TUSCALOOSA - Virgil Alexander, 72, died November 26, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Sunset Chapel, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home. Sunset Funeral home is directing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Mellie Alexander; brother, Velter Alexander; and sister, Vandine Crowell.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Alexander; daughter, Paula Golson; stepdaughters, Patsy Shelby, Jeanie Walker, Judy Latham, and Debbie Davis; sister, Vonnie Stephens; grandchildren, Brett Alexander Golson; step grandchildren, Michael McCain, Misty Martin, Charlie McCain, Melody McCain, Amanda McCain, Melissa Brown, Shelly Pate, Ricky Latham, Chris Williams, Tracey Hartley, and Travis Walters; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Resnol (Rex) Youngblood, age 81, died December 3, 2001. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Burns and Rev. Todd Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Sara Youngblood Hamner; brother, Hobart Youngblood and sister; Carmen Tidwell parents Ed and Fannie Youngblood and grandparents Rufus and Annie Youngblood and Tim and Sarah Rutherford.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Youngblood, Glen Haven Nursing Home; son, Gary Youngblood, Sr., (Pat); sister, Ruby Starnes and Billie Morse both of Trafford, Ala.; brother, R. E. Youngblood, Coaling; grandchildren, Gary Youngblood, Jr., (Michele), Brandon Hamner (Donna), Tiffany Youngblood, Tara Herndon (Greg); four great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Hamner, Austin Hamner, Logan Youngblood and Matthew Herndon.
He was a member of Coaling Baptist Church and member of Local 1876 United Mine Workers of America owned and operated Youngblood Hauling. He served with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.

Jimmy Lynn (Moose) McKay, age 58, of 1702 41st Avenue, N.E., died December 3, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Pate officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Chiarella and grandparents, Ernest and Claudie Hardin.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie McKay; daughters, Vicki Dunton, Cindy Beasley (Larry), Deedie Poole (Jeff) and Glynda Arnold (Paul); brothers, Sam Chiarella and Ernest Chiarella; parents, Jack Chiarella (Bernadine); grandchildren April and Tyler Beasley, Aaron Dunton (April), Shane and Glen Arnold, Briston, Patrick and Courtney Gray and expectant great-grandchild, Madison Dunton.
He was a great husband, Dad and Papa. We will miss him dearly and cherish the wonderful memories forever.

Martice Dobbins Maxwell
Martice Dobbins Maxwell, age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2001, in the home of her daughter in Salem, Indiana. She and her husband James Sidney Maxwell, Jr., made their home in Tuscaloosa in the Big Sandy community until his death in 1966.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the services.
Martice was the daughter of Allen and Jessie Dobbins; she was born near Boaz, Ala., and was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Beatrice Lee, Ethel Smith, Tola Spruell, Ruby Dobbins and her brothers Bert, Paul and Estel Dobbins.
Survivors include a son, James A. Maxwell and his wife Mary Ann of Conyers, Ga.; daughters Carolyn Anders and her husband Larry of Salem, Ind., and Barbara Sa’Pereira and her husband Augusto of Corning, N.Y., grandchildren Ken (Mary) Anders, Dana (Jonathan) Hueftle, Julianna Maxwell, James Sa’Pereira, Maxwell Sa’Pereira, and Cecy Sa’Pereria; great-grandchildren, Carlyn Anders, Jennifer McCleery and Kristen McCleery; sister-in-laws Dorothy Maxwell of Tuscaloosa and Mary Smith of Mason City, Iowa and of her many nieces and nephews, Jo Ann Maxwell and Joseph A. Maxwell reside in Tuscaloosa.
Martice was formerly a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa and of the Katie Hobson Friendship Class. She was a teacher who taught at Cottondale and Taylorville Elementary Schools at the beginning of her career and who retired as a fourth grade teacher after many years from Englewood Elementary School.

Mrs. Leavelle is survived by her husband, Gaines S. Leavelle of Austin, Texas; son, James C. Leavelle of Austin, Texas; daughter, Jan M. Dodge (Don) of Universal City, Texas; brother, Waller Henderson, Birmingham; sister, Wyonna Franklin, Ocala, Fla.; brother-in-law, William Wagner, Apalachicola, Fla.; sister-in-law, Edna Wade, Northport, Ala., numerous nieces and nephews.

Aubrey Mitchell Cobb, Sr., age 86, of 1505 East 4th Avenue, died December 3, 2001, at Sumter Health and Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. today, Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tommy Carr officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis will be directing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emm Tomlinson Cobb.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Cobb Schilke of Murray N.C.; sons, Aubrey Mitchell Cobb, Jr., Mobile, Mark Lee Cobb, Dallas, Texas and Michael Owen Cobb, Dallas, Texas; sister, Allie Kinesbury, El Paso, Texas; cousin, Sldedge Cobb, Demopolis; five grandchildren and one grea5-grandchild.
He was born in Emelle, attended high school and college in Livingston; married Emm Tomlinson in 1935 and during the war he was in construction and helped build airports. After the ware he went to work for Marengo Mills for years and built several Vanity Fair Factories in the area and later went into the management of Marengo Mill’s for many years. He was very civic minded and built the civic center and library for the city of Demopolis. He belonged to Demopolis Rotary Club and was Citizen of the Year.

Billy Michael "Mike" Beck, age 33, died December 2, 2001, at his residence. Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Trinity Christian Center in Northport with Bro. Ed Boothe officiating.
