Redoll Wilder Gordon

TUSCALOOSA - Redoll Wilder Gordon, 55, of 301 55th Street East, died October 22, 2001 in DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church. Rev. Vernon Swift officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park with Rollins' Mortuary directing.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Rollins' Mortuary tonight (Friday, October 26, 2001) from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to funeral time.

Survivors include: Her husband: Willie Gordon, Jr. of Tuscaloosa. A daughter: Christy Renea Gordon of Tuscaloosa. Father: John Isaac Lavender of Boligee. Four sisters: Bessie Slatton, Bettye Allen of Detroit, Mich., Elva Lean Wilder of Tuscaloosa, Mary Ann Webster of Boligee. A host of other relatives and numerous friends.

Luther Glover, Sr.

HOLT - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7. Luther Glover, Sr., age 96, died October 23, 2001, at Landmark of Baton Rouge Nursing Home. Services will be held at Holten Hights Church of the Nazarene, Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Bill Holley and Rev. George Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation is tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Dolly A. Spencer Glover; son, Luther F. Glover Jr.; parents, Sally and Will Glover, six brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter, Pat.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty A. Dollar and husband, John, of Baton Rouge, La.; grandchildren, William R. Dollar, West Monroe, La., Joy Lollar, Joan Caddis, and Pam Brasfield, all of Tuscaloosa; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Lucile Glover.

Pallbearers will be William R. Dollar, Buford Perrigin, Ray Clifton, James Sparks, Steve Martin, Barry Spencer, Vic Hubbard and Tommy Ray.

Honorary pallbearers are members of Holten Heights Church of the Nazarene and friends of the Holt Community.

Elouise Jones Cokley

GREENSBORO, NC - Elouise Jones Cokley, 53, formerly of Demopolis, died October 23, 2001 at Moses Cone Hospital, Green sboro, N.C. Services will be held Saturday, 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Demopolis, Ala. Rev. John Kennard, pastor. Rev. Melvin Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Gallion. Remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis entrusted with arrangements.

Shirley Faye Bankhead

SULLIGENT - Shirley Faye Bankhead, 50, died October 19, 2001 at Healthsouth in Birmingham. Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

William Samuel Atkinson

WINFIELD - William Samuel "Sammy" Atkinson, age 70, died October 24, 2001. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in West Alabama Memorial Gardens, in Gu-Win, with Miles Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.

Mary Neal Adams-Lundell

TUSCALOOSA - Mary Neal Adams-Lundell, 81. Services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Rideouts Valley Chapel in Homewood directing.

Mrs. Adams, born in Roanoke, was a long time resident of Tuscaloosa, having moved to the area with her husband, the late Dr. H. A. Adams, in 1948. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Tuscaloosa Medical Auxiliary and Astor Study Club.

After Dr. Adam's death, Mrs. Adams married Mr. Arnold Lundell who survives her. She is also survived by her children, Marsha Adams Anders of Birmingham; Dr. Harry A. Adams, Jr. of Fayetteville NC; Bruce Neal Adams of Anniston; a sister, Ozelle Lee of West Point, Georgia and five grandchildren. Louis Hart Anders, III, Albert David Anders, Harry Albert Adams, III, Amy Lorraine Adams and Stephanie Neal Adams.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa or the Druid City Hospital Foundation.

Sandra Willingham Yeager

DEMOPOLIS - Sandra Willingham Yeager, age 47, of 1612 Chickasaw Street, died October 25, 2001, at her residence. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Rex Kent, and Dr. Denton Goodwin officiating with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors directing. Burial will follow in the Demopolis Memorial Gardens cemetery. Visitation will be today at First Baptist Church from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The body will lie in state during visitation.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Russell Yeager and son James Russell (Rusty) Yeager.

Survivors include brothers Paul A. Willingham and Jimmie R. Willingham both of Demopolis; parents Eddie D. and Agnes A. Willingham of Demopolis; two nephews Brandon K. Smith and Jacob A. Willingham; three nieces Erin Leigh Willingham, Courtney Rebecca Willingham, and Emily Katelyn Willingham.

Sandra was a native of Demopolis and lived there her entire life. She graduated from the University of West Alabama in Livingston with a Masters Degree in Education. She was a member of Demopolis High School Baseball Boosters, Board of School Foundation and Sponsor of Student Government Association at Demopolis High School.

Pallbearers will be James Moody, Wayne Harris, Doug Goodwin, Danny Wasson, Freddy Lawrence, and Terry Sprinkle.

