Hazel Ann Risher
Hazel Ann Risher, 64, of Crossett died Friday, January 14, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Mrs. Risher was born February 5, 1935, to Bobby and Lena Frisby. She was retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of the South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Joe C. Risher of Crossett; three sons, Roger D. Teague of Phoenix, Mark C. Risher of Crossett and Randy S. Risher of Houston, TX; a daughter, Linda D. Goodwin of Crossett; three brothers, Charles Frisby of Crossett, Bob Frisby of Bay and Curly Frisby of Crossett; two sisters, Lillie Reed of Monroe, LA, and Betty Krouse of Minden, LA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, January 17, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Dan Webb officiating. Pallbearers were Bobby Sled, Glen Sled, Greg Sivils, Terry Upshaw, Wade Upshaw, Todd Grubbs, Johnny Paterson and Philip Deal. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Florence E. Wheelock
Mrs. Florence Etheridge DeSutter Wheelock, 79, of Hamburg died Thursday, January 6, 2000, at the North Monroe Hospital in Monroe, LA. A native of Hamburg, she was a former resident of Beaumont and San Antonio, TX, a homemaker and retired dental hygienist and was the first licensed dental hygienist in Texas. She was a member of the Hamburg First United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ashley County Library Society. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Wheelock in 1992 and David DeSutter in 1954, and her parents, Y. W. and Ruth Brown Stapleton Etheridge.
Survivors are a son, Allen A. DeSutter and wife Karla of Hamburg; and a sister, Frances Way of San Antonio, TX.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, in the Hamburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Shafer officiating. Pallbearers were Stanton and Billy Veazey, Joe Foote, Bill Johnson, Jimmy McKinney and John William Spivey. Burial followed services at the Hamburg Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Hamburg First United Methodist Church, 202 South Main, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Manervia Williams
Manervia Williams, 87, of the White Station community outside Crossett died Friday, January 14, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Ashley County, a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Williams; her parents, Ed and Annie Washington Gilliam; and a sister, Roberta Tucker.
Survivors are a son, Eddie Williams of Crossett; two daughters, Pauline Radford and Helen Tucker of Crossett; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, January 20, at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. B. J. Jackson officiating. Pallbearers will include T. L. Lowe, Richard Montgomery, Bobby R. Brown, Larry Dawson, Hayward Hollins, and Lester Tucker, Jr. Burial will follow services at the Ryles Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Bernice Haisty Durham
Bernice Haisty Durham, 81, of Crossett died Monday, January 10, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born September 12, 1918, in Monticello to William Preston and Ecil Wells Haisty, she was the window of Robert Walter Durham. She was also preceded in death by a sister, LaBonne Willene (Deanie) Haisty Jordan.
Survivors are three brothers, Wesley Kenneth Haisty of Lebanon, MO, Carroll Wood Haisty of Crossett and John Stanley Haisty of Springdale; and a sister, Dorothy Nell Haisty Byrne of Franklin, MA.
Grave-side services are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, at Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. There will be no public visitation.
