PRUETT, Jeanette Evelyn, 76, a resident of Millbrook, AL, died peacefully, on Monday, January 28, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Randall Pruett, Speaker Spencer Williamson, and Reverend John Varner officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Pruett was preceded in death by her husband, James Hayden Pruett, and one son, Kenny Pruett. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Williamson, and Sandra (Ronnie) Brown; one son, Ronnie (Sue) Pruett; one sister, Lois Freeman; one daughter-in-law, Donna Pruett; eight grandchildren, Ken (Jerisha) Williamson, Spencer (Becky) Williamson, Danny Brown, Dana Brown, Kelly (Chris) Adams, Kevin (Tonya) Pruett, Kim (Brian) Speigner, and Ron (Renee) Pruett; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Serving as active pallbearers will be Ken Williamson, Spencer Williamson, Ron Pruett, Danny Brown, Kevin Pruett, and Corey Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole, Preston, and Mason Williamson, and Dalton Speigner. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Bonnie Mathis
MATHIS, Bonnie Bone, 90, a resident of Prattville, AL, former resident of Twin City, GA, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., from the Twin City First Baptist Church, with Reverend Franklin Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery. Mrs. Mathis was born in Madison County, Georgia, October 22, 1916, the daughter of William Lemuel and Abi Streetman Bone. She lived in Commerce until 1934 when she married the late J. F. (Foots) Mathis and moved to Twin City, Georgia. She was a homemaker and a member of Twin City Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, served as a Sunday School teacher, and as an R A Leader. She was also a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Laurene Coleman Circle. Mrs. Mathis also served on the board of Emanuel County Family and Children Services from 1959 until 1998. This is the longest term any person has served in that position in the State of Georgia. She was also active in various civic and social organizations which included the ECI Band Boosters, Eastern Star, her garden club, and bridge clubs. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Patricia Mathis, Prattville, AL, Bill and Janet Mathis, Statesboro, GA; four grandchildren, Lisa Mathis, Kennesaw, GA, Joseph (Amy) Mathis, Brent, AL, Bill (Michelle) Mathis, Statesboro, GA, and Russell (Nikkia) Mathis, Metter, GA; and four great-grandchildren, Joseph and Elizabeth Mathis, Brent, AL, Sarah and Emma Mathis, Statesboro, GA. Pallbearers will be Joseph Mathis, Bill Mathis, Jr., Russell Mathis, Sam Massey, Dal Durden, and Loy Cowart. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary in Swainsboro, GA, on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the First Baptist Church, Youth Department, P. Anthony "Tony" Marzano
MARZANO, Anthony “Tony,” 64, a resident of Wetumpka, AL, died at home on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2006, at 2:30 p.m., from Santuck Baptist Church with Pastor Morgan Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Marzano was born September 15, 1941, in Chicago, IL, to the late William Vito and Mary Rose Vertucci Marzano. On October 22, 1977, he married Angie Taylor in Woodstock, IL. An avid fisherman, he especially enjoyed his trips to Canada with friends and his beloved nephew, Dave Davis. He said he always felt closest to God in the Canadian wilderness. Anthony was preceded in death by five brothers, Daniel, Joseph, John, William, and James, and one sister, Rose Huff. He is survived by his wife, Angie; two sons, Taylor and Daniel; four beloved grandchildren, Meggan, Danielle, Breanna, and Brandon Marzano, AZ; two sisters, Ann (Dean) Luckey, and Louise (Williard) Valentine, all of IL; one brother, Leonard Marzano, CA; and many nieces, nephews, loving in-laws and friends. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Sunday evening from 3:30 until 5:00 p.m.
