November 12, 1935, in Crossett to the late John H. and Ophelia Sharp Barnes, she managed the Holiday Inn for 18 years and was head teller at Exchange National Bank in El Dorado for 18 years. She was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church of Crossett.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Larry Effie of Joplin; a brother, John H. Barnes of Longview, TX; and a sister, Evon Perlick of Houston, TX.
Grave-side services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Pinewood Memorial Park with services directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Angela Carmen Fields
Angela Carmen Fields, 24,of Crossett died Saturday, March 25, 2000. Born February 23, 1976, to Larry Flowers and Kathy Wade, she was a manager for McDonald's and a member of the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bryan Fields; two daughters, Lacie Renae Fields and Emily Diane Fields, all of Crossett; her mother and step-dad, Kathy and Pete Wade of Farmerville, LA; her father, Larry Flowers of Dubach, LA; her grandparents, Betty and LeRoy Swarers and Lawrence and Helen Flowers of Dubach; and two sisters, Shannon Norman of Rocky Branch, LA, and Tanya Boggs of Downsville, LA.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton White officiating. Pallbearers were to be John Welch, Ken McDonald, Danny Whistler, Tim Abney, Robert Hendrix, and Everett, Ray and Allen Flowers.
Burial was to follow services at the Unity Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Edna Maudine Justice
Edna Maudine Justice, 75, of Hamburg died Monday, March 27, 2000, at the Beverly Health Care of Hamburg. She was a life-long resident of Hamburg, a homemaker, an U. S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Eden Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Justice; her father, Dollie Marshall Bryan and a brother, David Bryan.
Survivors include a son, Richard Justice and wife Lisa of Hamburg; her mother, Ollie Ross Bryan of Hamburg; two brothers, Don and Ross Bryan of Longview; and a sister, Glendora Laurison of Hamburg.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, in the Cromwell Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Pallbearers were to be Morris Pennington, Larry Kinnaird, Russel Hogue, Tommy Thompson, Doyle Sivils and Herbert Wallace. Burial was to follow services at the Flat Creek Cemetery.
Alice Maxwell
Alice Maxwell, 97, of the White Station community outside Crossett, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Bradley County, she lived in the White Station community for 70 years and was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Grove Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Maxwell, her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include many cousins and the Holly Grove Church family.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in the Ryles Chapel A. M. E. Church with Rev. John Childress officiating. Pallbearers were Howard Hollins, Richard Montgomery, Eddie Williams, Henry Tucker, Cedric Tucker and Michael Brown. Burial followed services at the Ryles Chapel Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
