Maurine Rutherford
ATMORE - Maurine J. Rutherford, a homemaker and Atmore resident, died Thursday in Atmore.
Mrs. Rutherford, 98, was an Alabama native.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Hurt of Montgomery, Maurine Nelson of Birmingham and Sarah Hall of Canoe, Ala.; a sister, Sarah J. Harvey of College Park, Md.; five grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. today in River Ridge Cemetery in Franklin, Ala. Arrangements are by Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home of Atmore.

William F. Corman
ATMORE - William Franklin "Bill" Corman, who had been the second president of the Atmore Chamber of Commerce, died Sunday. He was 83.
Corman, who had served as vice president of Touch 1, was a native of Louisville, Ky.
A graduate of the University of Oregon and Harvard University, he had been president of Southland Telephone Co. and held various positions in telephone associations.
Corman was founding director of the Atmore United Fund and Escambia Academy. He was also a former president and member of the Atmore Lions Club. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Atmore where he was a former ruling elder.
He served as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Jim Corman of Atmore; three daughters, Julie Johnson and Myna Hayles, both of Atmore, and Paige Jones of Pensacola; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services are set for 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Atmore, with visitation in the church's Fellowship Hall immediately following the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home of Atmore in charge.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church; or the Lions Club Community Center.

Coy L. Cain
APPLETON - Coy Lee Cain, a retiree of the Box Division of T.R. Miller Mill Co., died Tuesday at an area hospital. He was 73.
Cain, a Lenox, Ala., native, was a resident of the Appleton community near Brewton since 1958. He was a charter member of the Appleton Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee.
An accomplished musician and singer, he enjoyed bluegrass gospel music.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Esther Davidson Cain of Appleton; a daughter, Sharmon Johnson of Natalia, Texas; a son, Wayne Cain of Robertsdale; two brothers, L.V. Cain of Castleberry, Ala., and Roy Cain of Appleton; six sisters, Linnie Mae Pettis of Appleton, Pearl Hale of Brewton, Daisy Black of Repton, Ala., Mearlene Powell of East Brewton, Ala., Ruthie Moye of Monroeville, Ala., and Dot Blair of Lenox; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Appleton Free Will Baptist Church, with burial in Cooper Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Radney Funeral Home in Mobile and Eastern Gate Funeral Home in Pensacola.

Arva R. Milstid
ATMORE - Arva Ruth Milstid, a retired nurse, died Saturday in Brewton at the age of 64.
Mrs. Milstid, a native of , lived in Atmore.
Survivors include a son, Greg Milstid; and two daughters, Janet Milstid and Tina Milstid, all of Atmore; and a sister, Ester Pearl Matheny of Flomaton, Ala.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral of Atmore handled arrangements. Private memorial services will be announced later.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.

James Montgomery
ATMORE - James Montgomery, who formerly worked at high schools in Selma and Pine Apple, Ala., for several years, died Saturday at an Atmore nursing facility. He was 87.
Montgomery, a native of Wilcox County, was a resident of Atmore.
Survivors include a brother, Moses Montgomery of Chicago; and a caregiver, Frances Dailey of Atmore.
Viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Turner Funeral Chapel in Atmore, with visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.

James B. Hollington
WAWBEEK - James Brenton "Jim" Hollington, an employee of Desoto Oil and Gas Co., died Monday in Brewton. He was 36.
Hollington, a native of the Moyeville community, was a resident of Wawbeek for the past eight years. He was a 1981 graduate of Flomaton High School.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Marie Hollington of Wawbeek; a son, John Brenton Hollington of Wawbeek; his parents, Shirley and Andrew W. Hollington of Flomaton; three brothers, John Darrell Hollington of Hazelgreen, Ala., Kenneth Walter Hollington of Ashland, Mass., and David Wiley Hollington of Flomaton; and four sisters, Elizabeth Hollington Perritt of Molino, Fla., Jennifer Lynn Breckenridge of Atmore, Ala., Andrea Carpenter of Century, Fla., and Joyce H. Holley of Flomaton.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Moyeville Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery in Flomaton. Flomaton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Willie L. Brown
ATMORE - Willie Lee Brown, a retiree of a paper company in Mobile, died Sunday at a hospital in Pensacola. He was 56.
Brown, a native of Canoe, Ala., lived most of his life in Atmore. He had retired from International Paper Co., now known as Kimberly-Clark.
Survivors include two sisters, Bessie Hill and Shirley George, both of Atmore; two half-sisters, Fannie Finklea of Pensacola and Barbara Brown of Evergreen, Ala.; four brothers, Freddie Lee Brown, Roosevelt Brown and Sylvester Brown, all of Atmore, and David Brown of Walnut Hill, Fla.; two half-brothers, Willie Brown and David Brown, both of Nebraska.
Viewing will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. today at Turner Funeral Home in Atmore, with visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Services are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore, with viewing one hour before. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
