Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Ricky Davidson of County Road 49, Slocomb, died Friday afternoon, April 4, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was 47.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb, 334-886-7777.

Mrs. Vereene Woolf Freeman of 2nd Colomokee Road, Blakely, Ga., died at her home Thursday, April 3, 2003.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, Ga., with the Rev. Fred Odom officiating. Burial will be at Grier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Association.

Linda Ann Galloway of Geneva passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 54.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Bottoms Garden Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva with the Rev. Paul Lett officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Barbara Burke Hart of Milton, Fla., died Friday, April 4, 2003, in a Milton hospital. She was 56.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Beall officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Howard Hudgens, a resident of Oakview Manor Healthcare Facility in Ozark, died Friday, April 4, 2003, after an extended illness. He was 80.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date along with a complete list of survivors by Varner Memorial Funeral Home, 334-671-1455.

Willie "Mose" Jones of Dothan passed Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at his residence. He was 53.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Greater Beulah Baptist Church in Dothan with the Rev. R. Paul Hollman officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Edward H. McCall of Cottonwood died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his residence following a brief illness. He was 75.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vern Peverill and the Rev. George Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Methodist Church Cemetery (Cottonwood). Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36305.

Mr. James Everett McCommon of Connell Circle died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. He was 73.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Malvern Baptist Church with the Revs. Hosea Parker and John Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

Rinzol McIntosh of County Road 641, Chancellor, died early Friday morning, April 4, 2003, at Medical Center Enterprise after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was 57.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Delma Aston Simmons of East State Highway 52, Slocomb, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dothan after a brief illness. He was 88.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Malvern Baptist Church with the Rev. Hosea Parker and the Rev. John Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Malvern Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The body will be placed in he church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Gudrun A. "Candy" Sleeper of Ozark died Thursday morning, April 3, 2003, following a brief illness. She was 62.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Holman Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Michael Thomas officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Holman Funeral Home, 995 S. Union Ave., Ozark.

Ms. Lillie M. Wade of Elba died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. She was 69.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 7 at Harris Temple Church of God in Christ in Elba with Superintendent W.K. Ellison officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Elba. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Harris Temple Church of God in Christ.

Johnnie B. Spurlin, of Elba, died Saturday morning, April 5, 2003 at Taylor Mill Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Elba. He was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel in Elba with the Rev. Hubert McWaters officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetary of Elba, with Hayes Funeral Home Directing.Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 7. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice at 557 Glover Avenue in Enterprise, Al., 36330.

Allen Rogers, of Daleville, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in Medical Center Enterprise following a brief illness. He was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. Interment will follow in Ariton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be at Holman Funeral Home, 995 South Union Avenue, Ozark, 334-774-5348, from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Monday evening, April 7, 2003, with the family receiving friends during this time.

Mr. Ulysess "Red Bone" Porter, of Campbellton, Florida, passed away Sunday morning, April 6, 2003, at his residence. He was 74.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be announced later by Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville Fla., 850-263-6834.

Vasco LeCompte, of Coffee Springs, AL, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his home. He was 85.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at
Meadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Ramer officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, April 7, 2003, at the funeral home.

Tommie Lou Helms, of Louisville, died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Beverly-Tyson Manor Health Care of Montgomery. She was 88.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the Prospect Baptist Church in Clayton, with burial to follow in the Prospect Church Cemetary with Kent Funeral Home of Clayton directing and the Rev. R.C. Belcher officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 7.
