Vada E. Kendrick (1 of 2)

MONROEVILLE - Vada Elizabeth Kendrick, a native of Georgiana and resident of Monroeville, died Friday. She was 82.

She is survived by three daughters, Angelon W. Bailey of Frisco City, Martha Vallery of Auburn and Karen Sacramento of Georgiana; one son, James S. Kendrick Jr. of Atlanta; three sisters, Mae Hanks of Kalamazoo, Mich., Pauline Vogel of Peachtree City, Ga. and Bunny Wester of Marianna, Fla.; two brothers, Bernard Sims of Kingston N.Y. and Lilburn Mixon of Georgiana; seven grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at 1:15 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.

Ida Mae Cobb

Ida Mae Cobb, a homemaker and lifelong resident of Perdue Hill, died Sunday. She was 89.

Mrs. Cobb is survived by two daughters, Inez Summerlin of Repton and Mary Alton Gurley of Silver Creek, Miss.; one brother, Oscar Wesley Draughton of Magnolia Springs; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will begin at 2 p.m., today at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at McConnico Cemetery.

Dwight W. Roberts

MONROEVILLE - Dwight Wayne Roberts, who was an electrician with Southern Pine Electric Co-op for 33 years, died Friday at a Monroeville hospital. He was 71.

A resident of Sevierville, Tenn., Roberts once resided in Evergreen.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Janie" Roberts of Sevierville; a son, George Wayne Roberts of Sacaton, Ariz.; two daughters, Becky Miniard of Castleberry and Le Ann Middleton of Monroeville; a brother, Bill Roberts of Portage, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Roberts of Sevierville; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. Services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial Thursday at Middle Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Sevierville, Tenn.

Mark C. Lamont

FOUNTAIN - Mark Clark Lamont, a lifelong resident of Fountain, died Monday at an area hospital. The equipment operator was 53.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Lamont of Fountain; two daughters, Frances and Laura Lamont of Fountain; four sisters, Peggy Jones and Arlene Lamont of Panama City, Fla., Anna Grace Hawsey of Lyeffion and Willie Mae Wiggens of Mexia; and one brother, James Eugene Lamont Jr. of Monroeville.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. today at Fountain Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home.

Roberta Stallworth

MONROEVILLE - Roberta Delores Stallworth, a former substitute teacher with the Monroe County school system, died Tuesday at her home. She was 73.

Mrs. Stallworth, a native of Dallas, was a resident of Monroeville.

She formerly had worked as a cosmetologist.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Johnnie King of Chicago, Ed Moore of Hayneville, Ala., and Ervin King of Cincinnati; and two sisters, Mary King Henry of Philadelphia and Minnie Goldsby of Orrville, Ala.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 tonight at Jones Funeral Home in Monroeville. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in Pineville Cemetery.

Helen Ruth Aubin

URIAH - Helen Ruth Aubin, a native of Monroe County who resided in Uriah, died Saturday at a local nursing facility. She was 65.

Mrs. Aubin is survived by her son, William Jerry Brown of Mexia; her mother, Ruth Carden of Uriah; two brothers, Hubert Brown of Atmore and James S. Brown of Goodway, Ala.; a sister, Ernestine Gunn of Walnut Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. at Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be at Semirah Springs Cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville is in charge of arrangements.
