Arba Mernell White Bly, 72, of Quitman died Feb. 13, 2002.
She was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin Bly of Cabot, Rande Bly of Jacksonville, and Larry
Bly of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Marvin White and Walter White; her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Feb. 23, at the Faith Baptist Church at
Quitman. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home Inc. of Heber Springs.
Betty J. Hoskinson
Betty J. "Ya-Ya" Hoskinson, 54, of Jacksonville died Feb. 13, 2002.
Survivors are her mother, Lilla Smythe, originally of Ward; two brothers, Joe Smythe of
Searcy, and James Smythe of Batesville; son, Steven Lewis Hoskinson of Jacksonville;
daughter, Melissa Beckham-Northington, Ft. Hood, Texas; and a grandson.
Funeral was private.
Lillie Arsula Riggs
Lillie Arsula Riggs, 97, of Jacksonville died Feb. 19, 2002.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, a member of the Order of
the Eastern Star, and a volunteer for the Jacksonville Senior Citizens Center. She was
retired from Capitol Wholesale in Little Rock.
Survivors include sons, James E. Riggs Sr. of Mountain Home, Rev. John D. Riggs of
Durant, Okla., and Joe C. Riggs of Cabot; a brother, Leonard Hamilton of Battle Creek,
Mich.; a sister, Mickie Hoffman of Wichita Falls, Texas; nine grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at noon, Feb. 21, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, North Little
Rock.

Thomas H. Edmondson Jr.
Thomas H. Edmondson Jr., 60, of Jacksonville died Feb. 17, 2002.
He retired CW2 with the Army National Guard and was a member of the VFW Post
4548 in Jacksonville.
He is survived by three sons, Stephen C., Matthew W. and Thomas H. Edmondson; a
daughter, Sherry D. Earhart; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Dwight Joseph Guidry
Dwight Joseph Guidry, age 50, died Feb. 21, 2002.
His professions included realty and food service management. He was a member of
ABATE Chap. 13, VFW, and numerous auto and motorcycle clubs. He was a
decorated Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by sisters, Jo McKinney of Albuquerque, Brenda Hendrick of Akron,
Dottie Hopkins of Albuquerque, Kathy Guidry of Santa Fe; and brothers, Johnnie Guidry
of Orange, Kevin Guidry of Denver, Jim Lowden of Jacksonville.
Services were Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Arkansas National Cemetery in Little Rock. Burial
was in Arkansas State Cemetery.
Ruby Lee Hutchens
Ruby Lee Evans Hutchens, 73, of Jacksonville, formerly of Alexander, died Saturday.
Survivors: sons, Paul and Glenn; daughters, Sandra and Gloria.
Graveside services were Feb. 26 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Margaret Schultz
Margaret Lucile "Muggy" Benson Schultz, age 44, of Jacksonville, died Feb. 23, 2002.
Survivors include her daughters, Eva and Sylvia Schultz of Jacksonville, Kim Schultz of
North Little Rock; sons, Cecil and Jesse Schultz of Jacksonville; a granddaughter;
mother, Betty Jean Benson of North Little Rock; brothers, Lonnie Wayne Benson and
Larry Benson of North Little Rock; sisters, Peggy Jordan and Terri Moody of North
Little Rock, Barbara Thomas of Sherwood.

Gip Coffman
Gip Coffman, age 71, of Sherwood, died Friday.
He was a carpenter, a member of Carpenters Local 690, a member of the Moose Lodge
in North Little Rock, and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; a son, Gary Coffman of Jacksonville; a daughter, Treva
Roberts of North Little Rock; a brother, Elbert Coffman of Russellville; four sisters,
Christine Trigg of Sherwood, Louise Tucker of Russellville, Wathina Williams of Atkins,
and Vera Epperson of Morrilton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday, Feb. 25, at Shinn Chapel in Russellville. Burial was in Tate
Cemetery near Appleton.

Michael Austin Cumbie
Michael Austin Cumbie, infant son of Michael and Amberlie (Folsom) Cumbie, of North
Little Rock, passed away Feb. 22, 2002. Other survivors include his grandmothers,
Diann Siegele of Jacksonville and Barbara Albert of North Little Rock; aunts, Gracie
Stone, Marcia Cumbie and Morgan Cumbie; uncles, Jeff Varnedore, Adam Albert,

Bernice Starks, 49, of Jacksonville, died Feb. 19, 2002.

James Lee Arthur Jr.
James Lee Arthur Jr., age 75, of Carlisle, died Sunday, March 3, 2002.
He attended the Hamilton United Methodist Church at Carlisle and was a retired
supervisor for the North Little Rock Street Department.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Susan Rounsaville of Little Rock; two
grandsons; a brother, David Arthur of Augusta; and sisters, Maxine Burson of West
Helena, Esther Arseneau, Jacksonville, Wanda Dupree of Bossier City, La., and Nancy
Buckllew of Newport, Ore.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 6, in the Roller Chenal Funeral Home
Chapel. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Judsonia.

June Marie Brooks Russell, age 71, of Little Rock, died Saturday, March 2, 2002.
She is survived by sons, John W. Russell of Jacksonville and David H. Russell of Little
Rock; daughter, Mary Evans of Little Rock; 2 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter.

