ATLANTA - Carles Deandrea Deal, 37, formerly of Tuscaloosa, died November 26, 2001 at Grady Health System, Atlanta. Services will be held from Elizabeth Baptist Church, Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Liberty Church Cemetery, Tuscaloosa with Williams Service Funeral Home directing.

TUSCALOOSA - Virgil Alexander, 72, died November 26, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held from Sunset Chapel, Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home directing. Visitation is Tuesday night from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Lois Young
VERNON - Lois Young, age 83, died November 30, 2001, at her residence. A memorial services will be held at a later date at the First United Methodist Church. Chandler Funeral Home will assist the family.

TUSCALOOSA - Ina M. Ballard, age 88, died November 29, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 2 p.m. today, Sunset Chapel with Rev. Bob Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include daughters, Vera Frances of Texas, Elizabeth Rice of Moundville and Kathy Turnage of Ohio, son, Lewis T. Ballard of Ohio.
She was honored with three generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are staff of Moundville Nursing Facility, 5th Floor Staff DCH Tuscaloosa, Dr. Larry Skelton and friends of Big Sandy Baptist Church.

Ms. Flora Lucas, 91, of the Care Center in Vernon, passed away Friday, November 30, 2001 at the Fayette Medical Center in Vernon. Funeral Services will be today, December 2, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. at the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Springhill Cemetery in Fayette County. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is directing.

Hernon Jordan, 70, of 3340 Short 17th Street W., died November 28, 2001 in DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2001 at 1 p.m. from St. Paul United Methodist Church. Rev. Perry Noland will officiate. Burial will follow in West Highland Cemetery with Rollins’ Mortuary directing. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to funeral time.

Beatrice R. Buchanan, 80, formerly of Carbon Hill, AL, died Tuesday November 27, 2001. Services will be held at Piney Grove Church of Christ, Monday December 3, 2001 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home of Winfield. The body will lie in state at the church from 10-11 a.m.

Minnie Clyde Bogan, 67, of 3100 4th Street East, died November 27, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Plum Grove Baptist Church, December 3, 2001 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Westhighland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. in Chapel of Williams Service, and placed in church one hour prior to funeral time. Williams Service Funeral Home is directing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Mellie Alexander; brother, Velter Alexander; and sister, Vandine Crowell.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Alexander; daughter, Paula Golson; stepdaughters, Patsy Shelby, Jeanie Walker, Judy Latham, and Debbie Davis; sister, Vonnie Stephens; grandchildren, Brett Alexander Golson; step grandchildren, Michael McCain, Misty Martin, Charlie McCain, Melody McCain, Amanda McCain, Melissa Brown, Shelly Pate, Ricky Latham, Chris Williams, Tracey Hartley, and Travis Walters; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Jo Tidwell, and his parents, William Robert and Lorene Tidwell.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Tidwell, Oneonta; brothers, Billy R. Tidwell, Anniston, and Dan Earl Tidwell, Covington, Ga.; three nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers will be Members of the Monmartre Dance Club.

He is preceded in death by his father, John S. Hayden, Jr.; and son, John Brandon Hayden.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hayden, Birmingham; sons, Micky Hayden and Angela, Tuscaloosa, and Daniel Hayden and Christy, Tuscaloosa; step-sons, Charles A. Kinne, Birmingham, and William M. Kinne, Birmingham; mother and step-father, Vera Clouse and Gerald, Jasper; brothers, Raymond Hayden and Mary Ruth, Birmingham, and Bill Hayden and Donna, Jasper; sister, Barbara Bonham and Michael, Florence; grandchildren, Ashley Hayden, Heather Hayden, and Joshua Hayden, all of Tuscaloosa; daughter-in-law, Lisa Marie Hayden, Phoenix, Ariz.; step-brother, Kim A.Clouse and Lisa, Jasper; step-grandchildren, Chad and Kaitlyn Kinne, Paducah, Ky.
Mr. Hayden was LT. Col. With the U.S. Army 87th Division in Birmingham. He attended Jefferson State Junior College and Texas A&M University.

TUSCALOOSA - Winnie H. Cunningham, born November 1906, died December 1, 2001 in Franklin, Tenn. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at 11 a.m. in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Dr. Ervin Cook will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Chapel. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is directing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Cunningham.
Survivors include her daughters, Vera Pogue (Carey), Carrolton, Ala., and Carol Glasgow (Major General H.G. Glasgow, USMC Retired), Brentwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kris Smith Kutz, Suzanne Smith Flanagan, Darrell Bruce Smith, John Glasgow, Jeff Glasgow, and Jennie Thistlethwaite; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her niece, Charlene McGee, Northport, and her nephew, Sam McGee, Northport; three great nieces, Alice McGee, Mobile, Kelly Shinholster, Northport, and Mickey Porter, Mobile.
Mary Lamb Anders
Mary Lamb Anders, age 80, died December 2, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Otis Hill and Rev. Gary Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Her parents, John Marshall and May Ida Lamb; her sisters, Bessie Caples and Eileen Ethridge; her brothers, John Glenn Lamb and Milton Earl Lamb, as well as her great-grandson John Nicholas Price preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, G. M. "Bill" Anders, Cottondale; daughter, Jo Ann Anders Camp (Johnny), Tuscaloosa; sons, W. David Anders (Jan), Cottondale and M. Wayne Anders (Day), Northport; sisters, Jean Causey (Bob), Tuscaloosa, Doris Broughton (Randy), Clinton and Cleo Thompson, Troy; grandchildren; Tracy Camp Rodgers (Shane), Tuscaloosa, Deborah Camp Price (Anthony), Cottondale, Michelle Anders Huffsticikler (Jeff) Silver Springs, Texas, Gayle Anders Doss (Gregg), Tuscaloosa, William D. "Will" Anders, Jr., Justin, Texas, Cindy Garrison Cherry (Greg), Birmingham, Johnny Garrison (Jenny), Delray Beach, Fla., and Michael Anders, Northport; great-grandchildren are Drew Doss, Sarah Doss, Taylor Rodgers, Joshua Rodgers, Haleigh Price , Jessica Price , Kyle Huffstickler, Clara Huffstickler, Dayln Huffstickler and Garrison Cherry. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive her.
Mrs. Mary Lamb Anders was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church. She proudly served as a registered nurse for 35 years at DCH Medical Center. She held memberships in a number of organizations including the Druid Chapter of Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth, and Order of the White Shrine. She served these organizations at both the local and state levels.
Pallbearers will be Mark Causey, Bill Lamb, Richard Broughton, Jon Ethridge, Mike Lamb and Billy Wilkins.
Honorary pallbearers are neighbors, the doctors and nurses in MICU, Dr. Robert Bentley, Dr. C.S.M. Lehman, Dr. Debra Davis, Dr. Dirk Berry, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Lathum, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Johnson.
Many thanks to the neighbors, friends and church members in the Cottondale area for their thoughts and prayers. Also, we appreciate the thoughtfulness of Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge chapters in Tuscaloosa. We thank all of our friends from our years at Tuscaloosa Optical for their love and concern. The family is especially grateful for our home caregivers, Ms. Nell Jones, Ms. Susie Jones, Ms. Connie Blevins and Ms. Emma Jones.
