Funeral services for Rosa Lee Riggins, 81, Thorsby, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Buddy Hayes and Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Riggins was born on March 12, 1919, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late J.C. and Maggie Price. She was an inspector. She died on June 19, 2000, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley R. Howard and Jerrie R. Compton, both of Thorsby; one sister, Lola Shahid, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; one brother, Earl Price, Mississippi; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Riggins.
Ricky Lane Colee
Funeral services for Ricky Lane Colee, 46, Billingsley, will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Lyon officiating.
Burial will follow at Antioch Methodist Cemetery in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Colee was born on April 3, 1954, in Jefferson County, the son of the late Grover and Hilma Colee. He was a manufacturing supervisor. He died on June 19, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Colee, Billingsley; two daughters, Katrina Thrasher, Billingsley, and Lori Blankenship, Jasper; one son, Jason Colee, Mobile; one sister, Avis Huey, Lawley; two brothers, Dale Colee, Prattville, and Terrell Colee, Billingsley; and three grandchildren.
Joseph Ray Owens
Funeral services for Joseph Ray Owens, 71, Clanton, will be held on Friday, June 16, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, with Rev. Gene Hitchcock, Rev. Pate Hughins, and Rev. Lyn Roe officiating.
Burial followed at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Owens was born on April 19, 1929, the son of the late George Matthew and Annie Owens. He was a foundry worker. He died on June 14, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Owens, Clanton; one son, Don Owens, Clanton; one daughter, Karen Burnett, Clanton; one brother, Charlie Owens, Clanton; two sisters, Delene Puckett, Thorsby, and Jettie Noah, Clanton; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Gracie Arlene Caffee
Funeral services for Gracie Arlene Caffee, were held on Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Clanton, with Rev. Melvin Hunter officiating.
Burial followed at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Clanton, with Hillside Mortuary of Clanton directing.
Caffee was born on July 5, 1925, to the late Edward and Etta Sawyer, in Chilton County. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church in Clanton, where she served as a member of the choir and the Missionary Board. She served faithfully until her health failed. She was vibrant and full of life, and was loved by all who knew here. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Caffee, and her son, Charles Brown. She died on Friday, June 16, 2000, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include one brother, Columbus Sawyer, Clanton; a very special friend, Mrs. Hattie Bell Rogers, who was there during good times and also during her illness; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pvt. Slyvia Shantae' Atchison
Funeral services for Pvt. Slyvia Shantae' Atchison were held at West End Church of Christ in Clanton on Sunday, June 25, 2000, with Brother William Stoudemire and Brother Robert Courtney officiating.
Burial followed at New Style Church Cemetery in Clanton, with Hillside Mortuary of Clanton directing.
Atchison was born on Oct. 6, 1979, to Joseph Williams and Marilyn Atchison in Clanton. She was added to the Lomax Church of Christ at an early age.
She graduated from Chilton County High School in May 1988. She went on to the Gadsden Jobs Corps Center before joining the U.S. Army in October 1999. She was a member of the 549th Military Police Company 3rd Military Police Battalion, Fort Stewart, Ga., where she remained until her death. She died on June 19, 2000, at Ft. Stewart, Ga., as a result of an automobile accident.
Survivors include her father, Joseph Williams, Clanton; her mother, Marilyn Williams, Clanton; three sisters, Shatorrie Denise Williams, Clanton, Joynethia Atchison, Birmingham, and LaTonya Atchison Embry, Attalla; two brothers, Joseph Williams, Jr., Clanton, and Allen D. Atchison III, Jemison; 13 uncles, seven aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosie Lee White.
Referee McKee Lineberry
Funeral services for Referee McKee Lineberry, 94, Clanton, will be held on Friday, June 23, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jay Hurd officiating.
Burial will follow at Clanton City Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Lineberry was born on April 23, 1906, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Tom and Zora McKee. She was a bookkeeper. She died on June 21, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Cromwell, Prattville; two sisters, Evelyn Teel, Clanton, and Willodean Lyerly, Montgomery; and three grandsons.
William Lawrence Taylor
Funeral services for William Lawrence Taylor, 76, will be held at Martin Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Gary Aldridge officiating.

Taylor was born on Oct. 19, 1923, in Jefferson County, the son of the late W.A. and Cora Waddle Taylor. He died on June 27, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Blalock Taylor, Montgomery; one daughter, Janie Elizabeth Taylor, Montgomery; three brothers, Jessie A. Taylor, Green Forrest, Ark., David L. Taylor, Gardendale, Jerry Taylor, Leeds; four sisters, Mary Bartee, Austell, Ga., Betty Littleton, Lawrence, Ga., Sue Jones, Birmingham, and Dorothy Mitchell, Niota, Tenn.
