Funeral services for Missionary Rhymes will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Allen Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder L.C. Ming officiating. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hammond Funeral Home. Viewing will be Tuesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen Temple Church of God in Christ for a wake service Tuesday evening.

Blanche Peel Jones, 86, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Aug. 11, 2000, in Tallahassee, Fla. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tallahassee Memory Gardens in Tallahassee. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Homes Riggins Road Chapel.

Graveside services, with full military honors and Masonic graveside rites, for EMC(SS)-CPO Louie Franklin Eagerton, U.S. Navy Retired, age 67, and a resident of Eufaula, will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Jack, Ala. The Rev. Arnold Sanders will officiate with Kent Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. EMC(SS)-CPO Eagerton died Friday, August, 11, 2000, at his Eufaula residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Sara Frances Byrd Flowers, 91, of Ozark, died early Saturday morning, November 18, 2000, in Ozark Nursing Facility following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, November 20, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with her son-in-law, Dr. Henry L. Lyon, III,and her Pastor, Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Bill Hix. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 4 p.m. today until service time on Monday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The family requests any memorials be made to the building fund of the Ozark Baptist Church, 314 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.

Charles McRae, 87, of 726 Chickasaw Street, Dothan, died Thursday, Nov. 16, atthe Jackson County Memorial Hospital Marianna, Fla. after an extended illness. Funeral arrangement are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date along with a complete list of survivors by Varner Memorial Funeral Home.

Edgar Lois Scott, 65, of Irvington, N.J., formerly a Dothan resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Irvington General Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. from the Varner Memorial Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sammie Walker officating. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Varner Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held tonight from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the chapel prior to the service. The family will receive friends at 205 Stough Street.

Clarence Albert Barbour, age 57, Ozark, died Thursday, Nov. 16, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. from Blackshear Church of Christ, Dothan with Brother Reginald Jones officiating. Burial will be in Klondike Friendship AME Cemetery with full military honors. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be from the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday. Family will receive friends during these hours.

Mrs. Marjorie Brackin Buckley, 80, Fremont, Calif., formerly of Dothan died Wednesday, Nov. 17. Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until time to depart for the cemetery. Mrs. Buckley was born in Houston County having lived in California the past several years.

Mr. William Huff, Jr., 66, Graceville, Fla., passed Saturday morning in the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. He was a native of Alabama but lived most of his life in Graceville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be announced later by Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Fla.

Mrs. Catherine Anna Patterson, 72, of 1142 South Park, Dothan, died Friday, Nov. 17, at her residence following an extended illness. Memorial services will be Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. at Kent-Thornton Funeral Home with Father Gallagher officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Mrs. Patterson was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Mr. Adam Bornemann and Mrs. Mary Burns Bornemann.

Gloria J. Dickeson, 56, Jacksonville, died Saturday, Nov. 18 in Medical Center Enterprise after an apparent heart attack. Funeral arrangements will be made through K.L. Brown Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Patterson Sorrells Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Leslie Myhand, 72, 702 Blackshire Street, passed Nov. 17, at her residence. Funeral services will be announced later by Allen Funeral Home of Dothan.

Lanell Brown King, 65, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday morning, November 18, 2000 at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mrs. King will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 pm Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, 36302 or to Save- A-Life Wiregrass , 515 West Main Street, Suite # 1, Dothan, Alabama 36301.

Alvin Charles Bush, 82, of National City, Calif., died Friday, Nov. 17, at Doctor's Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, Fla., following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. (CST) from Noma Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Brown-Bush-Tindel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or family request those wishing to make memorials to Noma Baptist Church, P.O. Mr. P. L. Danner, Jr., 83, of the Elam Community, died early Tuesday morning, December 12, 2000 in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors today from 6 to 8 p.m. Other arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later through Holman Funeral Home of Ozark.

Mrs. Patricia Gayle Foster , age 39, of Cottonwood died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000 at her home. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lois Wright Haddan, age 67, of Ashford, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000 at her home following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000 at the Chapel ofWard-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home with Rev. William Hand officiating. Burial will follow in Cowarts Cemetery, Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at the funeral home.

Hiram Keith Mechling, 72, a resident of Houston County, Highway 109, died Monday afternoon, December 11, 2000 at his residence. A prayer service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2000, at Byrd Funeral Home with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m. following the service. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2000 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Orem, Utah. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The family will receive friends at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, Utah from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Maylene Finch Harden, 87, died Monday, December 11, 2000, at her home in Dothan. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2000, at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel in Midfield, Alabama with Reverend Don Graham and Reverend David Mahaffey of Union Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield, Alabama from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mr. Henry Dickson, age 77, of Enterprise, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at his home in Enterprise. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Searcy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary W. Carpenter, age 80, of Enterprise, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Medical Center Enterprise. Mrs. Carpenter’s funeral arrangements and interment will be handled by Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, Miss. Local arrangements will be handled by Searcy Funeral Home.