Thomas Mullins
MULLINS, Thomas Lee, 66, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 9, 2007, after an extended illness. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. He was well known in the community as the owner and operator of T. L. Mullins Construction Company. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Lee Mullins. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Mullins; former wife and friend, Karol Mullins; five daughters, Lisa (Jim) Stacey, Rona D. Mullins, Kristine K. Mullins, Karen Sue Mullins, and Ragan Joy Mullins; two step-daughters, SueAnn (J.D.) Davis and Leslie Walker; one son, Christopher Thomas Mullins; ten grandchildren, James Stacey, Michael Stacey, Joshua Armstrong, Kristen Armstrong, Brandon Mullins, Kailey Mullins, Jessica (Jody) Morrow, Gary (Tina) Denton, Michael Petty, and Toni (Paul) Nieckarz; three great-grandchildren, Jasper Carroll, Nella Rae Denton, and Jayce Nieckarz; four sisters, Glima Sue Mullins, Emma Jo Lee, Brenda Mullins, and Patsy Hill; and three brothers, Charles Mullins, George Mullins and Kenneth Mullins. A visitation will be held at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at which time the family will receive friends. McELVEEN, Daniel Cannon, Jr., 62, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2007. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 4:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with full military honors, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. McElveen proudly served his country as a MSgt. in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle R. McElveen. McDONALD, Sherry Diane, 56, a resident of Hope Hull, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at a Montgomery hospital. Mrs. McDonald is survived by two daughters, Michelle McDonald and James Livingston, and Christina McDonald and Neil Edwards; five grandchildren, Ashton McDonald, Haley McDonald, Hannah McDonald, Daniel Livingston, and KateLynn Livingston; one brother, Kenny (Candy) Easterling; two nieces, Sheina Owens and Jennifer Tinnon, and one nephew, Shawn Easterling. Opal McCord
McCORD, Opal Hollon, 86, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at a local health care facility. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., from the Kingston Methodist-Protestant Church, with Pastor Ron Giles and Reverend James Parson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. McCord was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. McCord; one granddaughter, Cynthia Minor; one son-in-law, James Minor; and parents, John and Maggie Hollon. She is survived by two daughters, Nell Minor, Prattville, AL, and Connie (Gene) Lyle, Wetumpka, AL; one son, Wayne (Linda) McCord, Prattville, AL; eight grandchildren, Teresa (Andy) Darby, Jimmy (Katrina) Minor, Kristi (Bobby) Rogers, Doug (Michelle) McCord, Cathee (Bob) Gipson, Amy (Grady) Myers, Nancy (Ken) Dodd, Steve (Meloni) Carter; and 17 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Minor, Doug McCord, Steve Carter, Bobby Rogers, Andy Darby, Bob Gipson, Grady Myers, and Ken Dodd. Donald Mixon
MIXON, Donald Alan, 51, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His life will be celebrated on Monday, May 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Leonard Howell officiating. Mr. Mixon honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. At the time of his death, he was employed with UPS-Supply Chain Solutions in Montgomery, AL. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Dessie Anne Mixon; one daughter, Christa Anne Acker; his parents, Hendon and Vera Mixon, all of Prattville, AL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and A. J. McDanal, Keller, TX, Susan and Thomas Hatfield, Highland Home, AL; one brother, James Mixon, Montgomery, AL; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie and William Potter, Winter Springs, FL; nine nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and co-workers. Christine Pinson
Pinson, Christine S., 88, a resident of Prattville, AL died peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2008. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial with the Reverend Gary P. Burton and the Reverend Dave Burns officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Known to friends as “Blackie”, Mrs. Pinson retired as a Registered Nurse and served her community as a volunteer in numerous capacities. She was the widow of Lloyd C. Pinson and the mother of the late Patricia Pinson. Mrs. Pinson is survived by her sister, Annette (O.Z.) Rowe; one daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Dozier; two sons, L.C. Pinson, Jr., and Steve Pinson; three granddaughters, Ellen (Randy) Mayer, Jeanne (James) Clayton, and Jessica (Ryan) Knight; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas Mayer, Troup Clayton and Lydia Clayton. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial one hour prior to her service.
