Funeral for James Edward "Foto" Sharpley, 33, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Danville with the Rev. Carolyn Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Camp Ground Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before services.
Mr. Sharpley died Friday, July 6, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1967, to James Earl Sharpley and Mary Frances Orr Sharpley. He was a graduate of Danville High School and a member of Hartselle Missionary Baptist Church. He was an electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lynn Sharpley; three sons, Darris Long, Zachery Freeman and Tyler Freeman, all of Decatur; two daughters, Yah'Shere Orr of Hartselle and Jeanette Maxwell of Decatur; seven brothers, James Alvin Orr of Falkville, Leverle Turney, James Terranzo Sharpley and Martze Sharpley, all of Hartselle, Deon Orr and John Bledsoe, both of Decatur, and Chris Orr of Atlanta; six sisters, Cynthia Patterson, Tenisha Sharpley and Teresa Wallace, all of Hartselle, Patricia Davis and Carolyn Brown, both of Decatur, and Michelle Echols of Moulton; his parents, of Hartselle; and his stepmother, Mary Lynn Sharpley of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Chris Orr, Derrick Orr, Elon Orr, John Fred Orr, James Orr and Fletcher Turney, Jr.
Dixie Coacher Orr
Funeral for Dixie Coacher Orr, 88, of Hartselle will be Saturday at noon at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Hurley officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery.
Miss Orr died Monday Nov. 25, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1914, in Morgan County, to Lessie and Irene Orr.
Survivors include cousins.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Orr, Ray Sharpley, Carl Orr, Jimmy Lee Orr, William Sharpley and Willie R. Sharpley Jr.
Opal Elliott

Funeral for Opal Elliott, 82, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Danville with the Rev. Thomas Gaines officiating.
Burial will be in Campground Cemetery in Danville with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Elliott died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Morgan County to William and Evie Orr. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, the Mother's Board and Missionary Society. She was the widow of Mark Elliott.
She is survived by seven nephews, Carl Orr and A.J. Orr, both of California, William A. Sharpley of Decatur, James E. Sharpley of Hartselle, Curtis Bibb of Ohio, and Calvin Dansby and Alvin Dansby, both of Birmingham; and one niece, Lou Jean Johnson of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Limas Orr, Ray Sharpley, William Fowler, W.M. Wilhite, Marion Boyd and O'Neal Orr.
L.J. Turney
Funeral for L.J. Turney, 63, of Hartselle will be Saturday at noon at Hartselle Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Turney officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Turney died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1938, in Morgan County to Levi Turney and Daisy Orr Turney. He was a member of Hartselle Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Edward Charles Turney of New Castle, Pa.; and seven sisters, Catherine Davis, Curley Shelby and Jessie Muhammad, all of Hartselle, and Linda King, Dorothy Dunklin, Nellie Conners and Eloise Turney, all of Chicago.
Pallbearers will James Muhammad, Brandon Orr, Marques Tapscott, Danny Tapscott, Fletcher Turney Jr. and William Bynum.
Lela Mae Jenkins-Steen
Lela Mae Jenkins-Steen, died November 3, 1983, in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, bon August 17, 1936, in Oak Hill, Wilcox County, Alabama.
Lela Mae Jenkins-Steen was born to the union of Mr. Jim Jenkins and Mrs. Liddie Benjamin Stallworth on August 17, 1936. She converted at an early age and was Baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oak Hill, Alabama. In 1953 Lela met and marriage Lewis Steen, Sr. and to this union, two children were born. Upon moving to Pensacola, Mrs. Lele Steen united with Houser-Memorial A. M. E. Zion Church and she remained a faithful member until she was incapacitated by a length of illness which ended in death, November 3, 1983. She leaves to mourn her loss; her husband, Lewis Steen, Sr., one son, Lewis Steen, Jr., one daughter, Alice Jenkins, her mother, Mrs. Liddie Benjamin Stallworth, her mother-in-law, Kattie B. Steen, two sisters, Lula L. Watson, Annie Jenkins and seven brothers, Frank Jenkins, John Jenkins, McKinley Jenkins of New York City, John Benjamin of New York City, Elijah Benjamin, James B. The Angel of death has visited again at the St. John Devine Baptist Church and taken from our midst, Brother Gilbert Benjamin, Sr. Brother Benjamin was born, February 18, 1920 to the lated Mr. Richard Benjamin and Mrs. Minnie McReynolds-Benjamin in Oak Hill, Alabama. Brother Benjamin confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized. In later years, Brother Benjamin united with the St. John Devine Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. F. A. Ellerby. Brother Benjamin was united in Holy Matrimony to Sister Pleasie M. Smith on August 12, 1978. Born April 7, 1906, to late Mrs. Minnie McReynolds-Benjamin and Mr. Richard Benjamin, Mr. Enoch Benjamin, Sr., a native of Oak Hill, Alabama and a resident of Prichard, Alabama for a number of years, departed this life Wednesday, September 19, 1984 at a local hospital. (at his home). Preceding him in death were his parents, several siblings, and one stepson, Samuel Swift Harris, Sr. Enoch was also the grandson of the late Fannie Johnson-Benjamon and Sam Benjamin, Sr., Evans and Liddy McReynolds, the great-grandson of the late Walter and Betsey McReynolds and Dick and Esther Johnson, and the great-great grandson of the late Anthony McReynolds.
