Mary Frances Easterling:
Funeral services for Mary Frances Easterling, 66, Clanton, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Billy Boatwright officiating.
Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Easterling was born on July 26, 1935 in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Lon Baker and the late Lizzie Baker. She was a homemaker. She died on May 26, 2002, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include two sons, Nicky Easterling, Clanton, and Gary Easterling, Montgomery; one daughter, Sherry Moss, Clanton; four grandsons; one brother, Sam Baker, Montgomery; and one sister, Sara Ruth Baker, Clanton.
Etta Lee Hunter Headley Scott:
Funeral services for Etta Lee Hunter Headley Scott, Chickasaw, were held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, on Monday, May 20, 2002, at 2 p.m.
Burial followed on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Sardis Church Cemetery in Maplesville, with Radney Funeral Home in Saraland directing.
Scott was a native of Autauga County and a resident of Chickasaw since 1979. She died in a Chickasaw area hospital on May 18, 2002.
Survivors include five children, John Dee Headley, Chickasaw, Hollis I. Headley, Sarah Mason, both of Satsuma; Carolyn Andrews and Hazel Wimpee, both of Saraland; four sons-in-law, George Mason, Satsuma, Hayward Andrews and Dayton Wimpee, both of Saraland, Buddy Dumas, Chickasaw; two daughter-in-laws, Martha Headley, Satsuma, Frances Headley, Chickasaw; three brothers, Woodrow Hunter and John Will Hunter, both of Clanton, Clifton Hunter, Warner Robbins, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Jerri Hunter, Warner Robbins, Ga.; one niece, Helen Purvis, Satsuma; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Delene Dumas and two grandchildren.
Arthur (Pete) Thackerson:
Funeral services for Arthur (Pete) Thackerson, 87, Jemison will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Willard Frederick officiating.
Burial will follow at Midway Memorial Cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2002, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.
Chester Vesteen Little:
Funeral services for Chester Vesteen Little, 70, of Clanton, were held Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church of Clanton with burial following at Memorial Gardens.
Rev. Fred Zeigler and Chaplain Dallas Little officiated.
In lieu of flowers to the family, they request donations be made to the American Cancer Society (local chapter: 105 Kevin Lane, Clanton, AL 35045).
Little was a life-long member of the Clanton community, radiating a profound an earnest religious faith that drew others to him. His life of Christian charity was augmented by his deep patriotism; he served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War period and 18 years as a Seabee in the Naval Reserve.
His military honors included the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal with one bronze star.
Little also served 16 years as a correctional officer at Draper Prison in Elmore County and was highly regarded for his ministry of compassion to the inmates there.
He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Clanton, Fraternal Order of Police, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Odd Fellows and Chilton County Republican Party.
Little was preceded in death by his father, Timothy (Dak) Little; mother Ora Kinney Little and brothers, Carl and Robert Earl Martin.
Survivors include wife of 49 years June Bean Little of Clanton; daughters Mary Mims (John) of Albuquerque, N.M. and Alice J. Graham (Mike) of Clanton; son Dallas Little (Janice) of Biloxi, Miss. and grandchildren Trevor and Zoe Little of Biloxi, Miss.