Honorary pallbearers are the baseball team and coaches, the football team and coaches and all of Demopolis High School faculty and staff.

Flowers or donations may be made to Demopolis High School Baseball Boosters or Demopolis School Foundation at 607 Highway 80 W, Demopolis, AL 36732.

Barbara Jones Tuck

EUTAW - Barbara Jones Tuck, age 92, of 507 Mesopotamia Street, died October 24, 2001, in Greene County Hospital. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Mesopotamia Cemetery with Rev. Milford Walters officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by William H. Tuck.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Tuck Magee (Walter Lawrence Magee, Jr.) and Marguerite Tuck Egge (Dr. Ronald Dennis Egge); sister, Narcissa Jones Dulaney, Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandchildren William Lawrence Magee (Melissa), Laura Elizabeth Magee Jockisch (Kevin), Ronald Dennis Egge, Jr. (Nancy), Katherine Michelle Egge; great-grandchildren Amanda Mae Magee, Joseph William Magee and Samuel Lawrence Magee.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Eutaw Christian Church or Greene County Ambulance Service.

Enoch Smith

FAUNSDALE - Enoch Smith, age 84, died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Faunsdale Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Dayton Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Home of Green sboro directing. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the church before the service.

Harmon Murray

GREENWOOD SPRINGS, Miss. - Harmon Murray, age 86, died October 25, 2001. Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Norwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery. Norwood Funeral Home is directing.

William “Travis” Little

FAYETTE - William "Travis" Little, 88, 10875 County Road 53 N, died October 25, 2001 at his residence. Services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the New River Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette is directing.

Charles Benton (C.B.) Kervin

REFORM - Charles Benton (C. B) Kervin. Age 62, of 805 7th Street N.W., died October 24, 2001 at his residence. A memorial service will be held today, 2:00 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church on Highway 17 South in Reform with Rev. Leon Orr officiating. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is directing.

He is preceded in death by father: Woodrow W. Kervin, mother: Mary Brown Herring.

Survivors include his loving wife and companion of 8 years, Dorothy Godfrey Kervin of Reform; daughter: Markeeta A. Hopkins of Millbrook; sons: Boady B. Kervin of Honolulu, HI, Torrie C. Kervin of Montgomery; step sons: Doug Robertson of Bolton, Miss., Michael Robertson of Newton, Miss.; sister: Paula Hall of Prattville, 13 grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kervin was born in McKenzie on February 26, 1939. He was a member of the Reform First Freewill Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and he worked for REA Express Agency for many years having just recently retired with the railroad. He was a resident for many years of Prattville, where his children were raised and schooled. He and his wife retired to Reform one year ago.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Local American Diabetes Association or Cancer Association Chapter.

Ras Fitzhugh, Jr.

GALLION - Ras Fitzhugh, Jr., age 69, of 30511 U.S. Highway 43 South, died October 26, 2001, at his residence. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Kidd-Robbins Chapel. Burial will follow in Fitzhugh Family Cemetery with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing. Visitation will be Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Huey Davis

TUSCALOOSA - Huey Davis, 72, died October 25, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Complete arrangements will be announced later by Wills’ Funeral Service, Inc.

Essie Valentine Colvin

EUTAW - Essie Valentine Colvin, age 92, died October 22, 2001, at Greene County Hospital. Services will be Monday, 12 noon, Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in First Baptist Cemetery in Union with Gandy Funeral Home directing. Public viewing will be Sunday from 1:30 until 3 p.m. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.

James Isiah Carter

MONTGOMERY - James Isiah Carter, 50, 3415 Gilmer Court, died October 25, 2001. Services will be held at Piney Grove Baptist, Monday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Travis Cemetery in Sawyerville. Druid Funeral Home is directing.

Irene Robertson McLeod

TUSCALOOSA - Irene Robertson McLeod, 80, died October 26, 2001 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park today at 4 p.m. Vial Fontenot will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 3-4 p.m. at Heritage Chapel

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert McLeod.

Survivors include her daughter, Myla McLeod (Billy) Tyner, Tuscaloosa; great-grandson, Conner Harp; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Harp, Lance Tyner, Andre Robertson, Joseph Duane Robertson, Thomas Simpson, and Matthew Stevens.

Honorary pallbearers are Joseph and Shirley Robertson, Horace and Mary Crutchfield, John and Buna McPherson, Cathy Davis, Lorraine and Cory Stevens, Dr. John Summerford and staff, friends and neighbors.
