Unareed Burton Moore Harris

TUSCALOOSA - Mrs. Unareed Burton Moore Harris, age 86, of 4212 30th Place, died on Monday, January 8, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Plum Grove Baptist Church. Her son, Elder Dr. Terrell Harris, Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow in Hopewell Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Union with Van Hoose and Steele Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Her body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to funeral time.

Surviving relatives include nine children: Mrs. Fannie Mae (Houston) Chambers, Eutaw; Mrs. Hazel G. (John) Dunn; Mrs. Eva (Walter) Owens, Tuscaloosa; Elder Dr. Terrell (Pearl) Harris, Harvest, Ala.; Husain A. (Nur) Alim, Tuscaloosa; Dr. Trudier Harris, Chapel Hill, N.C.; Peter (Kim) Harris, Peoria, Ariz.; Eddie L. (Cheryl) Harris; Anna H. McCarthy, Tuscaloosa; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Burton, Tuscaloosa; twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "Terrell and Unareed Harris Scholarship Fund," Office of Alumni Affairs, Stillman College, P.O. Box 1430, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401.

Sammie Ingram

ALICEVILLE - Sammie Ingram, 55, died Jan. 9, 2001, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from noon until 8 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Lavender Funeral Service is directing.

Janie Hicks Knight

EUTAW - Janie Hicks Knight, 80, died Jan. 6, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at New Bethany Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Ala. on Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Walker Place Cemetery in Lewiston, Ala. Gandy Funeral Home of Eutaw is directing.

Hattie Lanier

ALICEVILLE - Hattie Lanier, 85, died Jan. 6, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at Emory Chapel C.M.E. Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Bethany Town. Visitation is today from noon until 8 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Lavender Funeral Service is directing.

Bertha Lee Marshall

TUSCALOOSA - Bertha Lee Marshall, 68, died Jan. 6, 2001, at her home. Services will be at Mt. Carmel C.M.E. Church in Ralph at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park. Viewing hours are today from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Van Hoose and Steele is directing.

Bennie McCain Sr.

NORTHPORT - Bennie McCain Sr., 67, of 2201 32nd Street, died Jan. 8, 2001, at Glenn Haven Nursing Home. Services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jessie Miller officiating. Burial will be at West Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from noon to 7 p.m. Wills’ Funeral Service, Inc. is directing.

David Lee Morris Sr.

DOLLARHIDE - David Lee Morris Sr., 99, died Jan. 7, 2001, at his residence. Services will be Saturday at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boligee at noon. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with McInnis Mortuary of Eutaw directing.

Paul Norman

BOLIGEE - Paul Norman, 65, died Jan. 2, 2001, at his residence. Services will be held at Mt. Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Boligee on Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Knott Cemetery. Gandy Funeral Home of Eutaw is directing.

Lucy Rice

BOLIGEE - Lucy Rice, 105, died Jan. 9, 2001, at Greene County Hospital. Services will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church in Boligee on Saturday at 11 a.m. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Cannon Shore Cemetery. Gandy Funeral Home of Eutaw is directing.

Barbara Corley Shaw

LEEDS - Barbara Corley Shaw, 60, formerly of Demopolis, died Jan. 9, 2001, at her residence. Services will be held at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Chapel today at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at the chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Brewersville Cemetery in Coatopa. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is directing.

Frances Louise Sorrells

GUIN - Ms. Frances Louise Sorrells, passed away Jan. 10, 2001, at the Marion Baptist Hospital in Hamilton, Ala. Services are today at 2 p.m. at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Taylor Springs Cemetery. Otts Funeral Home is directing.

Arthur James Stanton

PANOLA - Arthur James Stanton, 66, died Jan. 8, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Panola Community Center on Saturday at noon. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery. Gandy Funeral Home of Eutaw is directing.

Fannie Parham Steele

NORTHPORT - Fannie Parham Steele, 79, of 2402 Snows Mill Avenue, died Jan. 8, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at New Zion Baptist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. E.J. James Jr. officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Cedar Oak Memorial Park. Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 7:30. Williams Service Funeral Home is directing.

Survivors include three daughters, Geneva Ray, Dorothy A. Hughes and Alice F. Steele, all of Tuscaloosa; three sons, John R. Steele (Joyce), Charles Steele and Marvin Steele (Naomi), all of Tuscaloosa; a daughter-in-law, Lillie Steele; two sisters-in-law, Beadie Ann Steele and Willie Mae FuQua; one brother-in-law, Tommy Steele; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sampson White Sr.

GREENSBORO - Sampson "Slim" White Sr., 64, of 512 Kilpatric Street, died Jan. 4, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church in Green sboro on Saturday at noon. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Agnew Funeral Home is directing.

Tommie Wilson

TUSCALOOSA - Tommie Wilson, 93, of 6219 62nd Avenue, died Jan. 8, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Fairview Methodist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Curtis Ball officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Oak Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from noon to 7 p.m. Wills’ Funeral Service, Inc. is directing.

Vera Burton Youngblood

NORTHPORT - Vera Burton Youngblood, died Jan. 10, 2001. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Galilee Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Viewing hours are today from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Van Hoose and Steele is directing.

Lillie H. Zeanah

TUSCALOOSA - Lillie H. Zeanah, 64, died Jan. 9, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Sunset Chapel today at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dewey Thomas and Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at Pineywoods Baptist Church Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home is directing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Zeanah.

Survivors include her brother, David Humphrey (Johnnie); a special aunt, Ruby Mashburn; a niece, Amilia Fenimore; a nephew, Dustin Humphrey, and several cousins.

She was a member of Stone Memorial Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Reggie Banks, James Banks, Robert Banks, Charles Stafford, Lowell Fields and Paul Price .

Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Heritage Nursing Home and friends and neighbors of Field Crest Apartments.
