Funeral services for Nina Lee Deshazo, 73, Clanton, were held on Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roland Davis and Rev. Olen P. Hutchins officiating.
Burial followed at New Salem Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Deshazo was born on July 12, 1926, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late John and Fannie Griffin. She was a store clerk. She died on March 3, 2000, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Reynolds, Clanton; one sister, Louise Williams Langston, Clanton; three brothers, Billy Griffin, Demopolis, Don Griffin, Florida; and Durwood Griffin, Clanton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Ethel Lee Gamble
Graveside services for Ethel Lee Gamble, 93, Jemison, will be held at Martin Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fred Donovan officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing.
Gamble was born on July 26, 1906, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Benjamin Dudley and Eliza Jane Thompson. She was a homemaker. She died on March 5, 2000, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.
Survivors include two daughters, Benny J. Peters, Jemison, and Pat Ammons, Birmingham; one son, John Turner Gamble, Jr., Alabaster; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
James Walton Avary
Funeral services for James Walton Avary, 86, Jemison, will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Johnny Trobaugh and Rev. Fred Zeigler officiating.
Burial will follow at Clanton City Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Avary was born on Aug. 26, 1913, in Chambers County, the son of the late Phillip Holcombe and Willie Mae Avary. He was a civil engineer. He died on March 5, 2000, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include one son, James L. Avary, Clanton; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Avary.
Joseph Dewey Traywick
Funeral services for Joseph Dewey Traywick, 62, Clanton, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Doug Powell and Rev. Wayne Caton.
Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Traywick was born on Feb. 23, 1938, in Chilton County, the son of the late Herbert Dewey and Annie Mae Traywick. He was a heavy equipment operator. He died on March 6, 2000, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie O. Traywick, Clanton; one daughter, Tina Traywick Perry, Clanton; one son, Herbert Dewey Traywick, Clanton; a foster sister, Mary Traywick Pate, Birmingham; and other friends and relatives.

Kenneth Richard Sanders
Graveside services for Kenneth Richard Sanders, 48, Ypsilanti, Mich., were held on Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Rocky Mt. Methodist Cemetery in Jemison, with Rev. Ray Foreman officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing.
Sanders was born on June 22, 1951, in Michigan, the son of Mildred V. Stonecipher and the late Oliver Wheeler Sanders. He was an assembler for General Motors. He died on Feb. 20, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred V. Stonecipher, Leeds; his step-father, Clyde M. Stonecipher, Leeds; and one half-brother, Brad Sanders, Paris, Tenn.
Percy J. Wilson
Funeral services for Percy J. Wilson, 79, Clanton, will be held at Shiloh Bapitst Church on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ralph Jones officiating.
Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Wilson was born on Aug. 4, 1920, in Chilton County, the son of the late John P. and Mary E. Wilson. He was a farmer. He died on March 6, 2000, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include one son, James E. (Red) Wilson, Clanton; two daughters, Brenda Smith and Geneva Witcher, both of Clanton; one brother, Woodrow Wilson, Clanton; three sisters, Virgie Nell Weldon and Eula Mae Williams, both of Clanton, and Louise Gray, Selma; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jacob Dwayne Stamps
Graveside services for Joshua David Stamps and Jacob Dwayne Stamps, both of Clanton, will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Clanton, with Rev. David Jones and Rev. Don Vanderslice officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, from 6-8 p.m.
Joshua David Stamps was born on March 5, 2000, and died on March 6, 2000. Jacob Dwayne Stamps was born and died on March 5, 2000. Both died due to a premature birth.
Survivors include their father, Gerald W. Stamps, Clanton; their mother, Amy B. Stamps, Clanton; one brother, Jeremy Christian Stamps, Clanton; six grandparents, Linda Burnett, Paul Burnett, Wilma Clackler, Richard Clackler, Marie Stamps, and Gerald Stamps, all of Clanton; two great-grandmothers, Ethel Burnett, Clanton, and Rena Bachman, McCalla; and one great-grandfather, Harold Bachman, McCalla.
