Mamie Maggie Johnson
MONROEVILLE - Mamie Maggie Johnson, a homemaker and member of McCullough Christian Center, died Saturday at her home. She was 95.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Monroe County and lived in Monroeville.
Survivors include five sons, Rayford Johnson of Megargel, Clifton Johnson of Opelousas, La., Joe Johnson of Megargel, Ed Johnson of Atmore and Kenneth Johnson of Fountain; three daughters, Bobbie Lee Gnatt of Little River, Wilma Jones of Bay Minette and Sue Godwin of Monroeville; 33 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial in Johnson Cemetery in Goodway.

Inez Rowell
MONROEVILLE - Inez Rowell, owner of the former Snowden's Dress Shop in Monroeville, died Friday. She was 64.
Mrs. Rowell was a native of Monroe County and lived in Monroeville. She was a member of South Side Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Brewer of Monroeville; her mother, Annie G. Ikner of Monroeville; two brothers, Woodrow Ikner of Monroeville and Johnny Ikner of Mexia; four sisters, Mattie Overton of Jackson, Mary Mason of Panama City, Fla., Pauline Cornelison of Andalusia and Ann Thompson of Monroeville; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. Burial will be in Pineville Cemetery.

Coney Dean Rivers
MONROEVILLE - Coney Dean "C.D." Rivers, a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Monroeville, died Wednesday in a Mobile hospital. He was 65.
Rivers was a lifelong resident of Monroe County living in Monroeville.
Survivors include his wife, Elise Rivers of Monroeville; one son, Coney Dean Matthews of Tunnel Springs, Ala.; three daughters, Carrie Rivers of Pensacola, Geraldine McMillan of Monroeville and Jackie Williams of Tunnel Springs; three brothers, W.C. Rivers, Ishmael Rivers and Allen Rivers, all of Monroeville; two sisters, Mattie Lovelace of Moss Point, Miss., and Rosie Kidd of Monroeville; and six grandchildren.
Services are set for 1 p.m. today at Pine Flat Baptist Church in Hybart, Ala., with burial in the churchyard cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson, Ala., is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen G. Bryant
MONROEVILLE - Kathleen Grace Bryant, a Conecuh County native and Monroeville resident, died Thursday. She was 71.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Kay Anderson of Mexia; one son, James Lawrence of Wetumpka; one brother, William E. Grace of Monroeville; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen.

Jerre Oscar Pierson II
MONROEVILLE - Jerre Oscar Pierson II, a native of Demopolis and resident of Monroeville, died Sunday in a Mobile hospital. He was 64.
Pierson worked with Douglas Aircraft in Southern California. He moved in 1970 to Monroeville, where he was a businessman for 25 years and retired in 1994.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Gideons and Community Concerts Association and served on Monroe Academy's board of directors and as president of the MA Quarterback Club.
Pierson, a classical pianist, sang in the choir and served as a deacon and Sunday school secretary at First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terese A. Pierson; two children, Jerre D. Pierson III of Birmingham and Linda Pierson of New York City; two brothers, Sam Campbell Pierson Jr. of Houston and John Bennett Pierson of Beaumont, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m., today at First Baptist Church in Monroeville. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for Foreign Missions, the Gideons or a favorite charity.

Cornelia Andress
PERDUE HILL - Cornelia Ann Andress, 95, a member of Perdue Hill Presbyterian Church, died Sunday at an area hospital.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Perdue Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas W. Andress of Charlotte, N.C., and Walter G. Andress of Tuscaloosa; one daughter, Ann Broughton of Perdue Hill; three sisters, Lucy F. Johnson, Ida M. Gaillard and Mary Palmer Straughn, all of Perdue Hill; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville, with visitation one hour before the funeral and burial in McConnico Cemetery in Perdue Hill.

Marshall Nettles III
MONROEVILLE - Marshall "Mark" Colon Nettles III, a forester with McMillan-Bloedel, died Sunday at the age of 36.
A native of Monroe County, Nettles lived in Mexia.
Survivors include his parents, M.C. and Opal Nettles of Mexia, Ala.; his wife, Kim Searcy of Mexia; one stepson, Brannon Jordan of Mexia; three brothers, Terry Nettles, Roger Austin and Gary Nettles, all of Mexia; one sister, Pat Dawson of Mexia; and his grandmother, Lula Nettles of Mexia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. Services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mexia Baptist Church with burial in Mexia Cemetery.
