FAYETTE - Doris Thomas Jeffries, age 75, 638 Columbus Street, died November 8, 2001, at her residence. Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. from the Fayette First United Methodist Church with Dr. Michael Stewart officiating.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William B. Jeffries; father, Albert C. Thomas; brother Colonel Oscar L. Thomas, USAF Ret.
She is survived by her son and grandson, William N. Jeffries and William C. Jeffries of Tuscaloosa; her mother, Merle M. Thomas of Fayette; brother, Carroll M. Thomas (Millie) of Selma; sisters, Norma T. Agerton (A.V.) of Fayette, Faye T. Ouellet (Phil) of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and sister-in-law, Lynda B. Thomas, Wynne, Ark., numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jeffries was recently retired from the Fayette Housing Authority, having served 24 years as executive director. She was very active in her church, serving on numerous committees. She was past president of the Pilot Club of Fayette and was currently serving on the boards of the Fayette Civic Center and the Fayette Art Museum.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Fayette First United Methodist church or charity of choice.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Nelson Funeral Home is directing.

GREENSBORO - Christopher Cola Coulter, age 101, of 367 Beverly Road, died November 4, 2001, at her residence. Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, 3rd Street Church of God with Dr. James Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Green sboro City Cemetery with Washington-Paige-Rollins' Mortuary of Green sboro directing. Visitation will be Saturday night 6-8 and the body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Clara Bell Hisaw
BUHL - Clara Bell Hisaw, age 87, died November 9, 2001, at Estes North. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sunset Chapel. Burial will follow in Calcedonia Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home directing. Visitation is tonight from 7-9 at the funeral home.
David Lewis Blevins
TUSCALOOSA - David Lewis Blevins, 52, of 836 54th Avenue E. died September 23, 2001 at Jim Walter Blue Creek #5 Mine. Services will be held today at 1:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Charles Linn officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church day of the service. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is directing.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ray L. Blevins.
Survivors include his spouse, Wanda K. Blevins, sons, David R. Blevins (Beki), Tuscaloosa; Jody S. Blevins (Cindy), Bluefield, W. Va; sisters, Cathy Wilson (Gary), Shawsville, Va; Nancy Machincia (John), Christiansburg, Va; parent, Velvie K. Blevins, Blacksburg, Va; grandchildren, Brandon #mes Boman, Stormy Marie Blevins, nieces, Jessica Machincia, Vanessa Richardson and nephews, Bradley Machincia, and Gary Wilson.

COLUMBUS Miss. - Kenneth E. Stripling, 54, died November 9, 2001 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorial Funeral Home, Columbus is directing.
Adam Wesley Smith
NORTHPORT - Adam Wesley Smith, 18, 16971 North Hagler Rd., died November 9, 2001 at U.A.B. Medical Center in Birmingham. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Phillips Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home in Northport is directing.
Preceded in death by his Grandfather, Tollie Smith.
Survivors include one brother, Shannon Smith, Northport; his mother, Sharon Smith, father Tony Smith both of Northport; grandmother, Mozell Smith, Northport, grandmother and grandfather, Clara and Hildred Smith of Northport, Great-Grand Mother, Annie Watson.
Mr. Smith Graduated from Northside High School and was Employed by W.C.I. Inc.

FAYETTE - Emily Gibson, 57, died November 10, 2001 at Fayette Medical Center. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Shepherd Baptist Church with burial following in the adjoining cemetery. William M. Terrill (Bill)
HOOVER - William M. Terrill (Bill), 62, died November 10, 2001. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 13 at Ridouts Valley Chapel with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is Monday 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at Valley Chapel.
Preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Mary Ella Terrill.
Survivors include his wife, Li Anne Terrill, Hoover; sisters, Shelia T. Hayden, Charlottesville, Va., Luanne T. Eddie, Merritt Island, Fla.; Several Nieces and Nephews; brother-in-law, John B. Weed (Ruthie), Almaty Kazakstan; parents-in-law, Ralph and Kitty Weed, Vestavia Hills.
Graduated from the University of Alabama earning his bachelors and Masters degrees. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta and the Acaia Fraternity at The University of
Alabama. He was retired from Bellsouth after almost 20 years of service.

MARION - Eugene Duke, 91, died Sunday 11, 2001 at Perry County Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Green sboro Cemetery. She went to be with the Lord on her 93rd birthday.
Preceded in death by her husband, Guy Arlee Crocker; Daughter, Catherine Crocker; son in law, J.C. Williams; brothers, Ira Hamrick, Hillman Hamrick, James Hicks, M.B. Hicks and sister, Thelma Hathcock.
Survivors include five sons, Arlee Crocker (Iris), Bill Crocker (Jean), Jimmy Crocker (Margaret), Bobby Crocker (Lynne); six daughters, Margie Hendrix (J.C.), Maureen Burnette (Sam), Nora Williams, Elsie Green (Bryant) Judy Elliott (Ed), Pat Bruno (Joe); one brother, Leon Hicks (Lunis); one sister Mellie McAfee; two Sister –In- Laws, Hazel Hamrick and Eloise Hicks; 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Winston Crocker, Richard Crocker, Jay Crocker, Michael Crocker, Scott Crocker, Rennie Hendrix, Doug Williams, John Williams, Steve Green , Calvin Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Joy Bruno and Vince Bruno.

Major John Ben Tullos, Jr. (Retired, USAF)
DOTHAN - Major John Ben Tullos, Jr., (Retired, USAF), 77 years old, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, November 10, 2001, at 11:48 p.m. at Flower Hospital, Dothan.
Services will be held 10 a.m., today, First Baptist Church of Dothan. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Shady Grove Christian Church Cemetery, near Opelika with full military rites with Byrd Funeral Home directing.
Nathan Leslie Ray
TUSCALOOSA - Nathan Leslie Ray, age 75, of 3811 26th Avenue, East, died November 11, 2001 at his residence. Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Memory Chapel with Rev. Carl Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight, at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Boyd Ray, Sr. and Fannie Lou Hammer Ray and brother, Marvin Boyd Ray, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bernice Meggs Ray; daughter, Sheila (Rob) Duffield of Auburn; sons, Glenn D. (Pat) and Paul Dexter (Karen) of Tuscaloosa; sister, Lucille Rainey of Tuscaloosa; brother, John Ray of Northport; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ray was a World War II veteran serving with the 180th Infantry Thunderbirds. He graduated from the University of Alabama and retired from B. F. Goodrich. He was a 33-degree Mason, a builder and a landlord. Throughout his life, he was a Christian, aware of his Salvation and joyful when able to help those around him. Years ahead of society, he felt our Christian obligation for compassion toward others, regardless of color or class. He taught us and he will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Jason Ray, Beau Ray, Sheri Ray, Charlie Duffield, Sam Duffield and friends and relatives, Joe Ray, Manley Carr and O. C. Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Etheridge, Mary, Searcy and Margaret, Russell and Janice, Janie, fellow Goodrich employees and retirees, fellow members of First Baptist Church, Hospice of West Alabama and other caregivers.
