Mr. Wayne Walter Welgos, 49, of Verbena died at his residence June 3.
The New York native was an artist.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Kennedy of Verbena, his step-father, Delbert Kennedy; a brother, William J. Welgos of Prattville; a step-sister, Cathy Richardson of Mobile; two step brothers, Glenn Kennedy of Maplesville and Will Kennedy of Ley Largo, FL.
Elizabeth M. Golden
A funeral for Elizabeth M. Golden, 81, Clanton, will be held at Prattville Memory Gardens on Friday, June 9, 2000, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Reggie Buckner officiating.
Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens in Prattville, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton from 6-8 p.m.
Golden was born on Feb. 19, 1919, in Kentucky, the daughter of the late Josephus and Sallie W. Martin. She was a restaurant owner. She died on June 6, 2000, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.
Survivors include two sons, Charles T. Myers, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Paul Myers, Prattville; many close friends at Hatley Health Care; 28 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Margaret Janine Baird
Services for Margaret Janine Baird, 32, of Maplesville will be Friday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Deloach officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Methodist Cemetery in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Baird died at Shelby Baptist Medical Center June 6, 2000.
Survivors include her father, Dewey Johnson Baird, Jr. of Maplesville; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Loese Sewell Baird of Maplesville; four sisters, Mrs. Patsy Spradlin and Mrs. Shirley McCormick, both of Maplesville; Mrs. Judy Long of Thorsby and Mrs. Anita Sullivan of Clanton, and a brother, Jimmy Smith of Clanton.
Bonnie Clyde Griffin
Funeral services for Bonnie Clyde Griffin, 90, were held on Monday, June 12, 2000, at Margin Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Larry Michael and Rev. Jay Hurd officiating.
Burial was held at Marbury Cemetery in Marbury.
Griffin was born on Feb. 16, 1910 in Wilcox County, Ala., the daughter of the late John Douthit Grffin and the late Myra Lou Whittle Griffin. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Chilton County School District. She died on June 10, 2000 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
Survivors include a brother, John D. Griffin of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Griffin of Lewes, Del., and Joanna G. Griffin of Decatur, Ga.; five nieces, Anne G. Searcy of Montgomery, Molly G. Casey of Brundidge, Ala., Sue G. Lockett of Johnson City, Tenn., and Janet G. Pettus of Boone, N.C.; and two nephews, John P. Griffin of Houston and Richard Griffin of Alexandria, Va.

Ellen Ernestine Melton Miller
Funeral services for Ellen Ernestine Melton Miller, 83, were held on Monday, June 12, 2000 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Robert Griffin and Rev. Frank Nelson officiating.
Burial was held at Thorsby Memorial Garden in Thorsby.
Miller was born on Oct. 2, 1916 in Mississippi, the daughter of the late John Noah Melton and the late Sally Melton. She was a homemaker and resident of Calera, Ala., and died on June 10, 2000 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala.
She is survived by three daughters, Sara Turnbloom of Calera, Ala., Karen Stone of West Blocton, Ala., and Betty Miller of Los Angeles; four sons, Wayne Miller of Montevallo, Jerry Miller of Clanton, Jim Miller of Clanton and Glenn Miller of Hartselle; three sisters, Lucille Johnson of Booneville, Miss., Edith Hudleston of Booneville and Stella Short of Tupelo, Miss.; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Elaine M. Motley
Graveside services for Elaine M. Motley, 84, were held on Sunday, June 11, 2000 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville.
Motley was born on Sept. 15, 1915 in Autauga County, the daughter of the late John R. McKinney and the late Mary M. Harrison Motley. A resident of Maplesville, she died on June 9, 2000 at St. Clair Regional Hosptial in Pell City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sherman Motley.
She is survived by a son, William Harold Motley of Birmingham; a daughter, Mable Bean of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Tina Motley of Birmingham; two brothers, Bobby McKinney of Plantersville, Ala., and J.R. McKinney of Plantersville; a sister, Allene Lawley of Maplesville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Miles W. Smith
Funeral services for Miles W. Smith, 69, were held on June 10, 2000 at Martin Chapel in Clanton, with Dr. Braxton Baker officiating.
Smithw as born on March 5, 1931 in Alabama, the son of the late Miles Vander Smith and the late Dora Edwards Smith. Employed in chief communications maintenance and a Thorsby resident, Smith died on June 8, 2000 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie M. Smith of Thorsby, two sons, Miles allen of Cullman, and Ted of Cullman; a daughter, Robin of Cullman; two stepsons, Wayne of Prattville and Monte of Mableton, Ga.; three nieces, Pat of Clanton, Janice of Carolina Beach, N.C. and Sue of St. Louis; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
