Funeral services for Franklin Wayne Hooks, 55, of Verbena, will be held Monday, June 3, 2002 at Union Congregational Church in Elmore County with Rev. Glenn Ross and Rev. Lee Edwards officiating.
Burial will be held at Union Congregational Cemetery in Marbury.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, at Martin Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m.
Born to Harvey F. Hooks and Adie Hooks on Oct. 4, 1946, Franklin died at his Verbena home on Friday, May 31, 2002.
Survivors include wife, Peggy M. Hooks, Verbena; son Kenneth Wayne Hooks, Verbena; brothers Harvey Calloway Hooks, Prattville, and Kenneth Earl Hooks, Prattville; and step-mother Louise Hooks of Verbena.
Willie Frank "Spud" Watts:
Funeral services for Willie Frank "Spud" Watts, 83 of Clanton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Oak Grove Baptist with Rev. Joe Hearn officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.
Born on December 15, 1919 to Will Northcutt and and Minnie Northcutt, she died May 27, 2003 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.
Survivors include his daughters Sandy (Jerry) Collins of Thorsby and Jean (John Dee) Barrett of Thorsby; granddaughters Jennifer (Daryl) Henry of Thorsby, Kim (Chris) Dupree of Wilsonville and Teresa (Barry) Barnett of Thorsby; great grandchildren Jason and Hunter Barnett, Haylee and Hannah Barnett and April Yeargan; great-grandchildren Lilly and Brody Barnett and Allie Yeargan.
She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Watts and great-grandchild Brook Yeargan.
Teresa Carlee:
Teresa Carlee, age 44 of Calera, passed away on Sat. May 24, 2003 at her home.
She was born on Thursday, April 18, 1959, the daughter to Mr. William Boothe and Mrs. Emma Benton Boothe.
Services were held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Burning Bush Church in Jemison on Monday, May 26, 2003. Viewing was from noon to 2 p.m. at Macedonia Church Wednesday, May 28, 2003 with the funeral following and Pastor Wade officiating.
She was preceded in death by her father William (Buddy) Boothe and her brother, Melvin Boothe.
Survivors of Mrs. Carlee include her one daughter, April (Rick) Brasher; her one son Calium (Terri) Carlee, both of Calera; four grandsons, J.T. and Billy Tidwell, Cody Brasher, Zac Carlee and one granddaughter, MaKenna Carlee; her mother, Emma Boothe of Calera; her two brothers, James (Paula) Boothe of Jemison and Charles (Tina) Boothe of Wilsonville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Joyce Joiner Giles:
Joyce Joiner Giles, 64 of Clanton, died Monday, May 26, 2003. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the West End Baptist Church in Clanton with Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pinedale Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
Giles is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles E. Giles of Clanton; one daughter Charla (Terry) Doucet of Clanton; one son Charlton (Donna) Giles of Gadsden; two sisters, Nancy (Larry) Martin of Hanceville and Donna Hosey of Fultondale; one brother, Dennis Gerald Joiner of S.C.; two granddaughters Kalee Doucet of Clanton and Anna Elizabeth Giles of Gadsden; a host of nieces and nephews.
Giles was preceded in death by her parents Dennis Edward and Joyce Seale Joiner and a brother, David Edward Joiner.
Active pallbearers will be her nephews.
Giles was a member of the West End Baptist Church and The Daughters of the American Revolution.
