Jerry Alvin McClenny
Jerry Alvin McClenny, 67, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, died October 21, 2001, at his home surrounded by his family.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa on Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at 2:0 p.m. Dr. Ken Dunivant and Dr. Duncan Hunter will officiate with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing. Friends and family will be received in the Parker Fireside Room one hour prior to service.
Mr. McClenny was born in Dothan, Alabama and moved to Tuscaloosa as a child. After graduating from Holt High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country. When he returned to Tuscaloosa, Mr. McClenny attended the University of Alabama where he graduated in Accounting from the School of Commerce and Business Administration. He became a Certified Public Accountant, formed his own practice, and was a practicing CPA for 39 years with a loyal clientele. He was a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. McClenny was preceded in death by his mother, Avie Doris Meadows Dykes and his father, Hewey Dempster McClenny. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia James McClenny of Tuscaloosa, his daughter, Michelle Dorisa McClenny of Birmingham; Suzy, Mark, Wright and Celia Gatewood, and Hal Wright, all of Tuscaloosa; Morris, Allison, and Anne Hays Wright of Montgomery. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia McClenny Layfield and her husband Bob of Lake Charles, LA; his brother, Dennis Eric McClenny and his wife Sammie, and Frank and Ruth Dykes, all of Dothan, and numerous loving family members.
Pallbearers will be Hal Wright, Morris Wright, Mark Gatewood, David Welch, Carl Morrison, Todd Kennedy, Jerry M. McClenny, Don Crump, Bobby Rice, and Joe Vengrouskie. Honorary pallbearers will be Elizabeth Phillips, Audra Van Etten, Dr. Melanie Graham, Leroy and Ruth McAbee, Leah Ann Sexton, Wendell McAbee, Gary Nichols, Bill Barnes, David Dunn, John Curry, Jane Webb, Howard White, William G. Kirkland, Mac and Sabra Nelson, Cliff Flora, Michael and Gail Dogan, Johnny and Ann Butler, Mitchell Drew, Don Barnes, Frank Spell, Rufus Green , and friends of the Tuscaloosa County School System.
Following the memorial service at the church, there will be a service at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

Ms. Rosie Bell Jones, 82, of Holt, died October 20, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa. Services will be held at Second Baptist Church in Holt, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. H.P. Thomas, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Holt Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 12 noon-7 p.m. at Wills’ Funeral Services.

Nola Virginia Garrison, 82, of 1050 Convalesent Road, died October 20, 2001 at Care Center of Vernon. Services will be held at Norwood Chapel, today at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Fayette City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. before services at Norwood Chapel of Fayette.
Charles H. "Charlie" Gailes
Charles H. "Charlie" Gailes, 66, died October 22, 2001 at his residence. Services will be held at Memory Chapel, Thursday at 10 a.m. Chaplain Shelby Pearcy will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Memory Chapel.
He is preceded in death by C. Buford Gailes (Father) and Iris Hardy Gailes (Mother).
Survivors include his wife, Vivian K. Gailes; sons, Charles H. Gailes, Jr., Christopher A. Gailes, and Leonard B. Gailes; grandchildren, Christopher A. Gailes, Jr., Monica E. Gailes, Danielle Gailes, and Charles H. Gailes III; step-grandchildren, Rebecca S. Haynes, and Robert E. Sanderson, Jr.

James Oliver Dawkins, Sr., 76, of 4321 Harper Circle, died October 22, 2001 at hie residence. Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home October 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. Walter Jury is officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Hwy 5, Jasper, AL. Visitation will be October 24, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 10-11am, before the service.
He is preceded in death by Annella Bryson Dawkins.

Dr. Marcia T. Butler
Dr. Marcia T. Butler, 52, of Alabaster, AL passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2001. She was a member of Kingswood Assembly of God. She was employed by Shelby County Board of Education. She received her Ph.D from the University of Alabama this past August. She was a Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and woman of God.
Survivors include her husband, Lester E. Butler, Jr. of Alabaster; son, Nathan Butler of Birmingham, AL; two daughters, Sheri Trossman and husband, Chet Trossman, of Potomac Fall, VA., and Natalie Tucker and husband; Keith Tucker of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Matthew Trossman and Drew Trossman; mother, Virginia Turner of Tuscaloosa, AL; sister, Charla Brown of Homewood, AL.

Clarence Edward Barnett, 56, of 8751 Inverness Place, died October 19, 2001 in DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at 11 a.m. in Rollins’ Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Robert Webb will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park with Rollins’ Mortuary directing. He will be in Parlor A at Rollins’ Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. today for public viewing.

Clarence Edward Barnett, son of the late Charlie and Wilner Barnett, was born March 14, 1945 in Florence, AL. Having professed Christ at an early age, he was baptized and joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. In 2000, he was united in holy matrimony to June H. Wilder. He was employed at Lowe’s as a commercial sales specialist.

COTTONDALE - Robert Ford Sumner, 73, of 5634 Clearview Hills Drive, died Nov. 21, 2000, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at Memory Chapel on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edwin King officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation is Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

FAYETTE - Hazel Renfro, age 80, of 2531 Highway 18 W., died Monday, October 22, 2001, at Fayette Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Nelson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Corbett and Donald Casella officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight, at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Renfro Casella (Donald) of San Francisco, Calif.; son, William Murray Renfroe II (Carol) of Northport; sisters, Dorothy Chism of Northport and Barbara Corbett of Florence; grandchildren, Lisa McGhee, Lori Renfroe, Rebekah Casella, and Rolando Casella.
She was born in Rogersville to James Barclay, Jr. and Lessie Laura Snoddy. She married Gene Renfro in 1942. She was "Mother" to generations of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Renfroe, Ronnie Renfroe, Scott Morgan, Joey Oswalt, Keith Odom and Casey Corbett

SALTILLO, MS - Estelle M. Taylor, 81, of 230 County Road, formerly of Buhl, Alabama, died October 22, 2001 in Tupelo, Miss. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at El Bethel Methodist with Rev. David Howell and Rev. Dewey Thomas officiating.
