Millbrook, AL, 36054.

Junior Carl Murray

Murray, Junior Carl “JC”, 76, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Sunday, April 15, 2007. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday April 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Snowdoun, AL, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty years, Anne Ruth Hitson Murray; two brothers, J.D. Murray and Max Murray, and his parents. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Carl and Norma Murray, Prattville, AL; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Glenda Sue and Virgil Herbert, Ramer, AL, Donna Ruth and Joe Strickland, Brandon, MS, and Rita Lee Chandler, Prattville, AL; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Sherrill Speagle, Cullman, AL; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Murray, Jr., Michael Murray, Nicholas Chandler, Andrew Smith, Ryan Page, Gary Cremeens, and Chuck Johnson.

John Patrick

PATRICK, John Cleveland, (USAF, Major, Ret’d), 86, a resident of Prattville, AL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Chaplain Jim Reece officiating. Burial will follow, with military honors, in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Patrick was born on August 22, 1919. He proudly served his country for 26 years with the United States Air Force. Following his military career, he later retired from the State of Alabama, Alabama Beverage Control Board Warehouse. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Priscilla Gayle Patrick; one brother, Carson Vestus Patrick; one sister, Nannie Mae Pritchett, and two sisters-in-law, Alice Patrick and Hazel Patrick. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Miriam Braman Patrick, Prattville, AL; two daughters, Sharon and Jerry Potts, Wetumpka, AL, Jannis and Kenny Divin, Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Christopher Scott Haynie, Lance Corporal John Douglas Womack, and Jessica Lynn Womack; one brother, Morris Patrick, Wetumpka, AL; a special aunt, Ruthie Belle, and several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted, but memorial contributions may be sent to the Order of the Eastern Star. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Eunice Pittman

PITTMAN, Eunice Baker, 88, a resident of Coosada, AL, died peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor Mike Stephens and Pastor Earl Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Pittman was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a long-time member of Catoma Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL, where she was a faithful member of the Bethany Sunday School Class. She loved all her classmates and each one was a very dear and devoted friend. In 1994, she retired from Prattville Apparel in Prattville, AL, after 22 years of continuous employment. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas and Alma Baker of Kingston, AL; six brothers, and five sisters. Surviving to cherish her memories is her beloved husband of 67 years, O. V. Pittman; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Gayle Pittman, all of Coosada, AL; three grandchildren, Valerie Pittman (John Tierce), Millbrook, AL, Lynn (Garry) Richards, Bangor SK, Canada, and Don Duck, Brent, AL; five great-grandchildren, Morgan and Taylor Duck, Rebekah, Evan, and Caroline Richards; one sister, Lillian Taylor; one brother, Wendford Baker, and many nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be her nephews, Bobby Baker, David Baker, Kenneth Baker, Greg Baker, Mark Baker, and Mickey Cauley. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Baker, Haywood Baker, Harold Donaldson, Max Dempsey and all members of the Catoma Baptist Seniors #3 and the Bethany Sunday School Classes. Memorial tributes may be sent to the Catoma Baptist Church Building Fund, 4300 Old Selma Road, Montgomery, AL 36108. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

John LOCKE

LOCKE, Jr., John, 73, a resident of Autaugaville, AL, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, in Selma, AL, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Kenny Hatcher officiating. Entombment will follow in The Memorial Mausoleun in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Locke honorably served his country as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Jane Locke. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Michele Locke, Sr., Jonathan and Merly Lopez Locke, Josh and Jennifer Locke; one stepson, Curtis Dale Heath; three daughters, Monatha Locke, Ericka Locke, and Alethia Moore; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Hardy, Wanda Smith, Vicki (Chris) Smith, and Renee Locke; one brother, Jim Locke, and special friend and caregiver, Mary Locke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Red Cross, 8111 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
