Barbara C. Mayson
ATMORE - Barbara Currie Mayson, a retired cotton buyer with the Frank Currie Cotton Gin, died Wednesday in Atmore. She was 89.
Mrs. Mayson was a native and resident of Atmore.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Hagen-Shmuns of Columbia, S.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Atmore Public Library.

Everline W. Forney
ATMORE - Everline Williams Forney, a retiree of Greenlawn Hospital in Atmore, died Sunday in Fort Lauderdale.
Mrs. Forney, a native of Uriah, Ala., was a resident of Atmore for more than 60 years.
Survivors include nine children; one sister, Mazie English of Fort Lauderdale; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be after 5 p.m. today at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore, with services at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Alvie E. Morris
ATMORE - Alvie Etheridge Morris, a member of Westside Baptist Church, died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Morris was a lifelong resident of Atmore.
Survivors include her husband, Claude J. Morris of Atmore; four daughters, Carolyn Davis of Atmore, Jeanette Stewart of Bay Minette, Voncile Ganey of Stockton and Claudia Jean Dawson of Atmore; two brothers, Hilbert D. Etheridge of Perdido and Buddy Etheridge of Atmore; two sisters, Ethel Marshall of Atmore and Margie Griffith of Mobile; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Atmore Memorial Chapel, with services at 3 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Pine Level Cemetery.

Comer Lee Lassitter
ATMORE - Comer Lee Lassitter, a retired welder and boilermaker with Local No. 112 of Mobile, died Sunday in Mobile. He was 74.
A native of McCullough, Ala., Lassitter resided in Atmore, where he attended First Assembly of God Church. The World War II veteran was a member of the hunting club in the Huxford community.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Smith Lassitter of Atmore; a son, Tony Lassitter of Atmore; four daughters, Dianna Rolin, Kathy Jowers and Barbara Allison, all of Atmore, and Jackie Lassitter of Chicago; four brothers, Milford Lassitter, Rubert Lassitter and Russell Lassitter, all of Atmore, and Marshall Lassitter of Davisville, Fla.; two sisters, Ada Ruth Cumbie of Little River, Ala., and Shirley White of Atmore; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Melvin Hetzel Sr.
ATMORE - Melvin Doyle Hetzel Sr., a member of Presley Street Baptist Church, died Saturday. He was 68.
Hetzel was a veteran of the Korean War. A resident of Atmore, he was a native of Hill City, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ulynn Hetzel of Atmore; three sons, Melvin Doyle Hetzel Jr. and Gary Allen Hetzel, both of Atmore, and Matthew Ivan Hetzel of Jackson, Miss.; his stepmother, Esther Hetzel of Salina, Ky.; three brothers, David Lambert of Pensacola, Fla., Dale Lambert of Laurel, Miss., and Gregory Hetzel; five sisters, Della Debson of Seattle, Francis White of Holton, Ky., Ruth McGuire of Everett, Wash., Robie Harris of WaKeeney, Kan., and Betty Greb of Texas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore. Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Presley Street Baptist Church, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Kindle Taylor
BOONEVILLE - Kindle Taylor, a retired farmer, died Wednesday in Booneville. He was 81.
The native was a resident of Booneville near Atmore. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Myron Taylor of Booneville; two daughters, June Brown of Atmore and Judy Lukers of Pensacola; two brothers, Austin Taylor and James Taylor, both of Booneville; two sisters, Opal Drew of Booneville and Margene Allen of Pensacola; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore. Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lucy K. Miller
Services took place Wednesday for Lucy Kervin Miller, who was a retired beautician and a cosmetology instructor. Mrs. Miller, 82, died Sunday.
A Brewton resident, she was a native of Red Level in Covington County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Monroeville.
She is survived by her son, Hugh Miller of Brewton, and two grandchildren.
Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville handled arrangements.
