Mrs. Hazel Gouge Rout of Court Street, Slocomb, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at her home after an extended illness. She was 85. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28 at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Carter and the Rev. Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At all other times, the family will be at the residence. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 304, Slocomb, Ala. 36375.

Mrs. Annie Merle Waters of Level Plains died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. She was 89. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Searcy Funeral Home, 334-347-2517.

Mose Frank Wesley of Highway 27 South, Chancellor, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at the family residence after an extended illness. He was 85. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. E.A. McGriff and John W. Withrock Jr., Covenant Hospice chaplain, officiating.

Mrs. Mary Alice Windham died Tuesday morning, June 24, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan after a brief illness. She was 75. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Moore officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memory Gardens.

Mr. Frank A. Wuolukka Jr. of Ozark died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Dale Medical Center. He was 64. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Father Brendon Keller and the Rev. Ruben Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military rites.

Mr. Ray J. Barefield of Ozark, died Monday afternoon, June 23, 2003, at his home after an extended illness. He was 83. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at Post Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Moore and Chaplain Randall Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Ariton Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holman Funeral Home, 995 South Union Avenue, Ozark. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 E. Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360.

Janis Claire Moseley Bentley of Southside, Ala., died Sunday, June 22, 2003. She was 53. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Collier-Butler Chapel in Gadsden with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Byrd Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Vineyard Gadsden for the Jan Bentley Arts Memorial Project.

Mr. Russell Boice of Enterprise died Monday, June 23, 2003, at his residence in Enterprise. He was 77. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. James Lolley officiating. Burial will follow.

Johnnie Gertrude Box, a resident of Wesley Manor and a former resident of Slocomb, died there Tuesday, June 24, 2003. She was 92. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Byrd Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Ella Turner Cantrell of Ozark died Tuesday morning, June 24, 2003, at Dale Medical Center. She was 79. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Forrest Weekley of Skipperville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holman Funeral Home, 995 S. Union Ave., Ozark.

Mrs. Irene Carter of Cottondale, Fla., died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at her residence after a brief illness. She was 89. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville, Fla., 850-263-3238.

Dylan Driver of Dothan passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. He was 3. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Kent-Thornton-Meadows-Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-1117.

Mary Imogene Ford died Monday, June 23, 2003, after an extended illness. She was 73. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at Northside Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Roy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions in Mary Ford's name may be made to Northside Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 2848 Denton Road, Dothan, Ala. 36303.

(Sgt. retired) Edward Harmon of Wichita, Kan., and formerly of Dothan, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Medical Lodge of Wichita. He was 81. Graveside services with full military honors will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Memory Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Earl Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Byrd Funeral Home.

Dudley Cooper Holley of Enterprise died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at his home in Enterprise. He was 56. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Belcher officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Sherman Virgil Roberts of Knight Circle, Newton, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at his residence. He was 81. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Newton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Andy J. Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Newton City Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Ann Rita Shakespeare of Regency Drive, Enterprise, died Tuesday morning, June 24, 2003, at the family residence after a brief illness. She was 86. Funeral services will be Friday, June 27 in New Port Richey, Fla., with Michaels & Lunquist Funeral Home directing.

She and her husband, Malcolm, owned and operated Community Repair in Ozark for 29 years.

Mrs. Martha Catrett of Luverne died Friday, June 27, 2003. She was 79. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 30 at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. William Leverette officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Turner Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnnie M. Hinson Dennis of Graceville, Fla., died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital after an extended illness. She was 92. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29 at First Baptist Church of Graceville with Dr. E.W. "Bud" Ware and Dr. Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Marvin Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. John Henry Hornsby of Caryville, Fla., and formerly of Enterprise, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, in Panama City, Fla. He was 57. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Searcy Funeral Home of Enterprise, 334-347-2517.

De Thi Le died June 28, 2003, at her residence on Dixie Drive. She was 50. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5 at Saint Columba Church with Father Bieu Nguyen. Mr. Wallace T. Pipkin of Conti Road, Dothan, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Jackson County Convalescent Center in Graceville, Fla., after an extended illness. He was 75. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 30 at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Reynolds and Sollie Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.

Edna B. Rutherford of Dover Court died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. She was 74. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mr. Adolph Trawick of Hughes Drive, Dothan, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 76. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 30 at United Pentecostal Church with Brother Joe Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home. Mr. Trawick's body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Contie Work Center, Dothan, Ala. 36301.

Geneva May Watford of Dothan died Friday, June 27, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 83. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 at Big Creek United Methodist Church with the Revs. Gillis Crenshaw and Earl Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Big Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Watford will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Byrd Funeral Home. Eloise C. Brown of Ozark Road, Newville, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at her residence after an extended illness. She was 67. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 15 at St. Peter A.M.E. Myrtle Campbell Brown of County Road 53, Clayton, died Friday morning, July 11, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery after a short illness. She was 86. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13 at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church, near Texasville, with the Rev. C.L. Culpepper and the Rev. Tommy Fortune officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Holman-Abbeville Mortuary in Abbeville. Neal John Clark of Dothan, died Thursday night, July 10, 2003, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was 16. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 14 at Memphis Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest O'Neal officiating. Burial will follow at he church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
