Emily Shae and Abbey Cheyenne Phillips, the infant daughters of Kevin and Tracey Phillips of Watercross Dr., Wilsonville, died on July 15, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. Their funeral service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2000, at 2 p.m. The service will be graveside at Cane Creek Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include their parents, Kevin and Tracey Phillips, Wilsonville; two sisters, Miss Tiffany Allred Phillips, Wilsonville, and Lacey Nichole Phillips, Helena; one brother, Chase Phillips, Wilsonville; and three grandparents, Dennis and Rita Allred, Wilsonville, and Lou Ann Willis, Calera.
Richard Lee (Ricky) Holmes
Funeral services for Richard Lee (Ricky) Holmes, 33, Clanton, will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Paul Walker officiating.
Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 18, 2000, from 5-8 p.m.
Holmes was born in Alabama, the son of Robert and Billie Holmes. He was a salesman. He died on July 16, 2000, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Holmes, Clanton; one daughter, Catilyn Holmes, Birmingham; two step-sons, Kenneth Woodall, Montevallo, and Kevin Woodall, Clanton; two step-daughters, Karen Edwards, Calera, and Kimberly Woodall, Clanton; his father, Robert Holmes, Irondale; his mother, Billie Holmes, Irondale; one brother, Randy Holmes, Birmingham; two sisters, Connie Stidham, Irondale, Marybeth Brown, Moody; and one granddaughter.
U. L. Hays
Graveside services for Mr. U. L. Hayes, 82, Covington, Ga., will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Hayes was born on March 28, 1918, in Chilton County, to the late William and Lilla Marcus Hays. He died on July 20 in Conyers, Ga.
He is survived by his widow, Vivian Hays of Covington; two sons, John Hays of Catersville, Ga., Barry Hays, of Covington; two daughters, Betty Adair of Paducah, Ken., Linda Fredrick of Clinton, Tenn.; one brother, C. C. Hays of Kenosha, Wis.; two sisters, Lodene Whittenbert of Lipscomb, Clara Merchant of Clanton, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Earl Vincent Butler
Funeral services for Mr. Earl Vincent Butler, 81, Clanton, will be held on Tuesday, July 25, at 11 a.m., at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tony Smitherman.
Interment will follow at Collins Chapel Cemetery in Thorsby, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Butler was born on June 25, 1919, in Chilton County, to the late Lloyd and Celia Bazemore Butler. He died on July 20 at his home in Clanton.
He is survived by one daughter, Earlene Edwards; a son-in-law, Randall Edwards; two grandsons, Hunter and Ryan Edwards; one brother, J.T. Butler of Springfield, Va.; one sister, Mayblane Elkins of Thorsby; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene C. Butler.
Wilbur Glenn Peters
Funeral services for Wilbur Glenn Peters, 68, Jemison, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Roy Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Mineral Springs Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Peters was born on Dec. 17, 1931, in Alabama, the son of the late Lawrence and Sophia Peters. He was a truck driver and had served in the Marines. He died on July 17, 2000, at Chilton Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Ada L. Peters, Jemison; one daughter, Vanessa Gail Peters, Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Jemison; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary D. Menard
Mary D. Menard, 73, Scott, La., will be buried at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott, La., with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Menard was born on July 14, 1927, in Louisiana, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Anastize Domingue. She was a homemaker. She died at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara M. Forestier, Carencro, La., and Gerry Champagne, Jemison; one son, Darrell Menard, Scott, La.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Andrew Fletcher Pyron, Jr.
Funeral services for Andrew Fletcher Pyron, Jr., 77, Clanton, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 27, 2000, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jay Hurd officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham at 1 p.m., with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 26, 2000, from 6-8 p.m.
Pyron was born in April 5, 1923, in Alabama, the son of the late Andrew and Geneva Pyron.
He was a service manager. He died on July 24, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret C. Pyron, Clanton; one son, Ted J. Pyron, Ohatchee; one daughter, Andrea P. Deneke, Clanton; two brothers, William M. Pyron and Wayne Pyron, both of Houston; one sister, Ruth P. Murphree, Birmingham; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
