PETERSON - Nancy Etrulia Boyd, age 87, died August 8, 2002 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Memory Hill Gardens with Rev. Jack Clary officiating. Visitation is tonight from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Boyd, father, Lee Marshall, mother, Cora Tarlton Marshall, brothers, Alfred Marshall, Joseph Marshall and sisters, Ada Boyd and Jewel Harman.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Chapman, Doris Rinker, and Sandra Kuhns, sons, Wayne Boyd, Buddy Boyd, Alfred Boyd, Ricky Boyd, sisters, Elsie McGee, Grace Deason, Agnes Hallman, Ola Mae Clements, brother, Coit Marshall, 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be relatives and grandsons.

Dr. William Cannon Lary
TUSCALOOSA - Dr. William Cannon Lary, age 80, of 7-C Country Club Hills, died August 14, 2002, at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Durham and Rev. Kevin Cauley officiating. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is directing.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Draughon Lary; daughter, Gail (Phillip) Garratt; sons, William Cannon Lary, Jr. and John Draughon Lary; grandchildren, Phillip Benjamin Garratt and Catherine Brynn Garratt.
Dr. Lary was a native of Tuscaloosa, he attended city schools and the University of Alabama. He graduated from the Southern College of Optomery in Memphis. During World War II, he served in the Army for three years in the 76th General Hospital, stationed in the U.S.A. and Europe. Dr. Lary was in private practice for 57 years.
He was Vice-President of the Jaycees and President of the YMCA Men’s Club at the time of the building of the new YMCA.
In recent years he was chairman of the adjunct faculty at the UAB Optometry School in Birmingham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hampton Bush, Sam Beatty, Milton Collier, James Ward, James Russell, M. T. Ormond, John Burnum, Norman Houfen, David McGiffert, and Charles Watson.

Bobbie Ovellia Thomas
FLEETWOOD - Bobbie Ovellia Thomas, 56 of Morrison Lane, died August 11, 2002 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. today at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Hanah Creek Road, Number 7 Mine Road with Bro. Phillip Egan officiating. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is directing.
She is preceded in death by Jimmy Hatter, Phillip Hatter and Shirley Brown, Siblings.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Lynn Thomas, Donald Joe Thomas and James Earl Thomas; sisters, Charlotte Kayden, Brenda Smith and Karen McCrory; brother, Michael Joe Hatter; parents J.B. Hatter and Mildred Hatter; grandchildren, Chris, Joe Lizzy, Tiffany, Erica and Andrew (all Thomas’); 15 nephews and five nieces.
Pallbearers will be William Barger, Kevin Abbott, Gerald Smith, Jason Smith, Jamie McCrory, Chris Fondren.
John E. (Monk) Davis
TUSCALOOSA - John E. (Monk) Davis, age 84, of 5219 Clover Road, died August 14, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Arrangements will be announced later by Heritage Chapel Funeral Home.
William Randal Dollar
WEST MONROE, La. - William Randal Dollar, 48, of West Monroe. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe.
Mr. Dollar died on August 9, 2002 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Dollar attended St. Matthews Catholic Church and volunteered numerous hours to the Twin City Ballet. He was a CASA supporter and supported The United Way for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joni Dollar; son, David Dollar; two daughters, Meghan Dollar and Annie Dollar; parents, John and Betty Dollar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Myrtle Wyles; numerous uncles, aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald H. Dollar, Jack M. Dollar, Jimmy D. Dollar, Randy Hayes, Frank Giovingo, Gary Wyles, Tommy Fields, Dale Molar and Larry Moore.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe.

RIVERDALE, GA. - Deborah "Debi" Williams Jacobi, age 53, died Friday, August 16, 2002 at Fayette Community Hospital. James Bernard "J. B. " Wilson
NORTHPORT - James Bernard "J. B." "Bird" Wilson, passed on Saturday, August 10, at his home. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 15, 2002 from the First Baptist Church of Northport. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Coker. Mr. Wilson will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church and on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Van Hoose and Steel Funeral Home. Van Hoose and Steele Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements.
Lloyd Richardson
TUSCALOOSA - Lloyd Richardson, 89, of 49 Cherokee Hills East, died August 19, 2002 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Dunivant and Rev. Duncan Hunter will officiate with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing.
He was born in Columbus, Miss., and was the son of a wholesale grocer. He was employed by L.W. Richardson and Co. until 1949, when he moved to Tusacaloosa and established Richardson Brothers Co. with his twin brother Luther Richardson. He continued to operate the business until 1998.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Eulon Richardson, Luther Washington Richardson, and Clayton Henry Richardson, Sr. and sister, Leota Richardson Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eloise Colvin Richardson, Tuscaloosa; a daughter, Katherine Ann Richardson Bedingfield (Joe), Fort Myers, Fla.; granddaughter, Katherine Lloyd Bedingfield Grant (Phillip), Dunwoody, Ga.; grandson, Joseph Pearson Bedingfield, Jr. (Catherine), and great-grandson, Joseph Pearson Bedingfield, III, of Birmingham, Ala.; and brother, Oren Richarson, Columbus, Miss.; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would also like to express their thanks to Dr. Ross Vaughn, Dr. Leonard Jones and Dr. Omer Baker, along with all the nurses who assisted with his care while at DCH, and the staff at Martinview.

Marguerite Henderson Dempsey
NORTHPORT - Marguerite Henderson Dempsey died August 18, 2002 at Estes Glen Haven Nursing Home. She was born December 10, 1915, and was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Gertrude Henderson and brother Julian Henderson.
Marguerite was a long time resident of Tuscaloosa and member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, She was employed for many years by Dr. Luther Richardson.
Survivors include two brothers, William H. Henderson (Gene) and James H. Henderson (Edna) of Tuscaloosa. Four Sisters, Marie Penton, Tuscaloosa, Claudia Hilburn, Tuscaloosa, Merrill Clark (Charles) Birmingham, Catherine Leonard, Thomasville, North Carolina, several Nieces and nephews.
Marguerite touched many lives with her strong character and love for her family, friends, and neighbors. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed as a long time and faithful volunteer at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Wells officiating and Memory Chapel assisting family with burial at Williamson Cemetery in Northport. Visitation at Memory Chapel one hour prior to service.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Eades.
Survivors include his wife, Flor A. Edds, Romulus; daughter, Frances (Gary) Wilson, Romulus; sons, Ernest (Debra) Edds, Jr., Romulus, Edwin Edds, Dallas, Texas, and Jose De La Cruz, Northport; mother, Jane Brodelon, grandchildren, Laura Edds, Ernest Edds, III, and Taylor Wilson, all from Romulus.
Mr. Edds served in the 82nd Airbourne for 15 years.
