Ida Mae Metoyer
Ida Mae Metoyer, 73, of Crossett, formerly of Carson, CA, died Wednesday March 22, 2000, at her residence. A native of Ashley County, she was a retired beautician and a member of Christ Temple Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eld. Jordan W. and Daisy Ida Barnes Hendrix; three brothers, Marshall, Leroy and Clark Hendrix; and two sisters, Mamie L. France and Elizabeth Rhodes.
Survivors include her husband, Wilson Earl Metoyer; a daughter, Betty Jean Brown of Pasadena, CA: three sisters, Rosey L. Harris of Margo, MS, Lovie Spratt of Inglewood, CA, and Vertner Wheeler of Hamburg; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the Christ Temple Pentecostal Church with Rev. Alphonso Madden officiating. Pallbearers were to be Eddie Hawkins, Michael Reed, Chris Lewis, Charles Rogers, John H. Hendrix and James Harris. Burial was to follow services at the Ryles Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Mr. Carl Dean Miller, Sr.
Mr. Carl Dean Miller, Sr., 89, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at his residence in Parkdale. He was a native of Morrilton and a resident of Parkdale for the past 54 years. As veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. In 1940 he marriage Margery Gregory and moved to Parkdale where he went into business with his father-in-law, Ernest Dean Gregory. He remained active throughout his life as a merchant and a planter as well as a director and founding officer in the Parkdale Gin Company and the Bayou Grain and Chemical Corporation. Mr. Miller was a member of the Parkdale United Methodist Church and a past member of the Parkdale School Board. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margery Gregory Miller in 1979; his parents, Moss & Cansada Dillon Miller; a brother, James Harold Miller and two sisters, Lois B. Alston and Florine Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by a son, Carl Dean Miller, Jr. and wife, Kathe, of Kilgore, TX; a daughter, Marcia Miller Johnston and husband, Richard, of Little Rock; two sisters, Carmen Drilling of Heber Springs and Aleta Tarpley of Texarkana, TX; and three grandchildren, Kimberly Miller, Stephen & Miller Johnston.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25, in the Parkdale United Methodist Church with Rev. John Henley officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Norsworthy, Harry & Lance Dunigan, Ernest, Robert and Greg O'Neal. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Miller, Jessie West, Tom Sawyer, Jackie McCain, J.L. McCain, L.D. Myers, Larry Armstrong, John Noble Barnes, John Sumner Barnes & Billy Scroggins. Interment was in the Hamburg Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Parkdale United Methodist Church, PO Box 34, Parkdale, AR 71661.

Vada Savage Moses
Vada Savage Moses, 71, of Fountain Hill died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, the North Monroe, LA, Hospital. Born September 16, 1928, in Sumpter to the late Joe and Sallie Durey Savage, she was a retired seamstress, a graduate of the Fountain Hill Schools and a member of the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a son, Joe Chaney of Fountain Hill; a daughter, Dianna Cox of Fountain Hill; four brothers, Lyance "Bo" Savage of Hamburg, Lawrence Savage of Mablevale, Eddie Savage of Hamburg and Jerry Savage of Conway; four sisters, Elroy Kirkland of Woodville, TX, and Nancy Shaver, Jackie Brooks and Chryl Slocum of Fountain Hill; four grandchildren, Tracy Murphy, Evan and Steven Chaney of Fountain Hill and Pamela Pharr of Monticello; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Murphy of Fountain Hill and Sally Pharr of Monticello. She was preceded in death by Clayburn Moses, who she
marriage in 1964, and three brothers, J. C, Orrell and Boyd Savage.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, in the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church with Revs. Pat Wilkerson and Waymon Mann officiating. Burial followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery with arrangements by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.

Anna Elizabeth Ruff
Anna Elizabeth Ruff, 99, of Portland died Monday, March 20, 2000, at the Lakewood Rehabilitation Center in Lake Village. A native of Hale County, AL, and a Portland resident for the past 70 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the New Light Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ruff, in 1989; her daughter, Virginia Mae Johnson, in 1989; and her parents, William and Josephine Thomas.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Anna Lewis and Vivian Williams of Portland, Cynthia White of Montrose, Emmit Charles Jones of Las Vegas, NV, Lawrence Edward Vaughn of Lake Village and Robert Johnson of Kansas City, KS; 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Celia Bynum.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, March 27, in the New Light Baptist Church with Revs. L M. Christian and Eugene Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Jones, Robert Johnson, Lawrence Vaughn, Jackie White, Phillip Williams and Eric Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the Second Baptist Church in Wilmot. Burial followed services at the Portland #2 Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
