Myra Weatherly Travis
Myra Weatherly Travis of Bastrop, LA, died Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at the Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. She was a retired nurse for Morehouse General Hospital and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Travis; two sons, Mike Travis and wife Paula and Steve Travis and wife Rita of Bastrop; a sister, Shirley Weatherly Travis of Crossett; a brother, James Weatherly of Crossett; three grandchildren, Karen Travis Diel and husband Scott, Kevin Travis and Christopher Travis, all of Bastrop; and two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Whitney Diel.
Funeral services were the Bethel Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 1, with Rev. Carlos Trapp officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Coody, Gary Stevenson, Sam Little, Craig Oliphant, Ronald Hopkins and Lloyd "Buddy" Richards. Honorary pallbearers were John Stringer and the deacons of the church. Burial followed services at the Causey Cemetery, directed by Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop. Memorials may be made to the Mount Zion Cemetery Fund or contact a family member for other memorials.

Mr. Marion Eugene White
Mr. Marion Eugene White, 88, of Hamburg died Monday, December 27, 1999, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. A native of Ashley County, he retired from the Georgia-Pacific Extrusion Plant and was a member of the Gardner Baptist Church and an U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Waits White; his second wife, Nadine Hadley White; his parents, three brothers, Olin, Varner and Dewayne White; and two sisters, Goldie Sivers and Bernice Wigley.
Survivors are a daughter, Marion LaFaye White of Crossett; three brothers, Roger White of Hamburg, Harold White of Benton and Roy White of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Dean Howie of Crossett and Inez Corder of Hollandale, MS; and two grandchildren, Tanya White Hanschen of Bemidji, MN, and Stephen White of Fulldale, AL.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 30, in the Gardner Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Pullin and Eugene Howie officiating. Pallbearers were David Smith, Danny Smith, Earl Sivils, Gary Smith, Royce Wigley and Don White. Honorary pallbearers were Royce Bowden, Kenny Bowden, Fred Silver, Doyle Sivils and Leonard Farrar. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Lois Nell Carpenter
Lois Nell Carpenter, 68, of Crossett died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. Born September 27, 1931, to Jessie and Mattie Jones Locke in Fountain Hill, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Gary Carpenter and wife Marlys of Crossett; a daughter, Sharon Anders and husband Everett of Liberty, TX; three brothers, J. C. Locke of Cabot, Julian Locke of Petit Jean and Vernon Locke of Fountain Hill; a sister, Valarie Smith of Monroe, LA; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, in the Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Roy Craig and Donnie DuBose officiating. Pallbearers were Clinton and Ryan Carpenter, Mike Watson, Kenny and Steve Kelley and Bob Lloyd.
Burial followed services at the Prairie Grove Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Elizabeth Hampton
Elizabeth Hampton, 81, of Vallejo, CA, formerly of Crossett, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Crossett. A native of Huttig, she had lived in Vallejo for the past seven years and was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Church of God in Christ in Vallejo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dallas Hampton; two sons, Willie Lee and Clinton Hampton; her parents, Will and Beulah McHenry Carney; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include eight sons, Raymond, Billy, Lavell, Johnny and Charles Hampton of Crossett, Troy Hampton of Camden, Roy Hampton of Vallejo, CA, and Walter Hampton of Texas; seven daughters, Beulah Mae Daniels of Crossett, Mary Hendrix, Ella Maxine Sanford, Dorothy Wright, Leola Davis, Corene Hampton and Lois Hampton of Vallejo; one brother, George Carney of Portland, OR; 65 grandchildren, 124 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3, in the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Nolan Phillips officiating. Pallbearers were Revs. O. T. Carlock and Tracey Hampton, Doyle Miller, Toney Ray Williams, Gary Hollins and Melvin Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Levell, Johnny, Troy, Roy, and James Hampton and Thomas Jones.
Burial followed services at the Carlock Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
