Mrs. Louise McGilton Harville
Mrs. Louise McGilton Harville, 78, of Mendenhall, MS, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Harville was a native of Fountain Hill, a resident of Mendenhall for the past 15 years and a former resident of Crossett & Hamburg. She was a homemaker and a member of the Judson Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie Harville in 1987, a son, Eugene Harville, a daughter, Glenda Phillips, her parents, Joe & Luna Ford McGilton, a brother, Raymond McGilton and a sister, Virginia Jeffers.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Jeffers of Mendenhall two brothers, Roger McGilton of Snyder and Leon Jeffers of Conway; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, at the Judson Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Craig officiating. Pallbearers were to be James Jeffers, Ronnie & Randy Williamson, Edward Phillips, Robbie & Rodney Harville. Honorary pallbearers were to be Cecil Jeffers & Bobby Hamm. Interment was to follow services at the Judson Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg
Versie Mae Hudson
Versie Mae Hudson, 82, of Crossett died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Parkdale, she was a homemaker and a member of the Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Holmes; a daughter, Magalene Lewis; and her parents, Jim and Mary Hudson.
Survivors include four sons, Rev. William Caldwell and wife Dorothy and Robert Caldwell and wife Cora of Crossett, and Wilbert Caldwell and wife Annette and Arthur Caldwell of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Elva Jean Williams of St. Louis, MO, and Travis Mae Jones of Bonita, LA; one brother, Issiah Hudson of Warren; one sister, Mary Lee Thomas of Oakland, CA; 85 grandchildren and 156 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. James Douglass officiating. Pallbearers were to be Dennis, Tommy, John, William III and Albert Caldwell and Ernest Smith, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were to be the deacons of Union Chapel and Brooks Chapel. Burial was to follow services at the Westview Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Jamecia Ellen Safley
Jamecia Ellen Safley, 72, of Pasadena, TX, died Friday, April 21, 2000. Born in Pope County, Ark., to Lorell and Lola Kendrick Staggs, she was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Staggs.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Safley of Pasadena, TX; a son, James Phillip Safley of Burbank, CA; an aunt, Orphalee Spurlock of Hamburg; and cousins Lis Marie Englerth of Hamburg, Junior Spurlock of Crossett and Shirley Spurlock of Hamburg.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett. Burial was to follow services at the Wilmot Cemetery.
Charles Stanley
Mr. Charles Stanley, 58, of Hamburg died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A life-long resident of Hamburg, he was retired from Union Camp and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Stanley; a daughter, Ruby Stanley; his parents, James and Alma Stanley; two brothers, Grady and Cedell Stanley; and a sister, Omie Rice.
Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Stanley of Conway; a daughter, Rose Marie Stanley of Warren; a brother, Odell Stanley of Hamburg; and two sisters, Lillie Bell Cessor of Lake Village and Edith Cessor of Hamburg.
Grave-side services were planned for Tuesday, April 25, at 4:30 p.m. at the Sims Cemetery with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Arrangements were by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
