COTTONDALE - Emma Z. (Dawn-Dawn) Sanders, age 82, died July 10, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held 5 p.m. today at Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville with Rev. Charles E. Herron officiating. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements. Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R. M. Sanders and her first husband, Cecil Ray McManus.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn M. Brown of Cottondale; grandchildren, Bambi B. Perrigin (Steve) of Prattville, Denise Burns, Cottondale and Traci D. Brown of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Balea, Matthew and Michael Perrigin of Prattville and MariBeth, Cody and Caleb Burns of Cottondale.
Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Troy Jones, Mark Burns, Phil Hargle, Ben Mills and Shane Mills.
Honorary pallbearers are staff at Forest Manor Nursing Home.

Billy A. Boyd
MOBILE - Mr. Billy A. Boyd, a native of Tuscaloosa, and a resident of Mobile for 35 years died Monday, July 8,2002 in a local hospital. He was retired from Bell South after 30 years of service. He was a commercial fisherman and boat captain. He was an avid golfer and member of the Mobile Sertoma Club and was a Volunteer for the March of Dimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Zelma Boyd and step-mother, Beatrice Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Mary Delery Boyd, Mobile; one son, Jon Boyd (Robbin), Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Traci James (Greg), Sterling, VA; one step daughter, Michelle Dumas (Vince), Coden; one step son, George E. Connell, III, Mobile; six grandchildren, Mark Tillman, Kaili Boyd, Megan Baker, Elizabeth Dumas, Boyd E. Connell, and Matthew J. Connell; one uncle Tommy Boyd and son, Jimmy Boyd, two step-brothers, Eugene Watkins and Aubrey Watkins all of Tuscaloosa, and other relatives. Visitation will be 12 p.m. today at Radney Funeral Home followed by funeral services from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home , today at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Timothy Palmer Crump
TUSCALOOSA - Timothy Palmer Crump, 55, a resident of Tuscaloosa, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Healthsouth Medical Center in Birmingham following surgery.
A memorial service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002 at University Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa with Rev. Sandy Winter officiating.
A second memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2002, the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Ala. with Rev. John Baxter officiating. Byrd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crump was born February 8, 1947 in a Dothan Hospital and spent the early years of his life in Columbia, Ala.
After graduating from the University of Alabama he stayed in Tuscaloosa to become a free-lance writer.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Riseman of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Elizabeth Crump of Washington, D.C.; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Keel of Columbia; two brothers, James T. Keel of Houston, Texas and Lawrence A. Keel of Columbia, Ala.
David G. Barton
BANKSTON - David G. Barton, 69, died July 9, 2002 at Fayette Medical Center. Services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Winfield Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win, Ala. Rev. Kenneth Beard and Rev. John Lanier will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette is directing.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jarvis Barton, and parents, Roscoe and Ethel Barton.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Barton of Bankston, daughters, Patty (Dan) Nowiszewski of Tinley Park, Ill., and Linda ( Joe Marks) Peters of Riverside, Calif.; son, Ronald Fick of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Sybil Worsham of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dot Smith of Tuscaloosa; brother, Warren (Billie Jean) Barton of Tuscaloosa; six grandchildren; one great- grandson; 18 nieces and nephews; lots of great and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Tim Fields, Cody Beard, Terry Smith, Mitchell Lowery, and Michael Robertson.
James W. Bradford
TUSCALOOSA - James W. Bradford, age 83, died July 10, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2002, at the Chapel of Sunset Funeral Home with Mike Seales and Norman Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8, Sunday night, July 14, 2002, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 55 1/2 years, Marie Gurganus Bradford; daughters, Linda Sarka (Chris), Atlanta and Mary Rauscher (Terry), Magnolia, Texas; sons, Stanley W. Bradford, Tuscaloosa and Jim Bradford (Christina), Port Orange, Fla.; sisters, Fonda Mae Tubb (A.J.), Dean Gant, Oakman and Laura Bradford, Birmingham; brother, Joe Bradford (Marlene), Sheffield; four grandsons, two granddaughters; one great-grandson and four great-granddaughters.
He served six years in the Navy during WWII and retired from B. F. Goodrich after 37 years of service.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Unity Community and 68th Avenue, retirees of B. F. Goodrich and the Goodrich Domino Players, Central Church of Christ, Dr. Lee Thomas, Dr. Mark Ricket, Dr. Pedro Lopez.

