FRISCO CITY - Louise Whatley King, a native of Monroe County who resided in Frisco City, died Saturday. She was 65.
Mrs. King worked as a seamstress for Vanity Fair Mills of Monroeville and Medline Industries of Frisco City. She was a member of Frisco City Holiness Church.
She is survived by a son, William Ben Whatley of Frisco City; two daughters, Lois Whatley of Excel and Pam Whatley Balley of Little River; a brother, Pete Wiggins of Mexia; two sisters, Frances Turberville of Monroeville and Carrie Wellons of Frisco City; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Frisco City Holiness Church, with burial at Excel Cemetery.
Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville is handling arrangements.

Dixie L. King
MONROEVILLE - Dixie Louise King, a retired quality control employee with Vanity Fair, died Monday at a Florida hospital. She was 85.
Mrs. King, a resident of Monroeville, was a member of Bermuda United Methodist Church. She had also attended Excel Methodist Church most of her life.
Survivors include two sons, Paul King of Bermuda, Ala., and Dr. Thomas King of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one daughter, Norma Clark of Daphne; one sister, Lois Sims of Mobile; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. Services are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Excel United Methodist Church in Excel, with burial in Excel Cemetery.

Bertha Mae Kennedy
MONROEVILLE - Bertha Mae Kennedy, a homemaker and member of Southside Baptist Church in Monroeville, died Monday at a Mobile hospice. She was 66.
Mrs. Kennedy was a native of Monroe County and resident of Monroeville.
Survivors include her husband, John N. Kennedy Jr. of Monroeville; one daughter, Doris Loyd of Theodore; one brother, Eugene Brantley of Roberta, Ga.; four sisters, Bonnie Parker of Prattville, Ala., Ellen Lofton of Pensacola, Pauline Flowers of Hawkinsville, Ga., and Betty Miller of Euric, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville, with burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Monroeville.

Ila Mae Sawyer
FRISCO CITY - Ila Mae Sawyer, who had worked for Vanity Fair Mills in Monroeville, died Tuesday at an area hospital. She was 83.
Mrs. Sawyer, a native of Conecuh County, was a resident of Frisco City and a member of Frisco City United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, William P. Sawyer of Montgomery; her brother, Homer Hart of Dothan, Ala.; her sister, Mary Beth Hyde of Evergreen, Ala.; and one granddaughter.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Frisco City United Methodist Church, with burial in Union Cemetery in Frisco City. Monroe Chapel Funeral Home of Monroeville is in charge of arrangements.

James Snowden
MEXIA - James Edward Snowden, an employee of Billy Barnes Trucking Co., died Monday at an area hospital. He was 48.
Snowden was a native of Monroe County and a resident of Mexia, where he was a member of AOH Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle Snowden of Mexia; three sons, Jamison Snowden, Triaskie Salter and Roger Salter, all of Mexia; one daughter, Tieasha Salter of Mexia; seven brothers, George Nash, Charlie Snowden, Claude Wayne Snowden, Donald Fountain, S.J. Snowden, Jerome Bivins and Rodney Bivins, all of Mexia; four sisters Angelia Chaney, Gwen Andrews and Kathy Bivins, all of Mexia, and Clara Pendleton of Detroit; and five grandchildren.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at Jones Unity Funeral Home in Monroeville with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery in Mexia.

Mary I. Driver
PETERMAN - Mary Ida Driver, owner and operator of Driver's Store in Tunnel Springs for 45 years, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 66.
Mrs. Driver, who resided in Peterman, was a native of Burnt Corn. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Fletcher Driver Jr. of Peterman; three daughters, Mary Patricia Kirkland of Excel, Susan Lynn Hudson of Tunnel Springs and Bobbie Nell Griffith of Bermuda; two sisters, Mildred Harris of Mobile and Sara Ann Wright of Groveland, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville, with burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Skinnertown.

Doris I. Raybon
EIGHT MILE - Doris Ikner Raybon, a native of McKenzie, Ala., who resided in Eight Mile, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 76.
Mrs. Raybon was a former resident of Monroe County and a member of Goodway Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Godwin of Chickasaw and Tina Hulcher of Mobile; a brother, Winston Day of Dixon, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Goodway Baptist Church, with burial at Sowell Old Field Cemetery in Goodway.