Mr. Richard W. Jones Sr., age 71, of Burton, S.C., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Daleville. Date and time of funeral services will be announced by Anderson Funeral Home in Beaufort, S.C. The Rev. John Shuler will officiate. Burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. All local arrangements will be handled by Searcy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dona Sue Lenett, age 62, of 117 Harrison Drive, Daleville (Level Plains), died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in the Medical Center Enterprise after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today from the Dothan Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church (Brannon Stand Road) with the Rev. Lyle Peluso officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Ruby T. Hussey, age 70, of Private Road, Enterprise, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in the Medical Center Enterprise after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday from the Patterson-Sorrells Chapel with Father Joseph Wadas officiating. Burial will be follow in the Showlow Cemetery in Showlow, Ariz., at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 9 a.m. until time for service. Other arrangements may be obtained by calling Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home.

Infant Brandon Lee Leonard Dazey, 4-month-old son of Shawn and Dawn Dazey of 114 Red Cloud Road, Fort Rucker, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today from the Chapel of the Wings (Fort Rucker) with Chaplain Earl Vanderhoff officiating and Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends today at the Chapel of the Wings for one hour before service time.

Mrs. Mary Jane Wright, age 62, of Winter Park, Fla., formerly of Hartford, died Dec. 5, 2000, in Winter Park, Fla., following a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hurricane United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Stanley Carter officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

Emma Kate Skeen, infant daughter of Chris and Lisa Norris Skeen of Dothan, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000. Funeral services will be today at 3 p.m. from the Miles Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Winfield City Cemetery with Miles Funeral Home of Winfield directing.

Mrs. Nellie Dean Broxson Thames, age 73, of Geneva, died Dec. 10, 2000, at the family residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with the Rev. Danny Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Enterprise with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

Mrs. Mary Lou Jackson Johnson, age 63, of Westville, Fla., died Dec. 10, 2000, in Flowers Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Simmons and the Rev. Roy Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Creek Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The body will be carried to the church one hour prior to services.

Hattie Barefield Blankenship, age 101, of Newville Rt. 2, (Echo Community), died Tuesday night, March 6, 2001, at her home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2001, in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Delbert Freeman and the Rev. Chris Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Echo Emergency Medical Services, P.O. Shelby Chris Stringfellow, age 54, of 6210 Glen Lawrence Road, Ashford, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2001, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at the mortuary in Headland. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Maple Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Cecil Coleman, Scott Cox and Mike Shirah officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service time. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. At all other times the family will be at the residence of Alfred McIntosh, 3843 Enterprise Road, Geneva.

Mrs. Lula Bell Peacock, 55, of Sellersville, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at the family residence following an extended illness. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. today at the Shady Grove Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Donnie Earles and Jimmy Eddins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service time.

Mrs. Ethel C. Crittenden, age 97, a resident of Oakview Manor Nursing Home, formerly of 117 Crittenden Street, Ozark, passed Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in Ozark. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be announced later by Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary.

Elizabeth Walton Boswell, age 79, of Tallahassee, Fla., and formerly of Hartford, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Tallahassee. Funeral services will be Friday, March 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Liveoak Cemetery in Bonifay, Fla., with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Hartford directing. Burial with military rites will be in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing.

Claude S. Prier, a retired major with the Department of Public Safety, died March 5, 2001 in Mobile, Alabama after an extended illness. Memorial services will be Friday, March 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Burns Assembly of God Church cemetery with the Rev. Joe Patterson officiating and Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Joyce Clark Blalock, age 62, of Ashford, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at her home. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Madrid Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Skipper and the Rev. Wayne Randall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing.

Mr. James Aubrey Peterman, 44, of 245 Riley Ridge, Taylor, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Kent-Thornton Funeral Home with the Rev. John Clark and the Rev. Wallace Russell officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Kinsey, with Kent-Thornton Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lola Mae Frith Cameron, 101, of 7514 Cottonwood Rd., Dothan went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2001, at Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dothan. The funeral will be Sunday, April 1, 2001 at 3:30 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. George Thompson and the Rev. Dorman Jenkins officiating. Mr. Brown H. Bell, age 87, of Chipley, died Wednesday afternoon March 28, 2001, in the Washington County Convalescent Center. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in the Damascus Baptist Church of Graceville with Mr. Jack Petterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Noma Cemetery in Noma, Fla., with Williams Funeral Home directing.

Mr. George Roger Cook, age 69, of Dothan died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. The funeral will be today at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Charles Littlefield and the Rev. Myrtle Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Cemetery, Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. Mr. Cook will be placed in the church one hour prior to services on Saturday.
