Mrs. Melba F. Miller
Mrs. Melba F. Miller, 62, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at her residence in Hamburg. A native of Ashley County, she was raised in Smackover. She was a resident of Hamburg since 1991 and was a retired administrative assistant for the Social Security Administration. She was a member of the North Main Baptist Church where she was the music director, Kids Club director and building fund rreasurer. She was preceded in death by her father, Norwood Ford in 1997; a sister, Donna Sue Ford and a granddaughter, Megan James in 1985.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Thurman L. Miller of Hamburg; two daughters, Cindy Kennedy of Arlington, TX, and Dana Hickok of Van Buren; her mother, Lois Allison Ford of Hamburg; two step-sons, Larry A. Miller of Maplevale and Sam W. Miller of Sulphur Springs, TX; a step-daughter, Barbara Speer of Gary, TX; a brother, Norwood L. Ford of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, April 7, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Revs. Clyde Mitchell, Jr., Klois Hargis and Ware Russell officiating. Pallbearers were Ronnie, David and Tom Ford, Bob Kelley, Gerald Tomerlin and Shannon Shaver. Interment followed services at the Judson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the North Main Baptist Church Building Fund, 1105 N. Main, Hamburg, AR 71646.

Mr. Edward Nalls
Mr. Edward Nalls, 75, of Crossett died Monday, April 3, 2000, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. A native of Malvern, he was a retired wood worker and was preceded in death by his parents, John Allen and Izora Bryant Nalls.
Survivors are two sons, Edward Nalls of Dumas and Dewey Nalls of Pickens; five daughters, Annette Nalls, Essie Mae Nalls, Earlene Allen and Lula Goins of Dumas and Lorraine Coleman of Little Rock; two brothers, Zola Nalls of Oakland, CA, and Arvell Nalls of Pine Bluff; and two sisters, Novella Lewis of Crossett and Veola Buffington of San Francisco, CA.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the Cromwell Funeral Home chapel with Bishop R. E. Matheney officiating. Burial followed services at the Westview Cemetery.

Marjorie Knox Temple
Marjorie Knox Temple, 85, of Crossett died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born May 13, 1914, in Springfield, MO, she was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crossett, the Willie Spivey Sunday School Class, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Crossett Book Club and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl and Ruby Bradshaw Knox, and her son, James Knox Temple.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Austin Temple of Crossett; a daughter, Jane Temple Johnson of Crossett; three grandsons, Robert Austin Johnson of Crossett and Washington, D. C., Michael Joseph Johnson of Crossett and Jared Bradshaw Temple of Omaha, NE: two granddaughters, Melinda Johnson Atchison and husband Scott Atchison of West Monroe, LA;, and Sarah Lindsey Temple of Omaha; and one sister, Louise Knox Hull of Springfield, MO.
Grave-side services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at Pinewood Memorial Park. Memorial services followed at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Pallbearers were Tom Walton, Harold Rutledge, Jimmy Grubbs, Tom Pat Cook, Andy Gresham, Ben Walsh and Jimmy Murphy.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Crossett, 500 Main Street, Crossett, AR 71635.

Mr. Charlie Walker
Mr. Charlie Walker, 73, of Wilmot
died Friday, March 31, 2000, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Wilmot, he was a former employee of Georgia-Pacific Plywood and a member of the St. Marion Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Walker and Rose Edwards; two brothers, Calvin and J. C. Walker; and a sister, Ruby Boyd.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille Walker of Montrose; a stepson, Henry Junior Polite of Flint, MI; an adopted son, Joseph Carlton of Montrose; four brothers, John Henry Walker of Wilmot, Donnie Edwards of Chicago, IL, Havard Edwards of Chidester, and Kenny Carr of Atlanta, GA; five sisters, Joyce Block, Tina Bell Gaston, Hazel Edwards and Mary Butler of Wilmot and Dorothy Nell King of Chicago; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the Portland #2 Baptist Church with Rev. David Owens officiating. Pallbearers were Arthur C. Walker, Marcus Johnson, Charles Bynum, Arthur Wilson, Ray Holmes and Larry Woods. Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Edwards, William Woods, Havard Edwards, Michael Block, Greg Walker and Kenneth Carr.
Burial followed services at the Montrose Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