TUSCALOOSA - Cedric Eugene Wilson, age 22, of 3733 26th Street, died Monday, July 8, 2002. Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. W. J. Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park with Rollins’ Mortuary directing. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time. GUIN - Banks Knight Plyler, age 88, died July 10, 2002. Services will be 2 p.m. today, Guin First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Guin City Cemetery with Norwood Funeral Home of Guin Directing.
Dr. Alfred Morgan Tunstall
TUSCALOOSA - Dr. Alfred Morgan Tunstall, retired orthodontist, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 15 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Dr. Ken Dunivant, Dr. Duncan Hunter and Rev. Eric Bagwell will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. in the Parker Fireside Room at the church. Interment will be at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is directing.
Dr. Tunstall was born December 29, 1917, in Mobile, Alabama, to Frances Hinton Tunstall and Brian Tunstall. Dr. Tunstall was preceded in death by his mother, Frances H. Townsend; father, Brian Tunstall; stepfather, Ernest A. Townsend; brother, John M. Tunstall; and sister, Frances T. Wehausen.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Virginia Parker Tunstall; son, Brian Parker Tunstall (Ima) of Annandale, Virginia; son, David Morgan Tunstall of Tuscaloosa; grandson, David Parker Tunstall and Parker’s mother, Teresa H. Tunstall of Tuscaloosa; three sisters, Annette Day of Tuscaloosa, Louise Edgerley of Lakewood, California, and Marjorie Vetesk (Dan) of Northport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family gives very special thanks to Gwen Lollar for her loving care and devotion during the past year.
Dr. Tunstall graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1940, after which he entered the army. He served during World War II in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Okinawa. After the war he continued active duty service in Korea and Germany, where he was military governor of Kreis Eschwege. He retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army Reserves in 1968.
He attended the University of Alabama Dental School in Birmingham from 1950 to 1954 and practiced general dentistry in Tuscaloosa. In the early 1960’s he returned to UAB to specialize in orthodonics and practiced in Tuscaloosa until his retirement in 1988.
Dr. Tunstall’s honors included being elected president of his freshman class at dental school, graduating at the top of his class with the OKU key, and serving as president of the Alabama Dental Association in 1972. He received his "Most Excellent Fellow" award in 1974 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1988 from the Alabama Dental Association. He was the past present of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry Alumni Association. He was a member of the Tuscaloosa Kiwanis Club and served as a Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church before being elected chairman of the Board of Stewards in 1958.

Norma Margaret Smith
TUSCALOOSA - Norma Margaret Smith passed away at home with her family on July 11, 2002. Born in Jemison, Alabama on September 13, 1905, she was blessed with 96 years of life.
Funeral services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14, at 2p.m. The service will be conducted by Reverend Billy Gray and Reverend Jimmy Walker. Graveside service to follow at 4:30 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jemison, Ala. Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Attaway, husband, Fred Richard Smith; daughter, Doris Jean Smith; sisters, Thelma Owsley and Lucille Hubbard.
She is survived by her son, Richard Mac Smith, daughter-in-law, Treva Smith and granddaughter, Laura Smith.
Norma loved Hopewell Baptist Church and sang in the choir until her early nineties.
Pallbearers are Ralph Howell, Hayes Cockrell, Gene Shuttlesworth, Carl Ball, Ken McGee and Ronnie Hutchinson.

Graveside were held in Sulphur Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, on Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. Bro. John Reed officiated. Arrangements were handled under the direction of Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home in Northport.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Clista Keller; father, Houston Alexander Keller; daughter, Regina Lyna Keller; and brother, Jimmy Keller.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Ann Griffin Keller of Northport; daughter, Kay Ellen Cooper (Kimothy) of Samantha; sons, Paul Latham Hawthorne (Diane) of Cottondale, Johnny Mack Keller (Brooke Maund) of Anniston, Michael Wilson Keller (Tammy) of Foster s, and Shawn Lee Keller (Sandi) of Northport; sisters, Edith Franklin Wilkes of Florence, and Helen Hagler of Samantha; grandchildren, Brian Calhoun Cooper, Tyler Keller, Fallon Ballenger Keller, Devin Keller, Aliah Keller, Krishna Keller, Nikki Hawthorne, John Bradley Schafer, Betty Wallace, Katrina Wallace, and Cody Hawthorne.
