Catherine Anna O'Brien
Funeral services for Catherine Anna O'Brien, 69, Prattville, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 27, 2000, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Hoyt Chastain officiating.
Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 p.m. O'Brien was born on May 6, 1931, in Connecticut, the daughter of the late Robert Shaw. She was a homemaker. She died on July 25, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.
Survivors include her husband, Don O'Brien, Prattville; one son, Ron O'Brien, Prattville; two daughters, Barbara Ann O'Brien, Prattville, and Sharon Rose Wilson, Verbena; and four grandchildren.
Horace L. Baker
A memorial service for Horace L. Baker, 78, will be held at Liberty Hill Baptist Church off Highway 22 on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at 11 a.m.
Baker was the son of the late Dolphus G. Baker and Glennie F. Baker of Clanton. Baker served in the Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Waukesha and the U.S.S. Lexington. At the end of the war he returned home and entered Auburn University. He graduated from the Auburn University School of Architecture in 1951. He was employed in Tampa, Fla., for a short period. He returned to Alabama and for a number of years worked with a group of architectural firms in Birmingham. He died on July 25, 2000, in Hayward, Calif.
Survivors include one brother, Thomas J. Baker, Bay Point, Calif.; two sisters, Mabel (Pat) Tucker, Clanton, and Doris B. Knight, Birmingham; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Christopher Blake Cromwell
Graveside services for Christopher Blake Cromwell, 33 and a resident of Prattville, will be held on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000 at 3 p.m. at Clanton City Cemetery, with Rev. Jay Hurd officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Born on Nov. 22, 1966 in Alabama, he was the son of William Blake Cromwell and Lynn Cromwell. A construction worker, he died on Aug. 4, 2000.
He is survived by his parents, William Blake Cromwell and Lynn Cromwell, both of Prattville; a daughter, Lauren Lindsey Cromwell, of Prattville; a son, Christopher Blake Cromwell II, of Prattville; two brothers, Gregory Blake Cromwell of Clanton and Jeffrey Blake Cromwell of Prattville; a sister-in-law, Daffaney Cromwell, of Prattville; and his grandmother, Peggy Seales of Dothan.
James Osmond Cleckler
Funeral services for James Osmond Cleckler, 80, Jemison, will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Gothard and Rev. Alvin Porter officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home officiating.
Cleckler was born on March 7, 1920, in Chilton County, the son of the late Posey and Cleckler. He was in the construction industry. He died on Aug. 8, 2000, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine D. Cleckler, Jemison; one daughter, Denise C. Hilyer, Jemison; four sisters, Jessie Henley, Mobile, and Pearline Robinson, Datha Littlefield, and Willodean Rutherford, Jemsion; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Esther Ray Traywick
Funeral services for Esther Ray Traywick, 89, Clanton, will be held on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.
Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.

Traywick was born on March 15, 1911, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Oliver L. and Bedie L. Ray. She was a homemaker. She died on Aug. 8, 2000, at Healthsouth Montgomery Rehab.
Survivors include two daughters, Gulma Heflin, Albany, Ga., and Marjorie Chancellor, Pinehurst, N.C.; three sons, Thomas Traywick, Maple, N.C., Roger Traywick, Headland, and Len Traywick, Montgomery; three sisters, Gatie Mullins and Wilma Owens, both of Clanton, Ruth Silas, Prattville; two brothers, Aubrey Ray, Wetumpka, and John Ray, Prattville; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard L. Traywick.
Hazel M. Peek
Funeral services for Hazel M. Peek, 93, Marbury, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. W.L. Adams officiating.Burial followed at Oakland-Brighton Cemetery in Birmingham, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Peek was born on Oct. 21, 1906, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Walter and Susie Amelia Sims. She was a homemaker. She died on Aug. 9, 2000, at her residence. Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Cooper, Huntsville, and Mary Yvonne Lockhart, Marbury; two sons, James Vines, Montgomery, and Courtney Peek, Mountain Creek; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Grover Vines; one daughter, Juanita Vines; and two sons, John G. Vines and Hollis Vines.
Gerald Wayne Headley
A memorial service for Gerald Wayne Headley, 69, Prattville, was held on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at Pleasant Grove Church in Clanton, with Rev. Joey Green officiating and Alabama Cremation Centers of Dadeville in charge of arrangements.
In his earlier years Headley worked as a farm hand with his uncle in the Collins Chapel Community. He died on Aug. 7, 2000.
Survivors include his father, Virgel Worthy Headley, Wetumpka; four sons, Roger L. Headley, Roy L. Headley, Danny Headley, all of Clanton, and Stevie Headley, Marbury; five sisters, Annette Feister, Prattville, Peggy Jones Lockhart, Wetumpka, Teresa Shavers, Tammy Nelson, and Stacy Langston, all of Clanton; and a host of friends at the Prattville Baptist Nursing Home, where he lived the past few years.He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Irene Headley; two brothers, Lloyd Ira Headley and Terry Wayne Headley.
