Ivey Kennedy Rumbley
MONROEVILLE - Ivey Kennedy Rumbley, who retired as a nurse from Monroe County Hospital, died Monday at the hospital. She was 82.
Mrs. Rumbley was a lifelong resident of Monroeville and a member of First Baptist Church of Monroeville.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Rumbley of Pensacola Beach, and Dick Rumbley Houston; one brother, John Kennedy of Monroeville; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville, where services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Rumbley Cemetery in Peterman, Ala.

Earl S. Booker
EVERGREEN - Earl Swenson Booker, a lifelong resident of Evergreen, died Tuesday. He was 86.
Booker, a member of Lone Star Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church, had worked for the city of Monroeville and had been a farmer.
He is survived by five sons, Travis Booker, Larry Booker and Marty Booker of Monroeville, Bill Booker of Robertsdale and Johnny Booker of Evergreen; three daughters, Lois Duce of Birmingham, Melba McKenzie of Reston, Va., and Charlotte Hayes of Frisco City; three brothers, Robert Batt Booker and Melvin Booker of Evergreen, and Samuel Booker of Peterman; one sister, Bernice White of Pensacola; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Lone Star Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church in Pine Orchard, with burial in Lone Star Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Mattie Hixon
MONROEVILLE - Mattie "Grandma" Hixon, a homemaker and resident of Monroeville, died Tuesday at her home. She was 88.
Mrs. Hixon was a Monroe County native and member of Carry Mount Missionary Baptist Church in Monroeville.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha Williams of Jacksonville, Fla., Julia Burroughs of Birmingham and Minnie Peoples of Tampa, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Monroeville. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Carry Mount Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Gladys Mason Hines
MONROEVILLE - Gladys Mason Hines, a member of First Baptist Church of Monroeville, died Thursday in a nursing facility in Mobile. She was 96.
Mrs. Hines was a native of Wilcox County and had been a resident of Monroeville.
Survivors include her son, James Thomas Hines Jr. of Mobile; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Monroeville, with visitation at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Pineville Cemetery, with Johnson Funeral Home of Monroeville in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Monroeville, or a favorite charity.

Lela Bradley
PETERMAN - Lela Bradley, a homemaker and member of the Church of God Pentecostal of Monroeville, died March 18 at the age of 91.
Mrs. Bradley, a native of Monroe County, was the eldest mother of her church.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Bradley and Clarence Bradley Jr. of Mobile; two daughters, Vonscile Harrison of Monroeville and Lucille Poindexter of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Joseph Kyles of Houston; three sisters, Irena Ovaten of Dothan, Alice McCorvery of Daphne and Leona Kyles of Mobile; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Church of God Pentecostal, with Jones Funeral Home of Monroeville in charge of arrangements.

Sam G. Andress Jr.
MEXIA - Sam G. Andress Jr., a member of Mexia Baptist Church, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 71.
Andress was a lifelong resident of Mexia.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Andress of Mexia; his mother, Thelma Andress of Peterman, Ala.; two sons, Michael Andress of Opelika, Ala., and Sam G. Andress III of Monroeville; one daughter, Tammy Lankford of Mexia; one sister, Erin Ramer of Peterman; and four grandchildren.
Services are set for 3 p.m. today at Mexia Baptist Church, with burial in Mexia Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home on Monroeville is handling arrangements.

Lue Ethel McCorvey
PETERMAN - Lue Ethel McCorvey, a homemaker and member of Amity Baptist Church in Tunnel Springs, died Wednesday at the age of 76.
Mrs. McCorvey was a native of Monroe County and resident of Peterman.
Survivors include her sons; her daughter; her brothers; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 3:30 p.m. today at Amity Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Jones Funeral Home is Monroeville is handling arrangements.