Cal Colclough Jr., age 72, of Little Rock died March 1, 2002.
He retired with 47 years of service to Sears Roebuck & Company. He was a devoted
member of Payne Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Bea; his children, LeRoy, Larry, Sheryl, Timothy and
Ollie Colclough-McDaniel, all of Little Rock, Rick of Russellville and Robbie of Coppell,
Texas; four brothers, Lawrence and David of North Little Rock, Arthur and Willie of

Annie Bell Stewart Roy, 75, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Lee Brunson; one daughter, Jo Ann Cleveland; two
brothers, Eddie Stewart and Charles Stewart, all of North Little Rock; two sisters, Anna
Drayton of Jacksonville, and Christine Rhymes of Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and
11 great-grandchildren.

Elbert J. Rackley Jr.
Elbert J. Rackley Jr. age 62, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002.
He was a truck driver and a member of Satillo Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Rackley; three sons, James Rackley, of Hot Springs,
Kenneth Rackley and Donald Rackley, both of Jacksonville; two brothers, Thomas
Rackley, of Benton, and Larry Rackley, of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

David Davis
David Ghyrane Davis, age 54, died Friday, March 1, 2002.
He was a chief inspector with a pipeline construction company and a member of the
Bald Knob Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Smith Davis, son Kevin Davis, daughter Jennifer
McCabe; and a grandson, all of Bald Knob; three brothers: Wallace Davis, Jacksonville,
Thomas Davis and Bill Davis, Bald Knob; six sisters: Betty Mayfield, Russell, Norma
Mihelic, Ann Carpenter and Kaye Morrison, Bald Knob, Ruby York, Shreveport, La.,
and Paula Bennett of Judsonia.

Virginia McElvaine
Virginia Lee Ray McElvaine, 79, died Feb. 27, 2002.
She was employed as a nutrition aide, Jefferson County Extension Office, where she
remained until her retirement. She was also a nurse's aide at Trinity Village. She was a
member of New Town M.B. Church in the 1960s. She united with the First Trinity
Church of God in Christ for over 40 years. Her special ministries consisted of the state
and local. She was a recipient of Civil Service Award presented by the National
Sunshine Band Leader for 30 years of service.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Woodus of Pine Bluff; one stepdaughter, Elyvn
Curry of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Mildred Stewart of Pontiac, Mich., Stella Brewer of
Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Reedie Ray of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at the First Trinity Church of God in Christ. Burial was in V.A.
National Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home.
Curtis Stover
Curtis Evans Stover, 61, of Little Rock died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002.
He was a United States Army veteran, and received his Doctorate in Medicine from
UAMS. In 1981 he moved to Little Rock, where he founded the Little Rock Family
Planning Clinic from which he retired in 1999. He was a member of the Arkansas
Medical Association, the National Abortion Federation, the American Civil Liberties
Union, and charter member of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, two sons, Ronnie Stover of Little Rock, and
Eddie Stover of New Orleans, La., a sister, Marie Duncan.

Kyong Hui Cho Rattler, age 46, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002.
She was a member of the Korean First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, where she
served as deacon.
She is survived by a son, David J. Rattler; and two sisters, Yong Chin, Cho Gong.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 6, at the Korean First Baptist Church,
Jacksonville. Burial was in National Cemetery.

Henry O Neal Edwards Jr., age 58, of Jacksonville, died Monday, March 11, 2002.
He was an employee of AFCO Steel for 38 years and an auxiliary policeman in
Jacksonville for 11 years.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Edwards of Chidester; one daughter, Michell Ordway of
Jacksonville; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mollie Bell Madding of Yucaipa, Calif.,
Geraldine Green of Beebe; and one brother, Thomas Raymond Edwards of Oil Trough.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial at 3 p.m.,
Thursday in Red Hill Cemetery, Chidester.
Mickey McKee
Mickey McKee, 72, of Cabot, and former resident of Woodruff County area, died
Sunday, March 10, 2002.
Thompson-Wilson Funeral Homes of McCrory and Wynne were in charge of private
family services.
McKee was a retired production manager from both Revere of Newport and Southern
Coating and Nameplate of Sherwood. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and belonged to
the Arkansas Bikers, Motorcycle Freedom and Arkansas Motorcycle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy McKee of the home; and one daughter, Laurie Coe
Shane, of Newport.

Waneta Boydstun Winfrey, 77 of Mayflower, died Monday, March 11, 2002.
She was a member of Lake Conway Assembly of God.

Winfrey of Jacksonville; three daughters, Vera Paulette Smith of Mayflower, Wanda

Wash.; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Flossie Bowlan, age 67, died March 8, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Becky Davis of Scott, Betty Davis of West Helena,
Bennie Bowlan of England, Ruby Alberson of Carlisle and Judy Davis of Jacksonville;
sister, Dora Calvert of El Paso; brothers, Larry Davenport and Bobby Davenport of
Little Rock; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Carlisle Cemetery.

Karmen Delilah Malone of Jacksonville, died Aug. 27, 2002.
She is survived by her parents, Kornelius Malone and Darcia Rowe; sister,
Jana Malone Gould; grandparents, Dale and Gwen Rowe and Anthony and
Renata Mitchell; great-grandparents, George and LaVenita Harris, Marie
Thomas and Frank and Pat Rowe.
