Robert Calvin Howard
Robert Calvin Howard of Hamburg, infant son of Robert (Bo) & Tonya Rice Howard, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000 ,at the North Monroe Hospital in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Calvin Rice.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Beacher & Chris Ferrell of Crossett; his paternal grandparents, Mark & Sharon Deless of Crossett and Joel Howard of Hammond, LA; his paternal great-grandparents, Tink & Judd Dosser of Bastrop, LA and great-grandparents, Fulton & Janie Brockwell of Eudora and Harvey and Annie Rice of Winthrop.
Grave-side funeral services and interment were at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 16, in the Carlock Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Watt officiating. Funeral arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.

LaVada Johnson
LaVada Johnson, 93, of Crossett died Thursday, June 8, 2000, in North Little Rock. Born November 6, 1906, in Alexandria, LA, to Winnick Buford and Lessie Randall Prudhomme, she was a former employee of Chase Bag, a certified welder in the California shipyards during World War II, a homemaker and a member of the Unity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death a son, Nelson Randall, Jr., and her husband, Braska Johnson.
Survivors include a son, Stanley Randall of Briceland, CA; a daughter, Verna Fay Johnson of Crossett; two sisters, Jimmie Lane Guinn of West Monroe, LA, and Juanita Bratton of Milsap, TX; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 10, in the Jones Funeral Home in Crossett with Revs. Lawrence Amos, Joey Meredith and Bob Lonidier officiating.
Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Alvin Riles
Alvin Riles, 79, of Crossett died Friday, June 16, 2000, at the St. Francis Medical Center. Born November 8, 1920, in Rawls to Willie William and Etta Rice Riles Lum, he was an U. S. Marine Corps veteran of Pearl Harbor in World War II, a thirty-second degree Mason and a member of Crossett Lodge #576. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominoes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Pruitt, and his parents.
Survivors include a son, Robert Alvin Riles of Crossett; two daughters, Betty Lou Wisecarver of Hamburg and Kathy Miles of Crossett; a brother, Tommy Russel Riles of Crossett; a sister, Willie Mae Miller of Crossett; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Monday, June 19, in the Meridian Baptist Church with Rick Pyron and Gayle Riles officiating.
Burial followed services at the Hickory Grove Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

Alice Ara Weaver
Alice Ara Weaver, 79, of Crossett died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at the Countrywood nursing facility in Monticello. She was born November 24, 1920, in Winfield, AL, to Lewis C. and Lula Beasley Estes.
Survivors include a son, Frankie D. Weaver, Sr., of Crossett; two daughters, Freddie Ann Sharp of Crossett and Patsy Stuard of Hermitage; two brothers, Roy C. Estes of Winfield, AL, and W. Kary Estes of Sulligent, AL; a sister, Fannie Weeks of Winfield, AL; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 19, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Crossett with Carlton White and Lloyd Townsend officiating. Burial followed services at the Crossroads Cemetery.
