Monnie Bell White Bell, age 84, of Sherwood, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Bell of Sherwood; one son, Robert Bell of St. Louis, Mo.; three
daughters, Jackie Bell Irwin of Sherwood, Vicki Weatherford of Hot Springs, and Terri Swedenburg of West
Little Rock; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was Monday, Feb. 11, in the Rest Hills Chapel. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander.

Alice Elnora Jones
Alice Elnora Jones, died Feb. 1, 2002.
She was a retired high school English teacher, having spent most of her career at Sylvan Hills High School.
She is survived by her sister, Lois Power of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Kathryn Gossien, of Little Rock,
and Alyce Drewel of Springfield, Mo.; one son, Dan Jones of Camden; six grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
A private service was held. Arrangements were by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Springfield, Mo.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Southwest Missouri or to the
donor's choice.
Harry Lee Rogers
Harry Lee Rogers, 83, of North Little Rock died Feb. 8, 2002.
Survivors include a son, Paul Rogers of Edgewater, Colo.; daughters, Martha J. Thomas of Tinton Falls, N.J.,
Barbara A. Middleton of Sherwood, and Dr. Janet S. Rogers of Edinboro, Pa.; a brother, Herbert S. Rogers,
of Gables, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield, Mo.
Arrangements were by Cremation Association of Arkansas.
Terry LaSpina
Terry LaSpina, 51, of North Little Rock died Feb. 6, 2002.
She served 22 years in law enforcement with Sherwood, Camp Robinson and retired from Camp Robinson
Public Safety.
She is survived by her husband, Mario Joseph LaSpina; children, Jody LaSpina, Bryan LaSpina, Sammy
France, and Donnie Martin; three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Huson Funeral Home Chapel.
Drusilla Harper
Drusilla Lucille Harper age 91 of North Little Rock died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002.
Survivors are two sons, George A. Harper, Jr., Clinton E. Harper; one daughter, Carolyn Weisner; sister
Thelma Treadway; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Thursday, Jan. 7, Edgewood Memorial Park with Bro. Tony Bradford officiating.

Oris Wesley Harris, 82, of Sherwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood, a veteran of WWII, stationed in the Hawaiian
Islands and Christmas Island. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; sons, Gary of Sherwood and Thomas of Lowell; daughter, Lisa Dodd
of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Idis, Herman and John Harris; and
sister, Opal Taylor.
Funeral services were Feb. 1, at Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood. Burial was in Hardin Cemetery in
Pine Bluff.
Myrtle Jackson
Myrtle Jackson, age 85 of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, Jan. 29.
She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Othar; brother, Otis Knight of Sherwood; son, Marion Jackson of Tulsa; sister,
Blanche Hanes of Oklahoma City; half sister, Joy Smith; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Feb. l, at Edgewood Memorial Park.

Clive G. Thorn, 79, of North Little Rock, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002. He is survived by a son, Gordon Thorn of
Florida; three daughters, Kathleen Harris of Jacksonville, Mary Govett of Texas and Elizabeth Spigelmyer of
North Carolina; sister, Dorothy Southern of Sherwood; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville.
H.L. "Bud" Harshbarger
H.L. "Bud" Harshbarger, 72, of Cabot passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002.
Bud was a World War II Veteran and received the Japanese World War II Medal. He was a
member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hazel Harshbarger; one brother and two
sisters.
Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Parks Harshbarger of Cabot; three daughters, Judy
Cordell of Carlisle, Saundra Hutchins of Cabot, and Rhonda Doyle of Sherwood; two brothers,
Marvin and Russell Harshbarger both of Indiana; five sisters, Gartha Webb, Shirley Coffman, and
Debbie Harshbarger, all of Indiana, Delores Mitchell of Florida and Karen Coffman of Arizona;
three grandchildren, Jody Anthony of Hazen, Cody Cordell of Benton, Cory Hutchins of Cabot; and
one great-grandchild, Hannah Anthony of Hazen.
Visitation was 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2002 with the family receiving friends
from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 Graveside at
Arkansas Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
John "Bill" Smith
Retired MSgt John W. "Bill" Smith, 71, of North Little Rock died Jan. 18, 2002. He served during
the Vietnam War with the United State Air Force and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie; six sons, Timothy of Shannon Hills, Michael of North Little Rock,
Joey of Furlow, Dennis of North Little Rock, Calvin of Shannon Hills, and Alan of Furlow; 13
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood. Interment was in Butlerville
Cemetery, with full military and Masonic honors.
Ora Blasingame
Ora Willie Blasingame, 88, of Sherwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 in Springdale.
She was co-owner of Blasingame Grocery in North Little Rock and was involved in real estate sales
and rentals. She was an election poll worker for Pulaski County, pianist for Grace Baptist Church
and a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Patsy Greer of Springdale and Linda Newton of Sherwood; one son
Billy Blasingame of Alma; a sister, Georgia Webster of San Bernardino, CA; seven grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Pinecrest Cemetery, Little Rock, by
Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at
North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock.

Arthur L. Clay, Jr., 74, of North Little Rock died January 22.

She was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Sherwood.

Chagrin Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Benny Joe Roberts Sr., 67, of Beebe, formerly of Sherwood, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002.
He was retired Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Army and a member of El Paso First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. "Beth" Roberts; three sons, Joe Roberts of Benton, Greg
Roberts of Beebe, Rusty Roberts of Sherwood; one sister, Ida Ruth Corbitt of Houston, Texas; five
grandchildren.

Harold R. Wyatt, 55, of Conway died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002.
He was a supervisor at Southwestern Bell, a member of Harlan Park Bible Church, Crescent
Masonic Lodge-NLR, Telephone Pioneers and the Army National Guard. He was past president of
Rebel Reelers Square Dance Club and the Bryant Booster Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Wyatt of Conway; two daughters, Audrea Toal and Jennifer
Sides of Conway; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Hagerman and Carma Robinson, both of
Sherwood.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge, St. Marys CME, church treasurer, recording steward,
treasurer for White County Singing Federation, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his father, Eugene Bowman of Saginaw, Mich.; one son, R. Kevin Bowman of
Sherwood; one daughter, Tamara Lynn Johnson of Little Rock; three brothers, David Bowman of
Marvell, Preston Bowman of Jonesboro, Charles Bowman of Saginaw, Mich.; four sisters, Mona
Coleman, Mavis Green, both of Little Rock, Alma Jean Woodmore of St. Louis, Sarah Jamison of
Saginaw, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Dallas, Texas, Lesa McGhee of Sherwood; sister, Doris Huddle of Houston, Texas; three
grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Cemetery in Adona.
