Funeral services for James Ernest Lenoir, 66, Maplesville, will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Friday, June 16, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Matt Hawkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2000, from 5-7 p.m.
Lenoir was born on May 30, 1934, in Chilton County, the son of Nettie Sims Lenoir and the late Ernest Lenoir. He was a shipping clerk. He died on June 14, 2000, at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Lenoir, Maplesville; one son, Randy Lenoir, Maplesville; his mother, Nettie Sims Lenoir, Selma; two brothers, William Lenoir, and Bobby Lenoir, both of Maplesville; one sister, Patricia Gallion, Selma; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Lenoir.
Braxton E. Brand
Funeral services for Braxton E. Brand, 55, Troy will be held on Friday, June 16, 2000, at 2 p.m. from Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Trlliating.
Burial will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2000, from 6-8 p.m. at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.
Brand died on Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Brand, Troy; two sons, Braxton E. Brand, Troy, and Robert Chandler, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; five daughters, Tawana Ward, Union Springs, Anita Goodman, Montgomery, Janet Pribulick, Wetumpka, Norma Jean Brand, Tenn., Wanda Marie Brand, Millbrook; two step-sons, Mark Evans and Chris Evans, Elmore County; two brothers, Jimmy Brand, Prattville, Bobby Brand, Verbena; one sister, Patricia Hollon, Prattville; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tereasa Brookshire.
James A. Porter
Funeral services for James A. Porter, 79, Clanton, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 16, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Willie Littleton and Rev. Charles Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Chilton Memorial Gardens, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Porter was born on Feb. 21, 1921, in Shelby County, the son of the late John and Lula Porter. He was an auto mechanic. He died on June 14, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Porter, Clanton; one son, James Thomas (Tommy) Porter, Clanton; and two daughters, Linda Nixon, Clearwater, Fla., and Sandra Presley, Helena.
Joseph Ray Owens
Funeral services for Joseph Ray Owens, 71, Clanton, will be held on Friday, June 16, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, with Rev. Gene Hitchcock, Rev. Pate Hughins, and Rev. Lyn Roe officiating.
Burial followed at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Owens was born on April 19, 1939, the son of the late George Matthew and Annie Owens. He was a foundry worker. He died on June 14, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Owens, Clanton; one son, Don Owens, Clanton; one daughter, Karen Burnett, Clanton; one brother, Charlie Owens, Clanton; two sisters, Delene Puckett, Thorsby, and Jettie Noah, Clanton; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Frank Edsel (Ed) Brand
Funeral services for Frank Edsel (Ed) Brand, 76, Clanton, was held on Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Cletice Ingram and Rev. Jim Shannon officiating.
Burial followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Brand was born on March 19, 1924, in Chilton County, the son of the late Delbert and Cuba Brand. He was a truck driver. He died on June 15, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Brand, Clanton; one son, Frank R. Brand, Clanton; four daughters, Lynn Minor, Janice Garris, and Darlene Gardner, all of Clanton, and Debra Brown, Indiana; one brother, Ernest Brand, Wetumpka; four sisters, Wilma Connell, Evelyn McGuire, and Gertie Mae Ellison, all of Clanton, and Betty Sue Brand, Mobile; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Edwin Dykes
Kenneth Edwin Dykes, 56, a resident of Billingsley, died on June 16, 2000 in Pratville.
Born on May 2, 1944 in Autauga County, Dykes was the son of the late Odis Dykes and Dovie Marie Dykes iand was an equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Dykes of Billingsley; his mother, Dovie Dykes of Billingsley; a daughter, Stephanie Barber of Milton, Fla.; a son, Alan Dykes of Clanton; and two sisters, Kathy Clark of Montgomery and Alice Faye Hester of Russellville.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 18, 2000 at Indian Grave Baptist Church, with Rev. Davis Awtrey officiating. Interment followed at Indian Grave Cemetery in Billingsley.
Josie Emmer Gore
Josie Emmer Gore, 90, died on June 18, 2000 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.
Born in Chilton County on Aug. 5, 1909, she was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Race Lawrence and the late Bessie Lawrence. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and Penny Walker, a very devoted friend.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Clanton.
