Graveside services for Flemie Thomas, 92, Verbena, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton on Thursday, April 6, 2000, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Keith Edwards officiating.
Burial will be held at Chestnut Creek Baptist in Verbena, with Martin Funeral Home officiating.
Thomas was born on Aug. 13, 1907, in Autauga County, the son of the late Lewis Warren and Martha Driver Thomas. He was a carpenter. He died on April 3, 2000, in DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Kelley Thomas, Verbena; three daughters, Ola T. Taylor, Verbena, Betty Russell, Montgomery, Dot Riley, Hoover; and seven grandchildren.
Lillie Luedell Parrish
Graveside services for Lillie Luedell Parrish, 83, Clanton, will be held on Friday, April 7, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery, with Dr. Larry Michael officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel from 10-11 a.m.
Parrish was born on Mary 27, 1916, in Geneva County, the daughter of the late John William and Martha Hendrix Donaldson. She was a clerk. She died on April 5, 2000, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.
Survivors include two sisters, Willie Mae Milstead, Clanton, and Joyce Edwards, Deatsville; three brothers, Richard Donaldson, Robert Donaldson, and Johnny Donaldson, all of Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Parrish.
Jennie Lou Hicks
Funeral services for Jennie Lou Hicks, 68, Clanton, will be held at West End Baptist Church on Friday, April 7, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Tony Smitherman, Rev. Ralph Esco, and Rev. Cecil O. Sewell officiating.
Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Hicks was born on March 17, 1932, in Chilton County, the daughter of John Childress and Lila Mae Davenport Childress. She was a stenographer. She died on April 5, 2000, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, William Leon Hicks, Clanton; one daughter, Luann Hicks Williams, Prattville; and three grandsons.
Donald Wayne Rhodes
Funeral services for Donald Wayne Rhodes, 55, Clanton, will be held on Friday, April 7, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Wendell Kelley and Rev. Robert Barnes officiating.
Burial will follow at Billingsley Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Rhodes was born on Aug. 14, 1944, in Chilton County, the son of the late James and Grace Rhodes. He was a carpenter. He died on April 5, 2000, at Baptist East Medical Center in Montgomery.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Rhodes, Clanton; two sons, Donny Wayne Rhodes and Kevin Ray Rhodes, both of Clanton; one daughter, Norma Jean Driver, Prattville; five brothers, Daniel Rhodes, Prattville, Edward Rhodes, Swannee, Ga., Terry Rhodes, Clanton, Roy Rhodes, Bessemer, and Bobby Rhodes, Daphne; six sisters, Ruby Silveroli, Huntington Beach, Calif., Elsie Mae Williams, Fayette, Brenda White, Clanton, Judy Wyatt and Mary Sue Cox, both of Jemison, and Sandy Dunn, Prattville; and five grandchildren.
Louise Johnston Chambers
Funeral services for Louise Johnston Chambers, 91, Birmingham, will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Peggy Sanderford officiating.
Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Selma, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Chambers was born on Nov. 10, 1908, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Thomas Avery and Frances Dora Johnston. She was a school teacher. She died on April 9, 2000, at Medical Center East in Birmingham.
Survivors include one daughter, Annie Laurie Middlebrooks, Birmingham; one sister, Oma Bearden, Woodstock; Carden Johnston, Birmingham; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bernadette Scott
Funeral services for Bernadette Scott, 49, Clanton, will be held at Liberty Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Roland Davis officiating.
Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Scott was born on Feb. 28, 1951, in Germany, the daughter of Horace R. Cleckler and the late Marianne W. Cleckler. She was a secretary. She died at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster on April 8, 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Michael L. "Mickey" Scott, Clanton; three daughters, Misha Powell, Melisha Scott, Makesha Scott, all of Clanton; her father, Horace R. Cleckler, Clanton; two sisters, Antoinette Davison, Mobile, and Marianne Dennis, Clanton; and three brothers, Johnny Cleckler, Joseph Cleckler, and Michael Cleckler, all of Clanton.
Allie D. Nobles
Funeral services for Allie D. Nobles, 80, Trussville, were held on Monday, April 10, 2000, at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Burial followed at Forest Crest Cemetery.
She died on Saturday, April 8, 2000.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Mitchell, New Orleans, La., Patty Burton, Greenwood, S.C., and Linda Crocker, Branchville; one son, Joe Nobles, Moody; one brother, Sonny Lovelady, Maplesville; two sisters, Billie Woods and Betty Deason, both of Selma, and Louise Ferguson, Maplesville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
